Reborn into Naruto World with Tenseigan

Chapter 1025: The Question Paper Set by Uchiha Itachi

‘What are the effects of Dokudami?’ thought Raijin while staring at the first question in the question paper handed to him.

As a ninja with high proficiency in Dokujutsu (Poison Arts) along with their making process from various different sources, Raijin has a great deal of understanding of various herbs and plants, whether they are medicinal plants or poison-based herbs. Therefore, he could definitely say that he has indeed heard and read something about the Dokudami herb. It’s just that he had done so many years ago, therefore, he couldn’t remember everything about it instantly and would have to spend some time to recall.

‘If I recall correctly, it’s not a poisonous herb… instead, it was used in culinary, medicine, herbal tea making, insect repellents, and for decoration, right?’ nodding to himself, Raijin smiled beneath the mask then his eyes shifted to the next question. Even if he knew the answer, he wasn’t planning to write it immediately, he would first ascertain all the answers and then begin to write them at the last second.

While it is true that the purpose of this exam is to gather intelligence, what many people tend to forget is that they need to protect the intelligence they have gathered, otherwise, it will lose its value. Secret Intelligence is only useful as long as not many people are aware of it. Therefore, Raijin was planning to protect the intelligence in his hands for as long as possible.

With a confident smile, his eyes shifted to the next question.

The second question involves Kunai Throwing, or to be more exact, some highly advanced calculations based on Kunai throwing. The thrower has five Kunai in his arsenal, and he is standing at a twenty-meter distance from a large tree with xxxx height and xxxx girth. The target is pinned at a xxxx height on the opposite side of the tree, which means the thrower cannot see the target. Now, the thrower needs to utilize a maximum of five Kunais such that at least one of them hits the center of the hidden target, and the xxxx is the speed of the wind in the xxxx direction at xxxx, xxxx, xxxx angles with the X, Y, and Z axis of the XYZ plane.

Clearly, one needs to perform calculations for some advanced Kunai collision in the air and change the trajectory of the Kunai in midair while taking multiple factors into account such that it accurately hits the center circle of the hidden target board.

While it’s true that only a few Genins (highly talented ones) are actually capable of performing such advanced Kunai throwing skills in real life, they should have studied the mechanics and trajectory calculation during their academy days, so the question is not impossible to answer even if a Genin is practically not trained enough to perform such a Kunai Throwing.

Even if Kunai throwing and Shurikenjutsu are not his strongest suit, he can still carry out the advanced calculations needed to accurately answer the second question.

In fact, Raijin wouldn’t have been able to answer this question had he not served as the principal of the Ninja Academy for more than three years, after all, it’s been two decades since Kuroto graduated from the Ninja Academy.

Don’t take it the wrong way, Kuroto was certainly exceptional in theoretical knowledge during their academy days, but a person does tend to forget things they have not used for over two decades; there was no need for him to carry out complex calculations while throwing Kunai and Shurikens, as a result, he had forgotten a few things but that was only until he became the Principal of the Ninja Academy. Upon becoming the principal, he had to review and make adjustments (changes) to the course material taught at the ninja academy and quickly picked on the topics he had lost his grip on, as a result, there was no problem in answering the second question, either.

‘But then again, it seems Itachi did indeed make the test quite complicated…’ thought Raijin shaking his head as his eyes shifted to the third question. The third question was based on Genjutsu and sensory manipulation.

The fourth question was a philosophical question that discussed the nature of reality.

Is the nature of reality objective and independent of perception, or is it fundamentally shaped and constructed by the subjective experiences and interpretations of individuals?

Upon reading the fourth question, Raijin couldn’t help but chuckle, ‘It won’t be Itachi if he doesn’t discuss philosophy.’

There is no particularly ‘correct’ answer to the fourth question as everyone has a different understanding of reality, and their answer would be based on their understanding and perception. Itachi should know this more than anyone, yet he asked such a question, it can only mean one thing, ‘I guess he is interested in learning the opinions of young minds…’

The fifth question involved war strategy and deployment in response to a given disadvantageous situation in order to turn the tables on the enemy. The answerer has to give their opinions and discuss the strategy they would come up with if they were the squad captains. ‘Interesting…’

The sixth question discussed a moral dilemma involving the code of conduct that a Shinobi must follow.

The seventh question discussed Chakra’s Shape and Nature manipulation.

The eighth question talked about some complicated weather patterns and the impact these complicated weather patterns will have on different ninjutsu performed by ninjas.

Finally, the ninth question discussed the importance and workings of the Hand Signs in the manipulation of Chakra.

After reading all the questions, Raijin couldn’t help but drop the pend and chuckle while holding his mask, “Hahaha…”

Noting his weird actions, the examiners in the surroundings all focused their eyes on him and looked at him with unfriendly gazes. Apparently, his previous actions of knocking Konoha Anbu unconscious and injuring Konoha’s Genin squad had already spread throughout Konoha, as a result, he has earned ire and contempt of quite a lot of Konoha shinobi.

It’s not just the examiners, even the examinees also looked at him with doubtful and weirded-out expressions. Among the examinees looking at him were also Samsara and Tengu, both of them had somewhat troubled expressions. The question paper was a little difficult for both of them. Their knowledge base, experience, and thought process weren’t deep enough to be able to answer the complex questions asked in the exam paper.

Not caring about all the hostility and weirded-out expressions, Raijin began answering the questions. After all, he knows that he needs to help out Tengu and Samsara, otherwise, they might end up failing in the face of such an exam paper.

Honestly speaking, Raijin knew that there was no need to answer the first nine questions, at all, what’s most important is to accurately respond to the last question that Ibiki would give at the end. If a ninja accurately responds to that question, they can pass even if they do not write a single word in the exam paper, but Raijin did not want to risk it after having offended Konoha, so just in case, he will answer all the questions while making sure that both Tengu and Samsara answers as well and began doing just that without cheating or trying to copy answers from others.

It’s not that he did not want to cheat, it’s just that there was no need for him to cheat.

While it is true that the level of question paper is definitely not meant for Genins but higher-level shinobi like Jōnins, can a Hokage not answer these questions? Moreover, Raijin didn’t think that the special Chūnins embedded in the Exam Hall would have answers to some questions like the philosophical question, the moral dilemma question, or the war strategy question, as there is no correct answer to these questions, the answer that examinees will write for these questions would differ from person to person as these are subject to one’s opinion.

In fact, what Raijin did not know was that not only the special Chūnins embedded in the Exam Hall did not have answers to those special questions, but there were some extra special Chūnins embedded in the Exam Hall that had wrong answers written in their answer sheets so that the examiners copying from them copy the wrong answers.

While copying wrong or right answers does not serve any purpose considering the final question, there were special easily detectable hints added at the end of the wrong answers such that the person copying those answers would be able to understand that the answers are wrong, but only after they have copied it entirely. By then a lot of time would have passed, and they would need to start anew which would a lot of pressure on them considering the time constraint of forty-five minutes. This would put a lot of pressure on them, and they would be more susceptible to making mistakes and getting disqualified.

Itachi added these special Chūnins with wrong answers to the Written Chūnin Exam to make sure that the Genins learn to verify the accuracy of the intelligence they gather/copy from others instead of blindly believing it, after all, wrong intelligence can be more dangerous compared to no intelligence at all.
