Chapter 603: Chapter 462: The Calm Before the Storm (2)

Seeing Aaron Rook’s face flush an ugly red, his superpower flaring and on the verge of erupting, Lex Cross sighed. "Flora, how could this be your fault? It’s a good thing you weren’t the one Nina Rook was trying to kill. If you were..." Lex narrowed his eyes, their warning unmistakable. "I would make the Rook family pay dearly!"

At Lex Cross’s words, the hatred in Aaron Rook’s eyes faltered, and his furious, resentful expression slowly faded.

"Fine! On behalf of the Rook family, I am severing all ties with the Cross family." He shot Flora Bloom a meaningful glance. "Little girl, you’re just a native. If you had obediently laid low, you might have been able to avoid some of this misfortune.

Now that you’re mixed up in these murky waters, whether or not you can get out in one piece will depend on just how capable you really are!"

Lex Cross was about to say something more, but Flora Bloom stopped him. "Elder Rook, if there’s nothing else, I suggest you leave immediately."

Aaron Rook had been scowling ever since he arrived. Now, being told to leave, he steeled himself, let out a cold snort, and departed, disappearing behind a few ancient trees.

Once she was sure Aaron Rook had left Morhaven, Flora Bloom’s expression wasn’t much better. She had a nagging feeling his visit wasn’t just about retrieving Nina Rook’s Divine Sense.

She was certain Nina Rook had been sent by the Rook family to find Divine-level Space Fragments. He’d failed to retrieve her Divine Sense, yet he was only fixated on why Lex Cross had killed her. That part was very strange.

Graham Cross walked over, his expression also grim. "Young Master, Aaron Rook wasn’t with the Rook family’s contingent when they arrived. We had no prior notice of his coming. He’s already broken through to the Cosmic Level. Knowing his personality, there’s no way he’ll let this go. I’m worried he has something else up his sleeve. You and... the Young Mistress must be careful."

Flora Bloom was surprised that after the last incident, not only was Graham Cross not angry, but he was actually acknowledging her status. Still, she wasn’t quite used to the title "Young Mistress."

"Uncle, I’m afraid the Rook family has already made their preparations," Lex Cross said calmly.

Graham Cross asked in confusion, "Young Master, how do you know that?"

"Flora and I joined forces and killed the Seymour family’s Head, Levi Seymour."

"What?!"

Graham Cross visibly staggered back a step in disbelief. "But Levi Seymour was at the War God Level! Young Master, did you... did you break through?"

Lex Cross shook his head. "Not yet. But I’m close."

"Excellent! Wonderful! A genius of the Cross family’s younger generation is about to surpass all the clans to become the strongest! This is a great blessing for the Cross family!"

However, Graham Cross’s joy lasted only a few seconds before Lex Cross spoke again. "Flora has a Divine-level Space Fragment fused inside her..."

"Ah! Chongshan already told me about that. The Young Mistress is empowered by a Divine-level Space Fragment. In the future, once she develops her own internal space, the two will merge, and her combat power will be absolutely unparalleled.

Your union is one between two powerhouses, giving the Cross family another formidable fighter! Our family’s position in the Ancient Star Nation will become even more unshakable!"

’No wonder...’ Flora thought. ’No wonder this rather stubborn uncle is willing to accept me. So that’s what he knows. But he knows far too little...’

A smile touched Lex Cross’s lips as he glanced at Graham Cross, whose stubborn old face was beaming with visions of the future. "Uncle, Flora has five Divine-level Space Fragments fused inside her..."

The broad smile on Graham Cross’s face slowly faded. As the meaning of Lex Cross’s words sank in, the corner of his eye began to twitch, and a chill crept into his heart.

"Fi-five of them?"

Flora Bloom, holding Lex Cross’s arm, gave a demure nod. "Mhm, five."

Graham Cross’s eye began to twitch violently, and the color drained from his face. "This is a disaster! A disaster!" he cried, slapping his thigh, his face a mask of regret.

"Uncle?" Lex Cross said with a small smile, but it was as if Graham Cross hadn’t heard him.

"Young Master! If you knew this, how could you have let that old bastard Aaron Rook leave! He must have found out about the Young Mistress, which is why he said all that!"

Flora Bloom suddenly let out a soft laugh. "Uncle, what would have happened if we hadn’t let him leave?"

"We eliminate the threat, root and stem, of course! Young Master! After him! With your speed, you can definitely catch him. We can’t let him live!"

A faint smirk played on Lex Cross’s lips. "Uncle, a Cosmic Level superpower user can no longer harm me or Flora. My only concern is that the major families haven’t only sent the people we see on the surface."

"So what? The Cross family’s ancestral land sent three..." Graham Cross suddenly faltered, realizing he had said too much.

But Lex Cross didn’t let him off the hook. "Uncle, which three Ancestors from our ancestral land might that be? And where are they now?"
