Chapter 260: 3.17 TLOC (7)

They enjoyed a nice breakfast and Nyxara's diet didn't bother Zander at all. He really didn't care about those types of things. He had seen so many different races eat so many different things from Paradise, as long as she wasn't out killing people just to eat them, it wasn't an issue. After breakfast Nyx took a shower, did her makeup and put on some comfortable clothes because she wanted to go somewhere she hadn't been before, she just hadn't made up her mind yet.

Zander put on one of his hundreds of pairs of tennis shoes, which made Nyx laugh. She couldn't believe someone had so much clothing and how well off his mother left him, although it made sense because she was the absolute ruler. She wanted to ask him about the Underworld, but didn't feel comfortable doing so yet. That's where she really wanted to go, but she didn't know Zander couldn't go to Paradise right now anyway.

"Well Nyx, any idea on where you want to go yet?"

"Well, I was thinking of somewhere peaceful and I've already seen the ocean. We're going to meet with Fleur second and can you give me a hint on your surprise?"

Zander thought about it for a moment before realizing he needed Zephyra's help.

"One second, let me talk to Zeph," He said and laughed.

She smiled, 'He really is starting to talk normally. It's nice.'

"Hey Zeph, what kind of clue should I give her?"

"How about somewhere no normal person could go but where she'd be safe and have a great view?"

"Won't that kind of give it away though?"

"True, that's a good point. How about somewhere she'll be safe and not normally be able to reach without a portal."

"That's perfect, thank you."

Nyx always giggled to herself when Zander was talking to his phoenix. His eyes moved like he was having a normal conversation with someone and sometimes he would even use hand gestures and arm movements like he was talking to himself. Most people would think he looked like a crazy person if they didn't know.

"Ok, so, here's my clue," Zander looked really excited.

"K!" Nyx smiled.

"You'll be somewhere safe but it's somewhere you couldn't reach without a portal!" He exclaimed.

"Hmmmm." She said while doing Zander's favorite thing where she tapped her finger on her chin several times while looking up into the air. He loved how cute she looked.

"You don't have any ideas?"

"Nope! So, I guess… let's try sneaking into the human lands. I want to experience what you did. If we disguise ourselves well enough, you can lead me around and if we get in a pinch, you can just teleport us out, right?"

Zander grinned. "You sure?"

'I hope he stays like this all day. Although, I doubt it once we get with Fleur. He's going to be awkwardly formal, at least I think.'

"Yup! I'm sure." She smiled.

They both covered up in hooded sweatshirts and Nyxara had a really good idea. "Hey, can we head back to the demon realm for a second? We should go grab some fake contacts so our eyes look different."

"Fake contacts? I don't know what those are but sure!"

He teleported her to the market where she picked out two sets of blue contacts and had him teleport them back into her room.

"Woah, I can't get this thing in my eye!" Zander laughed.

"Here, like this." Nyx showed him and helped them get in.

Zander laughed as they both looked in the mirror. Nyx looked like a blue eyed demon and Zander looked like he had a weird set of blue eyes, but it hid the gold well enough.

He teleported them to the outskirts of the human realm and they walked around, observing everything. Zander hated seeing the bad souls and would whisper to Nyx who was bad, who was neutral, the few good ones around.

'I hope we don't run into someone purely evil because that wouldn't be good but this place is weird! He's right, people are so rude. This is nothing like our lands!'

They continued walking around until the woman Zander bumped into on his first trip to the human noticed someone tall and muscular hidden in all black walking around again, this time with a demon woman.

'The god is with a demon? Hm. I should try and talk to them,' she thought while slowly tracking their movements.

They were busy holding hands, laughing quietly and the woman noticed how close they were.

"He's dating a demon? How strange." She muttered.

They saw the large human castle in the middle of the city, standing tall and highly guarded. Their shops weren't on the streets, they were in large skyscrapers, where many humans stood stacked up, in cubicles or working. There were schools with children out playing. They were enjoying a romantic date walking through a place Nyx had never been before. They were approaching the end of the town when the woman appeared in front of them.

"Nyx, that's the dark green soul I bumped into and ran away from. Did she follow us?"

"I thought I noticed someone following us but if you didn't say anything, I figured we were safe."

