However, the problem is that their team underestimated the mobility of Team Deidara. Mika’s calculations were indeed spot on, however, Team Deidara did not move on foot like ordinary teams, instead, they used his clay bird to fly through the sky as soon as they entered the forest of death, as such, when Team Kakashi was heading toward Team Deidara’s approximate location, Team Deidara had already passed above them.

Just as Sasuke was starting to feel agitated, suddenly, a faint rumble came from a distance.

“Someone is fighting in that direction…” all three of Naruto, Sasuke, and Mika reached such a conclusion.

“But…!” Looking at each other’s expression, all three of Naruto, Sasuke, and Mika showed a hint of surprise on their face. Judging from the source of the sound, the battlefield should be at a considerable distance from them. Forest of Death has a natural ability to isolate sound because of its dense forest cover, yet the sound from the battlefield reached all the way to their position, this just goes to show that the people fighting are probably creating very large movements.

“Who could be fighting?” muttered Mika doubtfully.

Neither Naruto nor Sasuke answered Mika’s doubts as they looked around vigilantly, and noting their actions, Mika too became vigilant, “Is someone on to us?”

Naruto nodded lightly, “I feel killing intent…”

Suddenly, Sasuke threw several Shurikens toward several different points and shouted, “Come on out!”

Whiish! Whiish! Whiish! Whiish! Whiish! Whiish!

Just as the Shurikens thrown by Sasuke were about to collide with various ‘objects’ in the forest, the sound of metal collision occurred after which the Shurikens were deflected as several figures appeared around Sasuke, Naruto, and Mika.

Looking at the forehead protector on the ninjas around them, Naruto mumbled lightly, “Huh? Otogakure shinobi…?”

Sasuke’s expression remained unchanged., “So, you people couldn’t wait any longer, it seems…”

Mika recalled the identities of all the Otogakure shinobi from the list of Otogakure shinobi she had secretly received from her aunt, and mumbled, “There’s nine of them… Kidōmaru, Tayuya, Jirōbō, Sakon, Ukon, and Kotohime… then we have Dosu Kinuta, Zaku Abumi, and Kin Tsuchi…”

Looking at Sasuke at the center, Kidōmaru laughed excitedly, “For the nine of us to encounter Uchiha Sasuke… it seems our luck is really good…”

Kotohime licked her lips as she chuckled, “The prey has come to the door to get butchered.”

Sakon and Ukon smiled, “Indeed, this kind of opportunity doesn’t come too often.”

From the very beginning, the purpose of Otogakure ninjas was not to pass the Chūnin Promotion Exam, they only cared about whether they could complete the mission given by Orochimaru.
