Chapter 1966: Chapter 1960: Looking for Someone at Xiao Qi’s House
"Dad." After Qin Xue left, Chu Molin appeared next to the kids to watch them play games.
"Mm." Chu Molin just nodded and responded with a single sound.
"Dad, where did Mom go?" Yu Chen looked at his father. As soon as he came back, he whispered something to his mother, and then she left. Originally, she was supposed to go out, but he thought since his father came back, she wouldn’t leave. To his surprise, shortly after, she still left.
"She went to see Auntie An Hao." Chu Molin didn’t hide Qin Xue’s whereabouts from them. The children were small, but if they asked, they should be told because they would worry otherwise.
"Oh, Dad, do you want to go with her?" After hearing his dad and brother’s conversation, Yu Ze asked Chu Molin.
"No, I’ll just watch you play. I still have some work to deal with." Chu Molin didn’t join in. When the kids could handle things well, he never intervened.
"Okay, then you can be busy there, and we will play here." Yu Ze also knew his father was busy with work, so he didn’t make him do other things here, which might have bothered him.
"Okay, be careful while you’re playing. Don’t get it in your eyes." Chu Molin looked at the sand at their feet and reminded them.
"Got it." The kids responded in unison.
Chu Molin went back to his room, got some paper and a pen, and returned to the yard. After glancing at the kids, he sat on a stone bench and started writing down his thoughts.
Meanwhile, Qin Xue arrived at Xiao Qi’s house and found the door open, so she walked straight into the yard, unsure if An Hao was home.
"An Hao?" Qin Xue called out in the yard.
"Qin Xue, why are you here?" An Hao heard Qin Xue’s voice and came out of the kitchen.
"What are you doing?" Qin Xue asked, seeing An Hao come out of the kitchen wearing an apron.
"I was planning to take a nap but couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d get up and have some water. Who would’ve thought there wasn’t even hot water at my brother’s house? I had to make my own. I was just about to start a fire when you came. Did you need something?" An Hao really intended to nap, but hearing the door close woke her up.
She came out and saw Xiao Qi wasn’t home anymore, which put her off sleep. She figured Qiqi must have realized something; otherwise, he wouldn’t have left without a word. The more An Hao thought about it, the less she could sleep, so she just got up.
"Let me help you." Qin Xue looked at An Hao, who had never done these things before. Even when she tried cooking at her house, she’d never lit a fire. So Qin Xue decided not to let her do it. She herself had taken quite a while to get used to it, so she wondered if An Hao could even manage to boil water.
"Alright, thank you." An Hao didn’t refuse Qin Xue. Xiao Qi hadn’t been out long before Qin Xue showed up, so she must have something to say.
Thus, there was no point in refusing Qin Xue’s kindness; better to hear what she had to say first.
"It’s nothing, just boiling water. There’s nothing to thank me for. Do you want to eat?" Qin Xue asked, seeing the empty kitchen.
"No, we just ate a little while ago. I’m not hungry now. You have something to say, don’t you? Go ahead, I’m listening. Being evasive like Zuo Guyan doesn’t suit your personality." An Hao saw Qin Xue trying to make small talk, so she decided to speak candidly to avoid awkwardness.
"Hehe, there is something. An Hao, I know everything, thank you for enduring this." Qin Xue didn’t expect that the straightforward An Hao would be so blunt.
"Did he come to find you?" An Hao asked, looking at Qin Xue.
