"Yes."

Hearing Gu Hengzhi, the servant quickly left Gu Zifan’s room. Once the servant was gone, Gu Hengzhi walked over to Gu Zifan.

"Fanfan, it’s alright now. Big Brother is here for you."

"Big Brother, the doll my sister gave me got dirty."

As Gu Zifan spoke, he looked down at the slightly dirty doll clutched in his arms, and tears began to stream down his face.

"It’s okay, Fanfan. If it’s dirty, we can just wash it clean and it’ll be fine."

"But it *is* dirty! Sister is definitely going to be angry!"

But even with Gu Hengzhi’s reassurances, Gu Zifan’s tears still wouldn’t stop.

"Sister definitely won’t be angry with Fanfan. After all, she loves Fanfan so much, right?"

"Really? Sister really won’t be angry with Fanfan?"

Hearing that his sister wouldn’t be angry, Gu Zifan’s expression finally brightened a little.

"Of course. Big Brother promises Fanfan that his sister definitely won’t be angry."

"I’m going to wash the doll. That way, when Sister sees it, maybe she won’t be angry."

But seeing the light return to Gu Zifan’s face, Gu Hengzhi felt that the half-hour ordeal had been completely worth it.

After coaxing Gu Zifan to sleep with the doll in his arms, Gu Hengzhi left the room. The moment he stepped out, he saw the current head of the Gu family, Gu Zifan’s father, Gu Yaohui.

"Uncle."

Although he had been adopted into the Gu family, Gu Hengzhi was already old enough to remember things from before. Since the Gu Family hadn’t forced the issue, he had always called Gu Yaohui "Uncle" and Gong Shiya "Aunt."

"Hengzhi, I thought I heard some commotion in Fanfan’s room just now. What happened?"
