Chapter 1294: Global Manhunt Part 18
By the time the Tuning Bloom Guild’s scouts noticed there were some plant constructs nearby, it was already too late for them to react.
In less than a second, the area was completely surrounded by the constructs as Xu Feng unleashed his domain field.
"Fuck, it’s a Tier 2 player!" It was only now that the scouts realized the enemy wasn’t a Tier 1 player, but a bona fide Tier 2.
Within their ranks, none of them were Tier 2! They were only level 69.
"Quick, we must warn those in the dungeon—" The scouts hurriedly tried to send a warning to those inside the dungeon.
Alas, it was already way too late.
Their health points had dropped to 0, their eyes expressing unwillingness and regret.
"Thank you for being greedy." As they collapsed to the ground, Xu Feng made sure to bow and give his gratitude to them.
If it weren’t for their selfishness, followed by a straight confession that they didn’t warn those in the raid, Xu Feng might really hold some wariness.
Luckily, these scouts were so generous as to confirm that they were acting alone.
They really saved him a lot of trouble and headaches. Had they done their jobs as scouts properly, then Xu Feng would have had to waste a bit more resources to set up the ambush.
’I bet the Tuning Bloom Guild would soon regret recruiting selfish players and be put in an important position.’ This was the reason why Xu Feng rarely promoted players who were only skillful but lacked a sense of integrity.
Having no morals was fine, but one must have integrity and uphold their words. Otherwise, they would be no different than a vile villain who had zero redeemable traits.
While Xu Feng made ample preparation for the ambush, back in the real world, a gaming capsule popped open.
A frantic man emerged from the gaming capsule, their face ghastly pale.
"Shit shit shit!" He ran around in a circle in the room, his body trembling in fear. "That was the Vanguard Guild Leader Lin Feng. What kind of dogshit luck I encountered?"
The man hurriedly retrieved his phone and checked on the latest news.
Sure enough, within the Divine World livestream, the trending streams were all talks about the Global Manhunt and the siege on Haven Wind Town again.
However, clips already surfaced with the Vanguard Guild’s infamous Demoness emerging like the devil in the sky, annihilating over 40% of the enemies in one shot.
What was more exaggerated was that even Tier 2 players barely survived the strike.
The man staggered and plopped to the ground, his legs turning like jelly.
"Insane... this is insane." He swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
Just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse, his phone suddenly rang.
Upon picking up, one of his subordinates shouted in a panic.
"Brother Peng, we’ve messed up! The person we tried to ambush is the Vanguard Guild Leader!"
Peng Lai smiled bitterly. He initially wanted to cover the incident up, but based on his subordinate’s words, it was evident that they also realized who they were up against.
Still, he didn’t panic and warned him sternly.
"You tell the other to keep his mouth shut. Since it’s Guild Leader Lin Feng, I’ll inform the superiors that we’re caught off-guard and ambushed by him."
The person in the phone call also understood what Peng Lai meant.
Regardless of whether they wished to speak the truth or not, they needed a legitimate excuse for their elimination.
After all, they failed to notify those inside the dungeon about an intruder.
"Yes, Brother Peng. We have no idea what happened to us!"
"Good, now just stay logged out. I’ll handle the rest."
Shortly after giving the instruction, Peng Lai ended the call and began reporting to his superiors.
Divine World, Tuning Bloom Guild’s Headquarters
"What did you just say?" An elder in the guild suddenly stood up in alarm.
"You’re saying the Vanguard Guild Leader Lin Feng somehow took notice of our guild’s raid and is already lying in wait?"
"That is what my subordinate, Peng Lai, has told me, Elder." An elite member of the guild relayed.
"Damn it." The elder quickly paced around the room and immediately waved his hand. "Quickly, send a large team toward the Azure Dungeon now!"
"We’ve already done that..."
Instantly, the elder’s eyes narrowed coldly. "What’s the problem?"
The person quickly lowered their head and reported, "We’ve been intercepted by the Malefic Order Guild. I don’t know how we offended them, but they were adamant to kill us."
THUD!
The elder staggered a few steps. A look of disbelief could be seen in his eyes.
’Even the Malefic Order Guild is involved? Just who is it? Which traitor is in our guild that leaks this core secret?!’ Enraged, the elder clutched his chest tightly and shouted at the person to leave the premises.
"GET OUT!"
"Yes, Elder!"
A few seconds later, the elder’s eyes turned hazy somewhat as he opened the message prompt. He typed a few things before sending it to a person known as GodSlayer.
"Hopefully, the situation can still be salvaged. Otherwise, our guild would be in jeopardy." The elder pursed their lips and clenched their fist tightly.
The Vanguard Guild and the Malefic Order Guild...these two guilds joining hands together was something out of his scope.
Despite wanting to send a message to warn the raid team, the elder couldn’t do so because he was not near the dungeon area.
And with the Malefic Order Guild hindering their reinforcement, the elder could only pray that the raid team had made ample preparation.
"Still... those scouts are worthless." The elder’s expression turned icy cold.
Had the scouts been efficient, then they wouldn’t have been stuck in such a predicament.
...
Azure Lair
While the elder from the Tuning Bloom Guild was livid, Xu Feng was casually cooking some food near the dungeon entrance.
"Good thing I gave a notice to Evelyn in advance." He mused. Evelyn’s willingness to assist the Vanguard Guild helped save him quite a lot of trouble.
