Gu Lingling really didn’t feel like paying attention to this married woman who kept "driving" the conversation into the gutter.

"Okay okay, I’ll stop, alright? Don’t be mad!" Mo Hongying said with a laugh.

Already married and still this easy to tease.

Lunch was Gu Lingling’s treat.

"If you’re still going to fuss about it, then don’t ride in my car." Gu Lingling said with a slightly cold face.

Seeing her like that, Mo Hongying and Zhang Lanfang stopped insisting.

Taoran Inn’s branches had opened in many big cities across the country. It was because Mo Hongying had mentioned it before that Gu Lingling brought them to the Qin City branch of Taoran Inn.

"Are we really going to eat here?" Mo Hongying started to regret it. "A meal here is not cheap at all."

After one meal like this, her Old Ge’s monthly allowance would be gone.

She felt a bit distressed.

"I actually wasn’t that set on eating here. Let’s just go to that hotpot place we passed earlier. I heard in the evenings the line is super long there."

Hotpot would at least be cheaper than eating here.

"But Yuanyuan can’t eat that, right?" Gu Lingling said with a smile. "If you really want hotpot, we’ll go next time."

"No... no... I mean, just having a bowl of noodles would be nice too." Mo Hongying wished she could slap herself. What the hell was she babbling about.

Hotpot this, eating that, seriously!

"It’s fine." Gu Lingling lowered her voice. "It’s not that pricey. I’m a member here."

Mo Hongying was on the verge of tears.

Her mouth really was asking for trouble.

Who knew that when they arrived at Taoran Inn, they’d see everyone treating Gu Lingling with ridiculous respect, leading them straight to a private room—one that was decorated differently from the others, no less.

"Miss Gu, please wait a moment. Our manager will be right over." the waiter said respectfully.

The manager is coming?

"You’re just a regular member, that’s it?" Mo Hongying asked weakly.

"Uh..." Gu Lingling smiled. "..."

She had just opened her mouth to speak when she saw the manager rushing in. "Miss Gu, I’ve been hearing that you came to Qin City. I’ve finally managed to wait you out."

He’d been worrying himself sick lately.

Recently, guests kept saying the food wasn’t as good as before. They’d been trying to find the reason, but it seemed they still hadn’t found the real cause.

"I’ve already ordered the dishes for you. Try them in a bit."

The dishes... were already ordered?

But they hadn’t ordered anything yet. Wasn’t this treatment just a bit too over the top?

"Okay, I’ll try them." Gu Lingling said with a smile. "I’ll go take a look in the kitchen later too."

She’d already heard about what was going on with the Qin City Taoran Inn, which was why she’d brought them to eat here this time—she also wanted to take a look and see what exactly the problem was.

"Oh, I’m their consultant." Once the manager left, Gu Lingling said to the two stunned women, "So you really don’t have to feel any pressure about this meal."

Con... consultant, what’s that?

Mo Hongying was just about to ask when Yuanyuan beat her to it, blurting out the question.

"It just means I give them some advice." Gu Lingling said with a smile. "But I’ll need you two to keep this a secret for me, okay?"

"Sure." Mo Hongying said, a bit worshipful.

Zhang Lanfang also nodded. Of course they weren’t going to spread it around.

It was just that when the dishes started coming out, that was when they truly realized that this casual "consultant" Gu Lingling had mentioned was anything but simple.

Because there were way too many dishes on the table—they couldn’t possibly finish them.

And judging by the way things were going, it looked like more was still on the way.
