Chapter 1984: Chapter 1978: No Evidence

"I don’t know. She didn’t tell anyone. She just left like that. Mr. Nangong only knows she went to pay respects to her mother, but we all know that’s not true; it’s just an excuse," Chu Molin listened to Qin Xue talk about Nangong Beiying’s past, so he knows Nangong Beiying wouldn’t really go to pay respects to her mother. According to Qin Xue, her mother passed away in the Imperial Capital, and the grave is here, so there’s no need to go anywhere else.

The only explanation is she didn’t want to face everything here, so she left. With this thought, Chu Molin looked at Xiao Qi with some suspicion.

"Boss, why are you looking at me like that? I don’t know she left. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be looking for her everywhere," Xiao Qi thought Chu Molin was suspecting him of knowing Nangong Beiying left and pretending not to know.

"I know you don’t know about this, but third brother, are you sure you didn’t do anything?" Chu Molin also heard from his wife that Nangong Beiying came back to confess to Xiao Qi, but within a few days she was gone. No one would believe nothing happened.

"Boss, I..." Xiao Qi wanted to say he didn’t do anything, but he couldn’t because there really was a bit of trouble he was trying hard to solve.

"Speak, what exactly did you do?" Chu Molin’s indifferent tone made Xiao Qi’s heart tighten.

"A female employee at the company said she’s pregnant with my child, but I don’t remember ever touching her. Later, she told me it happened when I was drunk," Xiao Qi couldn’t remember what happened that day because he was drunk, and he had no recollection of any incident the female employee mentioned.

But the woman insisted it was that day, when he was drunk and sullied her. Now she wants to marry him and hold him responsible.

Without any memory of the event, how can he take responsibility? So, these past days, he’s been trying to figure it out. He heard Yingying came back, and wanted to see her. Maybe upon meeting, he would get some clues. However, he’s searched everywhere but hasn’t seen her. Now Chu Molin tells him she’s left. She’s actually gone without even meeting him.

Xiao Qi feels distress in his heart. The trouble at the company is causing him headaches, and now the woman he cares for has left. How did he live so unsuccessfully?

"You’re a fool. If it were me, I’d leave too. Why stay with a muddle-headed person like you?" Xiao Qi’s words prompted Chu Molin to reprimand him coldly.

"Boss, I don’t remember. She says it’s mine, and I’m trying to resolve it," Xiao Qi feels so wronged he vows never to drink again.

"Just fire her, then charge her with defamation. You’ve not done what she’s accusing you of, yet you’re accepting responsibility. Are you foolish?" Qin Xue heard Xiao Qi’s words as she came out of the kitchen, and they made her furious.

The woman involved was Yingying, her family. How did it become someone else who left him in an embarrassing situation? Foolish, right?

Qin Xue really wants to open his head and see what’s inside. How is his mind structured so bizarrely?

"But she insists it was me and won’t relent, and I blacked out with no memory at all. What reason do I have to charge her?" Xiao Qi doesn’t want to deal with that woman, just he has no evidence, so he can’t do anything. Otherwise, what else can he do?

"Fine, I won’t say anything more. You worry about her yourself then. I shouldn’t have persuaded Yingying to be with you; that was my mistake," Qin Xue became angry hearing this. She has stated he didn’t do it, yet Xiao Qi is still here making excuses. Is he asking for a beating?
