Chapter 573: Chapter 452: Rescuing People in Azuregard City (2)
Flora Bloom panicked, her expression growing grave. "How could you possibly know?!"
Saul Sterling stepped in front of Flora Bloom. "My father’s power has reached its apex. If he wants to know something, he can find it out.
It just comes at a price."
Flora Bloom was convinced. "Since you already know, are you willing to help?"
"Why should I help you?"
"You’re looking for Shauna Wallace for no other reason than because she’s a Healing System superpower user. You value talent. Shauna Wallace is one of my people, and I’m sure you’re well aware of my relationship with Lex Cross.
Help me find their location and rescue them. In the future, my people will be the Cross family’s people. You understand a simple principle like that, don’t you?"
Solomon Sterling was still conflicted, so Flora Bloom didn’t press him. She simply let a wicked smile spread across her face.
"Since Uncle Sterling doesn’t agree, I won’t insist. Mervin Warren, take him back. Use the fastest... speed."
"As you command!"
The moment Solomon Sterling heard Flora Bloom, he scrambled three meters away from Mervin Warren. "Go on, get away from me!" He turned to Flora Bloom. "Fine! Helping you is the same as helping the Young Master. So, spit it out. How many people? What are their defining features? What kind of superpowers do they have?"
.........
High above Aethelgard City, Flora Bloom, Lex Cross, Saul Sterling, Solomon Sterling, Mervin Warren, and Jade sat quietly on the Golden Crow’s back.
Solomon Sterling knew there was a Golden Crow in Morhaven. But whenever he tried to approach the golden parasol tree where it nested, he was driven back by the True Sun Fire it spewed.
He could never get close.
"How did you manage to tame this Golden Crow?" Solomon Sterling’s expression was grave. "To think that a species like the Golden Crow could still be born on Earth."
He had originally assumed Earth was just a low-level planet that had only begun to evolve by some stroke of luck.
But if a species like the Golden Crow could be born here, then Earth couldn’t possibly be just a low-level planet.
’It’s most likely a High-level one.’
’If this is a planet with a High-level life system, then waiting for its space to shatter just to fight over its Space Fragments would be a monstrous waste.’
’Its value doesn’t lie in some damn fragments, but in its ability to foster High-level life.’
’For example, some low-level planets can only support low-level species, or at most, single-celled organisms. On a planet like that, even if a Golden Crow laid its egg, it would likely just turn into a useless rock.’
’Let alone giving birth to any High-level life forms.’
Flora Bloom slapped the Golden Crow on the back. "You damn Golden Crow, tell your Uncle Sterling here how you ended up in my clutches back in the day!"
"I was young and naive! I was tricked!"
Flora Bloom stomped her foot on its back. "The truth!"
"My attempt to harm her backfired."
Solomon Sterling was completely dumbfounded by the conversation between Flora Bloom and the Golden Crow. "Huh?"
"Uncle Sterling, that’s not important. What’s important is that the Golden Crow is now my Contracted Beast, and that’s not going to change. Now, hurry up and help us pinpoint the location of Shauna Wallace and the others."
Solomon Sterling focused, using his superpower to scan the area. A short while later, he opened his eyes, his expression dark.
"Well?"
"Everyone is fine. They’re just locked in a cellar to the north."
"Uncle Sterling, why that expression?"
"Dad? What’s wrong?"
"The one leading the Seymour family’s group this time is that bastard, Jude Seymour!"
"Jude Seymour?" Saul Sterling’s expression changed. "Father, don’t be rash!"
"Rash? It’s because of him that your own little sister lost all her powers! To this day, her Divine Soul remains incomplete! I, Solomon Sterling, swore an oath that if I ever saw Jude Seymour again, I would kill him to avenge your sister! Otherwise, I’m not fit to be a father!"
Flora Bloom didn’t know the history between Solomon Sterling and this Jude Seymour, but from the sounds of it, ’this Jude guy is a real piece of work.’
’Anyone who could capture her father and the others, then bring them all the way to Aethelgard City to be imprisoned, was definitely no pushover.’
Saul Sterling hung his head, his eyes bloodshot.
"Saul," Lex Cross said calmly, "do you want revenge?"
Saul Sterling looked up at Lex Cross. "Boss... I..."
"Be a man. You’re one of my people, Saul. A real man acts on his anger and isn’t afraid to kill. If you want revenge, then you want it!"
"I do!"
"Let’s head back for today," Flora Bloom said suddenly.
"What? We’re not going down?" Solomon Sterling demanded, his eyes wide.
"Have you gone senile, or are you just stupid? Jude Seymour knows you. The moment you show up, a fight will break out. We can’t tip them off! My father and brother are in their hands!"
"You!"
"What about me?! If you want revenge, you’ll do as I say!"
Solomon Sterling looked at Flora Bloom, about to lose his temper, but then he caught the implication in her words and asked in surprise, "You’re willing to help me?"
Flora Bloom gave a muffled snort. "Only because you’re Saul’s father. In the future, do me a favor and stop looking at me like I’m some kind of villainess. Otherwise, believe me, I’ll make your son’s life very difficult!"
