“Naruto-kun…” mumbled Hinata looking at the battle in the distance.

“For Naruto-kun and Sasuke-kun to summon them… I don’t think they are fighting someone ordinary,” said Yakumo, and asked, “What do you think, is it the Amegakure squad?”

“Maybe, maybe not… it’s hard to guess who exactly they are fighting from such a large distance…” responded Shion. All they are able to see are the figures of the Giant Toad and the Giant Snake, other than that, they can’t see much… and all that fog and mist surrounding the battlefield is not helping much either.

Hinata turned to Shion and said, “Shion-chan, we have to…”

Before Hinata could even complete her sentence, Shion immediately shook her head, “No we don’t…”

Hinata tried to reason with Shion, “What? Why? They are our friends!”

Yakumo also looked at Shion wondering why she immediately refused Hinata’s idea of helping their friends.

“First of all, we are too far, we wouldn’t be able to make it there in time to help Naruto-kun and the others…” answered Shion while thinking to herself, ‘If I had succeeded in mastering the Jutsu Kuroto-nii gave me back then, the situation would have been different, we could have made it to them in no time… but…’ shaking her head, she gave another reason, “Second reason is that you need to have faith in them, Naruto is strong, much stronger and better than me…” While giving such a reason, she thought internally, ‘Unlike me who is so afraid of that demon… he has been able to gain some control of the thing living inside him, there is just no way he would lose there!’ and added, “Moreover, it’s not just Naruto-kun there… Sasuke-kun and Mika-chan are on this together. I am sure they would be able to make it out alive without any problem and meet us inside the tower once they collect the Scroll they need.”

Hearing Shion’s response, Hinata clenched her hands. Yes, she needs to have faith in Naruto and the others. ‘Surely, they would be fine.’ With that in mind, she nodded, “Y-yes!”

Seeing Hinata nod, Yakumo turned her head to look at the red tower behind them and asked, “So, are we going inside the tower, or what?”

Shion and Hinata nodded, “Yes,” and proceeded to walk toward the Red Tower in front of them.

While approaching the tower, the three Kunoichi couldn’t help but glance at the battlefield from time to time. At such a time, suddenly a roar reached their ears and they turned back to look at the source, and that is when they noticed the appearance of another creature as big as Garaga and Gamabunta on the distance battlefield.

Looking at the creature, all three Kunoichi were stunned, and various questions immediately popped in their heads, “Wh-what kind of creature is that?” “Who summoned that thing?” “Will Naruto-kun be alright?” and so much more.

Crystal Battlefield

‘Wh-what kind of creature is that?’ mumbled Guren with a stunned expression.

The creature before her resembled something like a Chimera with multiple mutations, it had a monkey’s head with large fangs and a white mane, a tanuki’s body, a tiger’s legs, and the front half of the mouth of a snake for its tail along with glowing yellow eyes. And its size… it was as large as the Giant Snake and the Giant Toad not too far away from the crystal-filled battlefield.

Standing atop the creature’s head, Mika ordered it, “Nue… help me defeat her!”

Roar!

Following Mika’s command, the creature roared and tried stomping Guren using his right foreleg.

‘Crystal Body Substitution Jutsu!’ Seeing Nue’s attack, Guren immediately weaved hand signs for a substitution Jutsu and exchanged her position with a large Crystal.

Boom!

“That was close…” mumbled Guren from her new position as she stared at the powdered crystal at her previous position.

“There she is…! Attack her again, Nue!” shouted Mika upon finding that the Otogakure Kunoichi had managed to escape the previous attack.

“Damn!” Guren Gritted her teeth and quickly changed her position, boom!

“Continue!” shouted Mika and the creature followed her command, boom!

And so, the attack continued with Mika and Nue continuously attacking Guren, and the Otogakure Kunoichi trying to dodge those attacks.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Gaah!

Although she managed to dodge most of the attacks, Guren was not so lucky the last time as her body flew away and rolled several times before coming to a stop, “Damn it… that really hurts…” she mumbled feeling pain from her ribs and blood leaking out from her mouth.

Standing atop the collapsed Otogakure Kunoichi, Mika stared down at her in silence for a while before speaking to Nue, “Let’s go Nue, we have to help Sasuke-kun and Naruto-kun…”

The giant creature followed Mika’s command and turned toward the Giant Toad and Giant Snake in the distance.

