As Shen Nian listened to Zhang Yuanjun, she quickly grasped what he was implying.

"Of course, we wouldn’t be asking for them for free. Don’t worry, the Group won’t let you lose out!"

Shen Nian’s astuteness was a relief to Zhang Yuanjun. It would have been awkward for everyone if he’d had to spell things out.

After all, for their Group to ask a subordinate’s family member for medicine—if word of this got out, it would be quite embarrassing.

But who could blame them when Shen Nian’s medicine was so effective? It was even better than the medicine prepared by the Group’s own medical department! If losing a bit of face could benefit his men, Zhang Yuanjun was willing to make that sacrifice.

Of course, the most important thing was that Zhang Yuanjun had faith in Shen Nian’s character. He believed she wouldn’t use this situation to embarrass him, nor would she disappoint the people in the Group.

"I’m not worried about the Group letting me lose out. It’s just... I’m only one person. I’m afraid I can’t possibly meet the Group’s high demand!"

Shen Nian looked at Zhang Yuanjun and stated her concern directly. Even if she was fast at making the pills, there was no way she could keep up with the Group’s immense demand.

"This..."

Hearing Shen Nian’s words, Zhang Yuanjun’s expression turned wry.

"However, if the Group is willing to provide the manpower and procure the medicinal ingredients themselves, I could give you the formula."

The formula Shen Nian used was originally left to her by her late master. Giving it to them would be a good deed for the country and its people.

Although the medicine the Group produced themselves wouldn’t be as effective as the ones Shen Nian made in her space, it would still be far better than any other medicine available.

Shen Nian had great faith in her late master’s formulas.

"Really? You’re truly willing to give the formula to the Group?"

Zhang Yuanjun had just been worrying about this, and now he was hearing such good news from Shen Nian! He knew that something like a medicinal formula was incredibly important to a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner.

Especially since Shen Nian’s medicine was so effective, its formula had to be exceptionally valuable. He never expected her to agree to give it to them without the slightest hesitation.

This... this was far better than the best-case scenario he had imagined!

"Yes. After all, as you know, Minister Zhang, I’m a student right now. My schoolwork is quite demanding, so I really don’t have the time to make a large quantity of pills."

"Shen Nian, on behalf of the Group, I thank you!"

"You’re too kind, Minister Zhang. But I’m not providing it for free, you know!"

"Of course! The Group won’t let you lose out, and I’ll fight for the benefits you deserve! I’ll go report this right away and have the higher-ups arrange for someone to discuss it with you."

After all, Zhang Yuanjun didn’t understand things like formulas, so of course they would need the higher-ups to send an expert.

"Just let me know once you’ve made the arrangements, Minister Zhang. I’ll also need some time to sort through my formulas and see which ones might be useful."

Hearing this, Zhang Yuanjun’s eyes instantly lit up. Shen Nian’s words implied she had quite a few formulas! ’I have to report this immediately! Right away!’

After returning from her meeting with Zhang Yuanjun, Shen Nian compiled a list of formulas the Group could use. Then, taking advantage of her free time, she went into her space and made a batch of medicine for Lu Cheng to keep on hand, just in case he ever needed it.

Not long after Shen Nian finished, Lu Cheng came home.

He must have heard about it from Zhang Yuanjun, because he already knew about the formula before Shen Nian even had a chance to speak.

Naturally, Lu Cheng was fully supportive of Shen Nian’s decision.

"Mm, let’s put the formula aside for a moment. About last night... shouldn’t you be telling me what happened?"

Although Shen Nian had been so captivated by his good looks last night that she’d temporarily forgotten what she wanted to ask, that didn’t mean she would forget again today.

Besides, Shen Nian hadn’t missed the way the members of the Chu Family had looked at her when she left their home. Their expressions held a certain meaning that wasn’t usually there.

So, something was definitely going on.
