Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband
Chapter 442: Going to Spoil Him Rotten
The person rushing out of the corporation ahead of Shen Nian was none other than Meng Sijia, one of the Meng siblings who had previously caused trouble for Shen Nian, only to be driven away by Lu Cheng.
After that incident, Shen Nian hadn’t seen Meng Sijia again. She never expected to run into her now.
But seeing how Meng Sijia rushed off without even a backward glance, her face a mask of anxiety, Shen Nian wondered, ’What is she in such a hurry to do?’
Shaking her head, Shen Nian pushed the matter aside. ’What does it have to do with me, anyway?’
After receiving some news, Meng Sijia had bolted from the corporation. She was in such a hurry that she didn’t even notice Shen Nian on her way out.
Right now, all she wanted was to get home as fast as possible and get some straight answers about a few things!
"Si Jia, why are you home at this hour?"
The moment Meng Sijia arrived home, Father Meng and Mother Meng greeted her with looks of surprise. They hadn’t been notified that she was coming back. Besides, hadn’t their daughter told them repeatedly that things were very busy at the corporation and she’d be coming home less often?
"Dad, Mom, where’s Chengyu?"
"Chengyu went out and isn’t back yet. What’s wrong? You look so frantic."
The look of panic on Meng Sijia’s face was too obvious for Father and Mother Meng to ignore.
"Hurry up and call him back! Something’s happened!"
"What is it? What happened?"
"Oh, just stop asking! Hurry and call our son to come home!"
Just as Father and Mother Meng were growing anxious, they heard Meng Chengyu’s voice from the doorway.
"Huh? Sis, you’re back. What’d you want me for?"
Meng Chengyu walked into the house, plopped down on the living room sofa, and looked at Meng Sijia with a nonchalant air as he spoke.
Meng Sijia marched right up to Meng Chengyu, stared at him, and demanded urgently.
"I’m asking you, how exactly did you handle things last time?"
Meng Chengyu felt uncomfortable being stared at so intensely. He fidgeted on the sofa a few times before finally looking at his sister and speaking.
"What do you mean, ’how did I handle it’? I did everything just like you told me to!"
"Stop being so flippant! I’m asking you something serious!"
Meng Sijia was about to die from anxiety, and yet her brother was still acting like this!
"How am I being flippant? Sis, I did what you told me to do. What gives you the right to talk to me like that!"
Meng Chengyu usually got along very well with his sister, but that was only when she was nice to him. ’He was the young master of the Meng Family, the future heir! His sister is just a woman who’ll be married off someday. What right does she have to order me around like this!’
Besides, nothing had been going right for Meng Chengyu lately, and he was already in a foul mood. The last time he’d found the perfect chance to get close to Shen Nian and show her some attention, someone else had beaten him to the punch.
He had asked his sister to find out who that man was, but to this day, she still hadn’t given him an answer.
Lately, he hadn’t had a single opportunity to get close to Shen Nian.
The thought of Shen Nian’s pretty face and incredible figure made Meng Chengyu’s heart itch with an unbearable longing. This feeling of frustrated desire made him find fault with everything he saw lately.
"Si Jia, whatever it is, talk to your brother nicely. Don’t upset him!"
Mother Meng had always doted on her son. The moment she saw Meng Chengyu was unhappy, she completely ignored Meng Sijia’s frantic state and started admonishing her daughter instead.
"Mom, Dad, if you keep spoiling him like this, you’re going to spoil him rotten sooner or later!"
Meng Sijia’s anger flared. As she said this, it didn’t even cross her mind that she was usually one of the ones who spoiled Meng Chengyu, too!
