Chapter 1014: Superior Town
Chapter 1014: Superior Town
"Vanguard Guild finally decided to open their town!"
"Yeah, but is it even worth going there? The Reaver Guild’s Town is more beneficial and cheap."
"Holy crap, the entrance fee to the Vanguard Guild’s Town is actually 10 silver coins! They might as well rob and pk others in the wild!"
As news quickly circulated within the Divine World, players who were curious about the Vanguard Guild’s mysterious town were dumbfounded.
They couldn’t believe the outrageous entrance fee.
The Reaver Guild’s Town only charged 2 silver coins, but the Vanguard Guild went above and beyond to charge an additional 8 silver coins.
Without a doubt, most of the players were outraged by the exorbitant price.
Although there were still some sensible players who believed the price was due to the terrain in which the Haven Wind Town was located, not many could remain sane when it involved their wealth.
After all, players barely scrape by each day to earn a little bit over 10 silver coins. Not every player was considered a pro or influential enough to gain so much money daily.
Some were forced to work like regular employees and do every trivial task.
The high-value maps were usually monopolized by powerful guilds, leaving only trash or little to no value maps for the regular players.
To regular players like them, just being able to earn over 10 silver coins was considered a blessing. Moreover, earning 10 silver coins was still considered better than working 9-5 jobs where stress and anxiety continuously build up.
Haven Wind Town, Town Hall
"Are you sure it’s alright to charge that many silver coins?" Veronica’s face turned pale a bit. Previously, when they were the only ones with a town, she was confident about the price. But times had changed.
They were no longer a monopoly and the Reaver Guild was charging at an extremely low price. If it weren’t for their town’s capacity being limited, then Veronica reckoned the Reaver Guild would soon promote their town to a city.
"Don’t be blindsided by the enemy’s town." Xu Feng suddenly warned. "Our town and their town are two different stories. The clever players would know which town is more beneficial."
Veronica paused for a second. Indeed, she had been blinded by the dominant momentum displayed by the Reaver Guild. The momentum was like a bullet train that came out of nowhere.
She took a deep breath and exhaled softly. "I understand, Guild Leader. But the public still doesn’t know about our town’s facility. Words won’t get out if we have no people to spread."
What she meant was that many players were eager to flock toward Reave Town and not their Haven Wind Town. Without traction, it didn’t matter how superior their town was.
To simplify, this was a quantity over quality. Although most people preferred quality over quantity, when the demand surpassed the supply, the quantity would be the one on top.
"Relax, I have already arranged for DataSeer and OneManMedia to begin the work." Xu Feng chuckled. He had been preparing for this day more than anyone else.
Realization quickly dawned upon Veronica. She hurriedly opened the game forum, only to realize there were multiple posts about Haven Wind Town.
There were snippets of the town’s interior and many informative posts.
Yet each post was from a different player. To be more precise, it was players unaffiliated with any guilds whatsoever.
If Xu Feng hadn’t mentioned DataSeer and OneManMedia, then Veronica wouldn’t have been able to pinpoint these players to be ordered by them.
"When did those two recruit this many players?" Veronica exclaimed in surprise.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng held an amused expression. "They never recruited them."
"They didn’t?" She became startled.
"It seems like you have some short-term memories." He chuckled and explained, "These players are the ones we recruited at Lumora City. They just haven’t joined our guild officially yet but the contract already has them listed as guild members."
Almost immediately, Veronica’s mouth became wide open.
She had a look of astonishment as she never forgot about that recruitment. There were too many matters to handle in the administrative work that her memories had become sluggish.
"Anyway, let’s not stay cooped up here. The town’s opening and we should welcome people with a grand ceremony." Xu Feng lightly said.
Sometime later, they appeared outside the town’s teleport platform.
Streaks of lights flashed by and numerous players appeared on the teleport platform.
Because of Xu Feng’s heavy funding, there was no need for players to come by foot to Twilight Glades.
Instead, they could just teleport to Star Falls City and purchase a town token in the Vanguard Guild Residence, saving them time and stamina.
"We meet again, Guild Leader Lin Feng."
"I can finally witness this rumored town."
"The pricing is a bit expensive, but I reckon the Vanguard Guild must be concealing something big."
Numerous first-rate and second-rate guilds’ representatives arrived at the town and began chatting with Xu Feng, who was waiting by the center of attention.
Besides these guilds’ representatives, rich players and adventure team players who were relatively well off arrived in the town.
After all, the game forum posts had many players talking about a fast-improving combat experience in Haven Wind Town.
Combat experience was extremely precious and hard to improve in the Divine World.
Therefore, many gritted their teeth and paid an exorbitant price to check it out.
Although they were all skeptical, they highly doubted the Vanguard Guild was foolish enough to make up such a lie just to gain some traffic. Naturally, spies from the enemies’ guilds were also sent over to check it over.
Of course, these spies didn’t belong to any affiliations because Xu Feng also did the same thing to the Reaver Guild.
Since the Reaver Guild placed a ban on his guild, then Xu Feng had to reciprocate the favor.
As for the bounty tags that the Reaver Guild posted, he had no intention of following them.
Why should he pay some random players to kill on his behalf when he could do it himself?
To be more precise, Xu Feng planned on using the town’s attraction to make these players willingly kill the Reaver Guild members without being paid.
’I didn’t want to make a move, but you just have to force my hand.’ Xu Feng could already imagine the defeated face of Gao Zhong.