“Where do you think you are going…?” said Guren as she once again got up.

Nue stopped as Mika questioned, “You still want to continue?” and added, “You should know that you won’t be able to hold off both of us at the same time.”

At a glance Mika could tell that Guren’s body was in a mess, however, Guren’s eyes were clearly telling her that there was no way in hell she was going to allow Mika to go away just like that.

“You have used your trump card… I still have mine left…” said Guren with a chuckle as black markings appeared on her face and arms, and she roared as a violent Chakra burst out of her body, “Don’t underestimate me, girl!”

Instantly, her physical features such as the color of her skin, and the length and color of her hair changed. Two black horns made up of crystals appeared on her forehead along with a pair of wings on her back.

‘It’s just like them!!!’ thought Mika connecting the technique Otogakure Kunoichi before her used to the previous Otogakure ninja their squad was fighting against.

“Next up is…” Unaware of Mika’s thoughts, Guren weaved the hand signs, Rat – Snake – Ram – Dog – Tiger – and clapped her hands together as five pink crystalline pillars appeared around them.

Mika vigilantly looked at the five Crystalline pillars surrounding the battlefield, but no attack came from them making her doubtful about their purpose, ‘What do they do?’ Soon her doubts were cleared as Otogakure Kunoichi’s Chakra fluctuations became several times stronger to the point her Chakra became visible to the naked eye.

With all that Chakra coursing through her body, Guren spoke, “And now, let the real battle begin!”

Somewhere in the Distance

The moment Neji noticed the summoning of Gamabunta and Garaga, both Neji and Kiyomi fell into a dilemma. A part of them was telling both the Genins to check out Team Seven’s situation, while the other part was telling them to have faith in Naruto, Sasuke, & Mika and not interfere.

As time passed, this dilemma became stronger and stronger to the point that neither of the two was able to properly focus on their own battle against Sunagakure and Kirigakure ninjas, and it just so happens that the ninjas that they were fighting weren’t ordinary either.

Initially, ninjas the three Genins from Kirigakure were proving to be difficult for both Suna and Konoha because of all the water and rain in the surroundings, but now that the rain has stopped, the situation has changed into the three Genins from Suna being the ones being unstoppable and both Konoha and Kiri have to work together to hold them.

As the battle progressed, another giant creature appeared in the distance and neither Neji nor Kiyomi recognized this new creature, as a result, they became more worried for Naruto and Sasuke. Even Lee appeared a little concerned, and asked, “Do you want to go there?”

Both Neji and Kiyomi nodded lightly, “At least make sure that their lives are not in danger…”

“But how to do that?” asked Lee with panting breath.

It’s not as though they do not have the option of withdrawing from the fight and checking out the situation, but the problem is that if they were to turn their backs, both Suna and Kiri would target them at the same time. Besides, engaging in this fight is proving to be fruitless for them because other than wasting Chakra, they haven’t accomplished anything so far.

So, withdrawing from this fruitless fight is the best choice but the problem remains the same.

Just when the three Konoha Genins were unsure what to do, suddenly a telepathic message appeared in their minds.

Hearing the message, Neji was stunned, and questioned, ‘Are you sure? You might lose your scroll…’

‘It doesn’t matter… I feel like this Chūnin Promotion Exam is not for us, its scale is too big for us. Your squad and Sasuke’s squad have better odds, so it’s the most logical choice, and personally, I have started to feel this entire ordeal like a total drag,’ said the voice.

‘……’ After a moment of silence, Neji nodded, ‘Alright then…’

‘In that case, let’s do it at the count of three…’

Neji, Kiyomi, and Lee glanced at each other and nodded, ‘Understood!’

‘Well then, three… two… one… go!’

The moment count was finished, Neji, Kiyomi, and Lee used body flicker Jutsu to leap backward into the forest, and at the same time, three figures leaped out of the forest and took their position.

“What the?” Sunagakure and Kirigakure ninjas were takenaback by the sudden change, but the three Genins that suddenly appeared did not give them any respite and immediately started attacking.

At the same time, Neji, Lee, and Kiyomi looked gratefully at their friends, “Thanks Shikamaru, Ino, Chōji,” then dashed in the direction of the Giant Toad, Giant Snake, and Giant Chimera in the distance.
