Chapter 529: Chapter 436: Imbalance in the Middle-Level Zombie Group (Part 3)

Flora Bloom watched as over a thousand people were pinned to the ground before her by a net of lightning, unable to move. Those who struggled were instantly paralyzed by the shock the moment they touched the net.

Even High-level Superpower Users were nothing but weaklings before Lex Cross’s Thunder Ability.

"Then let me make one thing clear! This place is my territory—Flora Bloom’s. If it weren’t for me, the zombie horde in this settlement wouldn’t be waiting here so docilely for you humans to hunt!

You chose to cross my line and hunt Middle Level and higher zombies, so don’t blame me for kicking you out." Flora Bloom turned to the High-level Zombie behind her and said, "Memorize the auras of these people. If they ever come back, you don’t need to hold back."

Pinned to the ground by a superior force, the many superpower users of the Adler family felt utterly humiliated by Flora Bloom’s condescending posture and tone.

This was especially true for Titan Adler. He seemed to have forgotten that just a few months ago, he had only just broken through to a Middle Level superpower user. His rapid advancement in such a short time was entirely thanks to the information Flora Bloom had provided about the zombie horde in the settlement.

Initially, even with this news, they hadn’t dared to come to a settlement with such a massive zombie population. But when they were told the low-level zombies on the outskirts wouldn’t actively attack humans, the greed deep in their hearts began to fester.

For the sake of leveling up, of surviving and developing. It wasn’t long before someone confirmed it was true.

And so, the Adler family and other factions alike began to take a keen interest in this settlement.

But soon enough, they were no longer satisfied with the Crystal Cores of low-level zombies. The energy in the Crystal Cores of Middle Level and even High-level zombies was far greater than that of their low-level counterparts.

The Adler family in particular, after getting a taste of the rewards, quickly assembled a team and forcefully occupied the settlement’s periphery. Any team that wanted to enter had to surrender one-third of all the Crystal Cores they acquired.

Despite these tyrannical terms, the various factions of Argent Base accepted them willingly.

After all, the low-level zombies on the outskirts here really didn’t attack humans unless provoked. This provided the greatest possible assurance of safety for the people on the teams that entered.

Of course, this was only because Flora Bloom was controlling the Middle and High-level zombies in the area. The low-level zombie hordes would naturally obey the commands of their superiors.

However, if humans initiated an attack, the zombies would still fight back. The instinct for survival was by no means exclusive to humanity.

As the thousand-plus members of the Adler family were escorted out of the settlement by groups of High-level and Middle Level zombies, they saw that quite a few other family factions had already been cleared out and were waiting outside.

"Bastards! How dare they treat us like this! Dad, why did we have to be so obedient!"

"Heh. I’d advise you all to leave quietly. Otherwise, don’t blame us for being merciless!" The speaker was the very High-level zombie they had been besieging.

"You were losing to us! If it weren’t for Flora Bloom and her people, you’d be an actual corpse right now! We would’ve dug your Crystal Core out of your head!" a Middle Level superpower user who had been part of the siege shouted, refusing to back down.

Suddenly, the High-level zombie lunged toward the speaker with incredible speed. As its clawed hands reached the man, a single palm strike sent the Middle Level superpower user’s head flying.

"You! You’re not..." Titan Adler’s legs felt weak as he stumbled backward.

"Not what? If my master hadn’t ordered me not to kill humans, did you really think a thousand of you Middle Level users could have restrained me?"

Titan Adler’s eyes were bloodshot. Looking at the human-like High-level zombie before him, terror flooded his heart. "But... but you still... you killed him!"

"My master said that within the settlement’s boundaries, we no longer need to hold back against the Adler family! I killed him, so what? You want revenge? Feel free to try!"

Titan Adler hesitated, but in the end, he didn’t dare.

’Since when were Flora Bloom and his eldest son capable of making such a terrifying zombie acknowledge them as masters and obey their commands?’

’Did I make the wrong choice after all? If Lex Adler were still my good son, and not Mason Adler, would I be the one who had control over this place?’

’Wouldn’t it have been easy to make all the other factions in Argent Base submit to me, to achieve something great in this apocalypse?’

Outside the settlement, superpower users from all the major Argent families were gathered—the same ones who had been cleared out from the inside by the Adler family.

Everyone heard the High-level zombie’s words loud and clear.

"My master allowed the low-level zombies here to not attack you on sight so that you humans could level up and develop quickly. She wanted you to be able to obtain Crystal Cores and grow stronger.

But from this moment on, the Adler family is forbidden from entering this place to hunt. Not even their low-level superpower users will be permitted!"

"Who do you think you’re trying to scare!" Another Middle Level superpower user from the Adler family stepped forward, but he had only taken a few steps before the High-level zombie was on him, striking down with its palm. This time, the man’s entire head was instantly smashed to pulp.

"My master has said," the zombie announced, "that the leaders of the other factions may continue to hunt, train, and level up here. She will not interfere."
