’Before he had her, Lu Cheng wasn’t interested in marriage, so of course he was immune to their teasing. And now that he had her, he believed he already had the very best, so other people’s displays of affection couldn’t possibly affect him. If anything, he was the one always getting a rise out of everyone else.’

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, we can all see you! Whispering secrets right in front of us and rubbing it in our faces isn’t cool! You two are the hosts, so you have to drink up tonight! We’ll let Lu Cheng’s wife off the hook, though. Lu Cheng can drink for you. How about it? No objections, right?"

"No objections."

Lu Cheng would never object to drinking on his wife’s behalf.

"Alright! That’s the spirit!"

"Everyone, please don’t hold back. There’s plenty of food and drinks to go around. If we run out, I’ll just make more."

Seeing how happy everyone was, Shen Nian naturally wanted to make sure they all had a wonderful time.

Zhong Mingshan and Zhang Ying, sitting opposite Shen Nian and Lu Cheng, suddenly stood up.

"Lu Cheng, Shen Nian... I still haven’t formally thanked you for what happened with my Yingzi last time. I’d like to take this opportunity today to officially express my gratitude. Shen Nian, you are our family’s benefactor. I’ll down this glass first!"

After speaking, Zhong Mingshan downed his drink in one go. Beside him, Zhang Ying followed suit with a sip of her juice.

Shen Nian and Lu Cheng quickly stood up as well. Shen Nian thought the matter was already in the past; she hadn’t expected Zhong Mingshan and Zhang Ying to still remember it.
