Chapter 381: We Meet Again

After helping Lin Jingyun and Zhang Ying each pick out a set of curtains, Shen Nian went to the fabric section.

Seeing Shen Nian already starting to choose fabric, Zhang Ying asked curiously.

"Xiao Nian, what are you planning to do with this fabric?"

"Make clothes!"

Shen Nian replied without pausing her selection, ’all the while wondering what color would suit Lu Cheng best.’

"Make clothes? Xiao Nian, you know how to make your own clothes? Don’t tell me you made that dress you’re wearing!"

Zhang Ying had long admired Shen Nian’s clothes. Now, hearing her say this, she was even more curious!

It wasn’t just Zhang Ying; Lin Jingyun was also very curious. After all, Shen Nian hadn’t been here long, so they didn’t know much about her, and they certainly didn’t know she could make clothes.

Many of the family members in their group knew basic sewing and mending, and some could even make simple garments. But looking at the dress Shen Nian was wearing, it was clearly not something that could be made with just basic skills!

"That’s right!"

Shen Nian didn’t think much of it and simply nodded. The fact that she could make clothes wasn’t a secret, so there was no need to hide it.

"Wow, Xiao Nian, your skills are amazing! I thought Mr. Lu must have spent a fortune on your clothes!"

"Yeah, I never would have guessed! Really, I’m so surprised!"

"Um, Xiao Nian, could you teach me? I’m getting further along in my pregnancy, and I want to make a few baby outfits. But I’ve never learned before; I only know a little simple mending."

Zhang Ying sounded a bit embarrassed as she said this. After all, she was a complete beginner, and asking Shen Nian to teach her how to make clothes would surely require a lot of effort on Shen Nian’s part.

But Zhang Ying truly hoped to make a few outfits for her unborn child with her own hands.

Even though you could buy baby clothes in stores nowadays, something handmade by the mother herself felt completely different from something store-bought!

After she finished speaking, Zhang Ying felt anxious, worried her request was too much and would put Shen Nian in a difficult position.

To her surprise, after she spoke, Shen Nian didn’t show the slightest hesitation and agreed with a nod.

"Sure! It’s kind of boring sewing by myself anyway. Sister Jingyun, do you want to join too?"

"If you’re both doing it, then of course you have to include me! But I’m much clumsier than you two, so you can’t laugh at me later!"

"We won’t, we won’t! Why would we laugh at you?"

And so, what started as just Shen Nian picking out fabric instantly became a group activity with two more people.

After the three of them had bought everything they needed and walked out of the supermarket, they realized they had bought quite a lot. Even if they planned to hitch a ride on the group’s vehicle again, they still had to get all their things to the spot where they had been dropped off!

"What are we going to do! We completely lost control while shopping and bought so much. How are we going to get all this back?"

"Nothing we can do about it now, we already bought it all. Let’s see if we can catch a ride first!"

After their discussion, the three of them walked to the road in front of the supermarket to see if any cars could give them a lift.

They had just reached the side of the road when a car pulled up in front of them. The window rolled down, and Meng Chengyu’s head appeared.

"Miss Shen Nian, we meet again! Looks like you’ve been shopping. If you don’t mind, let me give you a ride!"
