Lu Cheng’s words made Meng Sijia’s expression turn utterly foul. The people around them, however, were quick to agree with him.

"That’s right! I was wondering why someone from the entertainment department was always hanging around our company’s residential compound. Turns out she was trying to sow discord among us! How insidious!"

"How can anyone be so malicious! We can’t let someone like that come around here anymore!"

"Go on, leave! You’re not welcome here!"

"That’s right, you’re not welcome!"

Before Shen Nian or Lu Cheng could say another word, the fired-up crowd had already taken it upon themselves to drive her away.

It was clear that after today, even if Meng Sijia managed to keep her job at the corporation, she could forget about ever setting foot in the residential compound so easily again.

After Meng Sijia left, Lu Cheng turned to Shen Nian with a worried look.

"Nini, you don’t have to do that performance."

Lu Cheng had, of course, seen the scheming look in Meng Sijia’s eyes. The company gala had always been the Entertainment Department’s turf. He didn’t want Shen Nian to get bullied by Meng Sijia.

If Shen Nian just said the word, he would make sure Meng Sijia couldn’t force her to go.
