"What about me? All I want is an apology. Is there something wrong with that? And this is my dorm room. I’m going in, so kindly get out of the way!"

Cao Yuqing had been blocking the doorway ever since it opened. No one had thought much of it when things were quiet. But now that Chu Lingxiu had spoken, the onlookers began to wonder if Cao Yuqing was deliberately blocking the door to keep her from getting inside.

"You... Fine, I’ll move. It’s not a big deal."

Cao Yuqing knew she didn’t have a leg to stand on, so she could only turn sideways, opening up half the doorway. That’s right—just half. She did it on purpose, hoping to watch Chu Lingxiu struggle and make a fool of herself.

However, Cao Yuqing had miscalculated. Chu Lingxiu hadn’t arrived laden with luggage. It was just her and the small bag slung over her shoulder.

Half a doorway was more than enough space for her.

In fact, after slipping through the doorway with ease, Chu Lingxiu turned her head to look back at Cao Yuqing.

"Did you deliberately leave only half the doorway open? Were you trying to give me a chance to show off my figure? Thanks, but I’ve always known I have a great body!"

Chu Lingxiu’s words instantly made Cao Yuqing’s expression darken. The gazes of the onlookers darted from Chu Lingxiu to Cao Yuqing and back again.

They hadn’t noticed before, but now that it was pointed out, it was obvious. Cao Yuqing had only opened up a small part of the doorway for Chu Lingxiu, while she herself was occupying the larger half.

And the crucial part was, Chu Lingxiu had slipped through with ease! When you looked at it that way, didn’t it just prove that Chu Lingxiu had an amazing figure?

Meanwhile, Cao Yuqing was occupying the larger half of the doorway. In contrast to Chu Lingxiu, the question of what kind of figure would take up that much space was quite thought-provoking.

"You... you... you..."

Cao Yuqing pointed at Chu Lingxiu, sputtering for a long time without managing to say anything coherent. Yet as she stared, Chu Lingxiu’s words kept replaying in her mind.

’I hadn’t paid much attention before, but now that I’m looking... Chu Lingxiu’s figure really is incredible.’

"By the way, I think I just heard you say you don’t like your dorm and want to move into this one. As it happens, I don’t like this dorm either. So how about we just trade?"

This was a complete spur-of-the-moment idea from Chu Lingxiu. She knew Cao Yuqing wasn’t assigned to this room, and she also knew that Cao Yuqing couldn’t stand her own roommates.

Chu Lingxiu didn’t know what Cao Yuqing’s roommates were like, but at the very least, she was certain that she already disliked the other person in this room—and Cao Yuqing, who would now likely be a frequent visitor.

’Even moving to a different room with complete strangers couldn’t possibly be worse than this!’

"Trade rooms?"

Upon hearing Chu Lingxiu’s words, Cao Yuqing’s anger suddenly gave way to astonishment.

"That’s right. Trade."

"Hmph. And who do you think you are? The school has rules against switching rooms without authorization. You..."

"If we can’t switch on our own, then we’ll just have the school administration handle it."

Chu Lingxiu shrugged. ’I’ve been on pretty good behavior at home lately, so my family probably won’t turn me down. Besides, worst-case scenario, I’ll just let my family get a good look at how shameless these two are. Then they’ll definitely be happy to figure out a way to get my room switched!’

"What?"

Cao Yuqing had mentioned wanting to switch rooms several times before, but for her, it was just wishful thinking. She knew she could never actually make it happen.

But now, someone was standing right in front of her, talking about switching rooms as if it were nothing. And from the way she spoke, Cao Yuqing had a sinking feeling that this wasn’t just empty talk.

’Maybe... maybe she can actually do it!’

The moment that thought surfaced, a jolt of alarm went through Cao Yuqing. ’Did I just... provoke someone I shouldn’t have?’