"Hello?" Zander asked awkwardly.

The woman motioned for them to follow her so they did, holding hands and Xander kept a close eye out to make sure no one was following them.

"It looks like she knows how not to be seen. There's no one else around so where is she taking us?" He asked Nyx quietly.

"I'm not sure but if she's a dark green soul, isn't that a great person? She didn't expose you last time. Are you sure it's her?"

"Yes and she's strangely calm and interested in why we're holding hands but not jealous or mad. This is unusual behavior, isn't it?"

Nyx thought about his question. He wasn't wrong and she didn't think he was right either. Why would someone who didn't know him be upset that he was with a demon? On the other hand, if she was interested in getting to know and flirting with a god, she would be upset, not calm.

"I'm not sure, babe. Let's just find out what's going on." She whispered.

Once they were in a safe spot, the woman drew a staff and cast a magical barrier around them.

"Ok, we should be safe here. I am Savannah, a summoner. What is a god and a demon doing in the human realm and why did you teleport away from me before?"

'Ok, now everyone is confused and Nyx is uncomfortable. I don't know what to do.'

"We were just going on a date, that's all," Nyx said nervously.

"An angelic god and a common demon on a date. I don't buy it," Savannah said politely, but sternly.

"She knows something's off," he whispered to Nyx. "I don't know what to do."

"Me neither. Do you think we can trust her?"

"I am Zander, son of Athena sent to unite the races." Zander said awkwardly and formally again, which caused Nyx to facepalm.

"Sorry, he gets really formal when he's nervous," Nyx said with an awkward smile.

"He sounds…weird." The woman said while shaking his head. "Like have you not talked to anyone before?"

"No, only N– my girlfriend and the royal five." Zander caught himself.

"Good save sexy," Nyx whispered into his ear.

"What do you two keep whispering about? Do I need to summon something to listen in on your conversations or can we start over by you being honest with me. I have told you who I am and I did not tell anyone about you in the human lands. I have given you no reason to distrust me." She said kindly.

Nyxara took out her contacts and flicked them into the air. Zander struggled to get his out, so Nyx helped him, which made the woman laugh.

"Nyxara Nightwing." She said politely. "What a pleasure to meet you," She bowed.

"Please don't bow and treat me formally," She asked sincerely. "It'll just make Zander act more like a god and less like a person. He was doing so much better today!"

"I was?" Zander smiled.

"See, now you sound like a normal person," Savannah laughed. "Well, thank you for being honest with me. I am just a high ranking summoner who doesn't agree with human strategies. I lay low and avoid being selected for battle. What is your plan anyway?"

"Well, Nyx and Fleur already aligned the faeries and demons, so I was hoping maybe she could help me in my quest to unite the world."

"Why a demon though? Isn't that the polar opposite of what the gods stand for?"

Nyx frowned. "She's right Zan–"

"It doesn't matter what race someone is. What matters is if they are a good person or not and there isn't a better person in this world than my girlfriend. You seem to be a great person yourself, so I will trust that you will not tell anyone about our meeting. However, I would like to meet with you again because I think you could help us in the future. What do you say?"

Nyx smiled and wrapped her arm in his. "Thank you Zander, you're sweet." She said, lightly kissing his cheek.

"Ok. I understand and I am sorry Princess Nightwing. I meant no offense. The demons are the most neutral and always got along with everyone before this stupid war, I was just curious, that's all." Savannah said while writing her number down and handing it to them.

"We'll be in touch." She said before disappearing before their eyes.

"Woah, where the heck did she go?" Nyx asked.

"She's a summoner. She can probably travel to the realm of Eidolons."

"What's that?" Nyx asked with a cute smile.

"Not your surprise later," Zander laughed.

She jokingly nudged him. "You're doing a great job Zander."

"So are you. That conversation would not have gone well without you hear to help me." He said freely, without a hint of formality.

"Well, let's go meet with Fleur?" Nyx said while kissing him.

"Maybe we skip that. I want to take you somewhere romantic." He smiled.

He quickly texted Fleur. "Hey, ran into another potential ally. Will discuss with you later. Won't be by today, sorry. Zander."

He opened a portal and Nyx gasped. "No way! That view!"
