Diyael, Tatum, and Jed quickly executed Verc’s order.

They realized what their master was planning.

Morcant’s head was like a gigantic boulder, but with their strength... It was nothing hard carrying it over their head.

"Hup...!"

Diyael carried the beast’s head all alone. Tatum and Jed will be guarding and guiding him all the way outside the forest, it was his first time living in the forest since he was born, after all.

They ran as fast as they could until they got out of the forest, then they continued until they got near the City of Sionnan and reached a path where merchants would come by to transfer goods.

And once they got there—

PHUCK!

They erected a wooden stake and stabbed Morcant’s head there like a display.

And on the ground, using the crimson blood of the dead demon king... Tatum and Jed wrote a message for the world to see.

[Thirteen Demon Kings. I have restored the count.]

It was Verc’s message, word to word. His warning to every force out there, be it the churches or the other demon kings.

The heavy, dark blood of the former demon king sank deep into the dry dirt, staining the main trade path with an unyielding crimson shade that could not be easily washed away by rain.

Diyael stepped back, looking up at the horrifying sight of the giant, four-legged beast’s severed head resting atop the tall wooden stake. The black, lifeless eyes stared blankly down the open road, a silent testament to the gruesome fate that awaited anyone who dared disturb the peace of Verc’s domain.

"This will definitely cause a massive stir among the human kingdoms and the neighboring territories."

Diyael stated, wiping a drop of dark blood from his fingers.

"Let them make a fuss."

Tatum said, his tone cold as he adjusted the weapon on his back.

"They need to understand that Lord Verc is not someone they can provoke without paying the ultimate price."

Jed looked at the written message on the ground, a dark, satisfied smirk appearing on his face.

"When the merchant caravans pass by this road tomorrow morning, the news will spread across the continent like wildfire. No one will dare look down on our territory ever again."

He said, anger rushing up from within gim as he remembered the state of the village and the people back in the forest.

It was not just him, Tatum was angry too.

So silently... The two of them promised themselves to get even stronger.

Having completed their task down to the very last detail, the three turned around without delay, melting back into the shadows of the surrounding tree line.

The three of them rushed back to return to the village.

With their full speed, they completed the task given to them in less than a day.

The moon was already high up in the sky when they got back to the village, they ran very fast for hours non-stop until now for the task given to them by their lord. But except from feeling a little weaker because they continuously used mana while running, the three of them aren’t tired at all.

Their vampire bodies, further reinforced by their immense physical strength, allowed them to maintain a blinding pace through the treacherous forest terrain without losing their breath or slowing down for a single moment.

Since they’re feeling fine, they immediately headed back to where their lord is.

The night air was cold and quiet as they traversed the newly formed stone corridors of the temporary shelter, stepping past the guards stationed near the entrance.

"We’ve finished the task, my lord."

Diyael reported as soon as they entered the small room Verc created.

Verc was still there inside, looking at the dead body of the beast. It was towering over him.

The headless, red-skinned corpse of Morcant remained lying across the stone floor, the surrounding area still soaked in dark, thick demon blood. Verc stood quietly in front of the massive frame, his hands resting naturally at his sides as if contemplating the sheer scale of the creature he had slain.

"Good work. Rest up for a bit then help the others tend to the patients."

Verc said as he turned to the three.

His voice was steady, carrying that same calm authority that settled the anxious minds of his subordinates instantly.

Then, without so much as a warning—

S L A S H!

He cut the demon king’s corpse in half!

A violent wave of pressure cut through the room, so sharp and dense that the air itself let out a loud, high-pitched whistle! The massive torso of the dead beast split cleanly down the center, the heavy halves sliding apart and hitting the stone floor with a loud, resounding thud.

His swing was so fast that the three didn’t even see Verc move his arms nor hands, and when they looked at his waist—his sword was already sheathed.

It’s like the beast’s body decided to cut itself on its own!

Diyael, Tatum, and Jed were stunned by this... They couldn’t even track the movement of their master.

Their eyes widened in sheer disbelief, their instincts ringing wildly with alarm. They were all powerful combatants in their own right, capable of tracking high-speed movements, yet none of them had caught even the slightest flicker of a drawn blade or a shifting stance.

Looks like in a very short amount of time—Verc grew a lot stronger.

The sheer density of the demon king blood Verc had absorbed earlier was continuing to settle inside his system, refining his physical speed and weapon mastery to a level that completely surpassed mortal comprehension.

Verc didn’t pay any mind to their shocked expressions, turning his cold gaze back to the exposed interior of the split corpse, where the thickest, most concentrated pools of demon king blood were gathering.

"The three of you, drink the blood of that bastard."

As the three were admiring the new strength of their lord, Verc told them that.

Diyael, Tatum, and Jed froze where they stood, looking from the open corpse to Verc’s calm, unreadable face.

"My lord...?"

Tatum asked, slightly taken aback by the sudden instruction.

"His physical body is gone, but the residual mana and vital essence inside his blood are still fresh."

Verc explained, gesturing toward the split corpse with a slight wave of his hand.

"You three are the strongest fighters currently leading my forces. If another threat comes while I am away or recovering, you need enough power to stand your ground and protect the village. Consume his blood and absorb as much energy as your bodies can handle."

Understanding the depth of their master’s intention, the three bowed their heads deeply in unison.

"Understood, Lord Verc!"

Diyael answered for the group, his voice filled with absolute determination as they stepped forward toward the split frame of the fallen demon king.
