BOOM!

The castle floor exploded as Morcant rushed forward toward Verc in pure rage. He can’t use his wings now to fly with his massive size, but he was able to use it to boost his speed!

TIIIIING!!!

Verc’s blade echoed as it collided with Morcant’s claws.

Each of its claws was bigger than his sword, but with his mana—Verc was able to stop the advance of the massive beast.

’For its size, it’s fast.’

Verc thought with a frown.

And in the next moment—

GRAAAAAAAHHH!!!

Morcant, consumed by his transformation, let out a roar filled with mana—then he started smashing everywhere, not regarding anything around him.

BOOM! BAAAM! CRASH!!!

The pillars, the walls, the floor... Verc’s castle was being destroyed bit by bit with the beast throwing a tantrum.

Giant slabs of stone rained down, shattering into pieces as they hit the ground. Heavy support beams snapped like twigs under the weight of Morcant’s wild thrashing. The sheer destruction sent thick clouds of dust billowing across the wide hall, turning the air completely gray and choking.

But Verc—

He didn’t pay any attention to it and just avoided every attack thrown by the crazed Morcant.

With complete composure, Verc sidestepped a crushing blow from a massive paw that sent a shockwave ripping through the floorboards. He ducked under a wild swipe of the beast’s tail, his eyes calmly scanning the room to track the locations of his pinned subordinates amidst the falling debris.

’I need to get them out of here before this entire structure collapses on them.’

Verc thought to himself, his mind focusing on his next sequence of movements.

’The beast has completely lost its senses. It won’t even notice if I clear the room.’

FWOOSH!

And then, in the middle of the chaos; he teleported behind Morcant! Or to be more specific, he teleported where Groo and the others are!

In a fraction of a second, Verc’s hands blurred as he ripped Groo, Mamon, Kuma, and the other orc family heads off the heavy stakes that held them against the stone wall.

Verc quickly recovered all of them, carrying them all over his shoulder like they weighed nothing. And using [Terrain Manipulation]—BOOM!

He summoned a spike using the concrete ground and made a hole of himself on the castle wall!

The massive stone spike punched straight through the reinforced outer barrier of the castle, creating a wide breach that led directly to the outside grounds.

Verc wasted no time—FWISH! And he threw everyone out of the castle.

One by one, the bodies of the orc leaders soared through the air, landing on the soft dirt near the outer perimeter.

He knew that Diyael will handle the rest into taking them to safety.

FWIP!

Then with [Terrain Manipulation] again, he closed off the hole on the wall.

The broken stone pulled back together like wet clay, sealing the breach instantly and leaving the wall completely solid once more.

And when he turned around to look at his enemy—he saw Morcant still smashing everything in sight to pieces.

BOOOOM!!! BAAAM!!! BOOOOM!!!

Morcant’s massive, dark red body slammed into the nearby interior structures, crushing everything into dust. The stone archways crumbled, the ornate stone carvings were reduced to powder, and the thick wooden furniture was obliterated into splinters.

The library where all the books he bought, along with the place where Onyx and Nara are always staying... It was unrecognizable now.

Shelves filled with rare texts, historical logs, and hard-to-find manuals had been completely shredded and buried under tons of fallen masonry. The quiet corner where the young ones used to sit and rest was now nothing more than a ruined pile of cracked stone and torn parchment.

"..."

Verc’s brows twitched in annoyance.

The cold indifference in his eyes sharpened into a deep, dangerous dark glare. His grip tightened around the hilt of his weapon until his knuckles turned pale.

’I spent time and effort setting this place up.’

Verc thought, his chest rising as a cold, heavy intent filled his mind.

’And this overgrown animal just ruined all of it.’

Then with a firm hold of his sword—FWOOSH! He teleported on top of Morcant!

Where his wings were folded!

SWAAAAAAAHHHH—!!!!!

Red, dense mana exploded from his blade, it was so strong that the air around him twisted.

The sheer pressure of the dark energy gathering on Verc’s sword caused the space around the blade to ripple, producing a high-pitched, vibrating hum that drowned out the sound of falling stone.

GRAAAAAA!!!

Morcant sensed this even after losing his reason, he turned his head up to look at its source, but before he could even try to do anything—

S L A A A S H—!!!!!

Verc swung his sword and cut off one of his wings!

The massive, leathery red wing separated from Morcant’s back, spraying a thick curtain of black-red blood into the air before crashing heavily onto the broken floor below.

ROOOOOAR!!!

Morcant let out a cry of pain, but his wings started regenerating just moments after.

Flesh, bone, and red membranes twitched furiously at the base of the severed joint, rapidly reforming the lost limb at an unnatural speed.

Not that Verc was going to wait for that to happen, with his blade still flaring with violent mana—

"GRAAAAAHHHH!!!"

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SWISH!

S L A S H—!

He continuously swung his mana at the huge body of Morcant, his hands moved like a blur.

Verc’s movements became a terrifying flurry of dark red arcs. Deep, jagged gashes opened across Morcant’s thick back, shoulders, and sides. The density of Verc’s mana crushed through the monster’s reinforced skin, cutting deep into muscle and bone before the beast could even process the first strike.

He didn’t stop, blood flew everywhere each slice he inflicted on Morcant’s beast body.

Streams of dark blood splashed against the walls, ceiling, and broken floor, painting the ruined lobby in crimson.

Morcant screamed non-stop that the whole castle shook, and to make Verc stop—WHOOSH!!!

He launched his sharp tail upward to Verc, trying to stab him with it!

The heavy, whip-like tail snapped upward with terrifying velocity, the razor-sharp bone tip aimed straight for Verc’s chest to impale him in mid-air!

But Verc just covered his left hand with [Black Scales], and using his sharp claws—TWHACK!

He caught the tail!

The heavy impact echoed like a cannon shot, but Verc’s left hand didn’t yield an inch. The black scales covering his forearm completely absorbed the force of the strike, his clawed fingers clamping down tightly around the bone spike.

Verc didn’t let go of it, he even used [Adhesive Grip]!

A dark, sticky layer of mana flared at the points of contact between his fingers and the beast’s tail, locking the limb firmly in his grasp so Morcant couldn’t pull it back no matter how hard he thrashed.

RAAAAAAHHH!!!

Morcant yanked his body forward with a desperate howl, trying to tear his tail free, but Verc remained completely anchored atop his back.

And while Morcant’s tail was in his left hand—SLASH!

He cut it off with the blade on his right hand!

A part of the thick tail was severed cleanly, sending another spray of dark blood over the ruined floor as the giant beast shrieked in agony.
