Chapter 1199: First Day of Shooting Part 2
Chapter 1199: First Day of Shooting Part 2
Within a few seconds into the shoot, Xu Feng had vividly portrayed a man who had just been transmigrated to another world perfectly.
The crowd remained silent as Xu Feng opened his eyes.
"I-I actually transmigrated over?" Xu Feng laughed joyously.
"Where’s my golden finger now?" He continued and eagerly waited for his cheat to arrive.
"CUT!"
Right at that moment, the crew holding the clapperboard snapped the board and signaled the end of the shoot.
What followed afterward was a round of applause.
"Amazing!"
"This is some raw acting we haven’t seen in a while!"
"Now I’m starting to get why there’s so much budget in this short drama."
The production crew was all impressed and realized this was indeed not someone rich trying to use the excuse of a shoot to land themselves some beautiful actresses in bed.
"Okay, let’s take a 3-minute break!" Carmen exclaimed and approached Xu Feng.
"Not bad at all. You sure concealed your ability well."
"Hah, it’s only a few seconds of shooting and I feel drained already." Xu Feng smiled bitterly.
"Are you sure?" Amused, Carmen leaned close to him and whispered, "You’re about to be beaten to death."
"Eh?" Startled, Xu Feng looked at her in confusion.
"Why?" He asked. He had made sure to perfect the scene and acted like the script had intended him to.
How was it possible that he would still get beaten to death?
He didn’t slack off one bit!
"It’s because you went all out from the start." Carmen shook her head and explained, "By showing such great acting right away, how are your fellow actors going to follow along?"
"Oh..."
Realization quickly dawned upon Xu Feng.
His acting was indeed spectacular, but he had neglected his fellow actors.
Acting was a team effort, albeit with some star actors taking the lead to capture the audience.
It was the equivalent of a soccer team or basketball team. Players needed to cooperate well with each other in the same or close rhythm to ensure a smooth result.
"So what do you suggest we do next?" Xu Feng inquired. It can’t be that he had an NG (No Good) and must re-enact the scene again, right?
"Just mind your tempo in the next scene," Carmen advised. "It’s a good thing that the scene we shot is going to be the first scene in the short drama, so it’s fine to have such momentum."
"I see..."
Shortly after Carmen finished her advice, she returned to her seat and snapped her fingers to signal for the next scene.
In the next scene, it would be the revelation of a golden finger, aka the System.
Naturally, the System was going to be CGI, and the actor had to pretend it was actually present. To summarize, they had to speak to empty air while being filmed.
Without the camera, some might believe they were insane and required to be sent to a mental hospital.
"Okay, Actor Feng, please get into position!" A film crew asked.
Xu Feng promptly tidied his clothes and returned to the scene.
As the clapperboard labeled scene 1, act 2 was resounded, the camera began rolling again.
Scene 1 Act 2
Xu Feng scratched his head and appeared to be in disbelief.
"I’m now the useless Xu Feng of the Xu Clan...no, it’s the Vanguard Clan." He glanced at the sky and cried aloud. "Why do I have to suffer this fate?"
While he was sulking, Carmen gestured for the recorded voice to start playing in the background.
This recorded voice was intended to serve as the inner monologue of the character without breaking the scene’s fluent flow.
After all, it would be ridiculous to have the actors mouthing their inner thoughts aloud during the filming.
Of course, the recorded sound being played was mainly used as a reference. If the film didn’t appear right, then editing would be done, which required the actor to voice their thoughts again in a studio.
Once the recorded voice was played, the film crew made sure to capture the sound to the best of their ability.
[The Xu Clan was once a renowned noble clan, but because of treacherous ministers, we got framed. And this original owner is a complete fool to fall into the trap and lose most of the family’s wealth. In the end, even the female emperor was disappointed and granted us a name change to the Vanguard Clan, essentially sending us to the barren land border to defend against enemies.]
"Hah, so in three days, I’ll be sent to the barren border. The original host cannot accept living in those harsh conditions, got drunk in the mountains, and banged his head." Xu Feng was in distress.
Out of all the people he could transmigrate into, it had to be the well-known useless Young Master.
"Is this a fucking joke? Why can’t I be transmigrated to some strong Young Master? What kind of trash setting is this? It’s so cliche!" He plopped to the ground and began wailing, unwilling to accept his fate.
Just at this moment, a female voice echoed.
"Young Master, where are you?"
While the dialogue was in place, the camera crew soon panned to a faraway darkness, in which the lighting crew started to turn on the lights to shine on them.
The new arrival was none other than Ding Xiao Ying, donning a maid outfit.
Her expression, filled with worry, concern, and finally relief when she spotted Xu Feng from afar, was vividly captured on the camera.
"Young Master!" Ding Xiao Ying exclaimed loudly and hurriedly rushed to his aid.
"You scared Xiao Ying so much." She cried and embraced his arm.
Xu Feng’s eyes widened as he turned his attention to her.
At this moment, Carmen signaled for the second recorded voice to play out the inner voice.
[T-This is Xiao Ying? The original host’s loyal maid. To think she would still remain loyal to a useless Young Master and even tend to him at all costs. What kind of dogshit luck did this Young Master have?]
Shortly after the inner voice was played out, Xu Feng’s eyes began to lower and stared at Ding Xiao Ying’s chest.
His mouth was agape as he appeared stunned by her big chest. He was about to extend his hand forward and give it a touch until the "CUT" resounded.
