Chapter 299: Forgetting the Passage of Time

Shen Nian nestled into Lu Cheng’s embrace. As he held her, she wrapped her arms around his waist.

She was just as emotional! Having Lu Cheng back by her side made her happier than anything in the world.

"Xiao Nian."

After a long moment, Lu Cheng loosened his tight embrace. His hands, trembling slightly, rose to cup Shen Nian’s cheeks as if he were holding a priceless treasure.

"I missed you so much."

During his time away from Shen Nian, not a single second passed when he wasn’t thinking of her.

The only reason he’d managed to complete such a difficult mission so many days ahead of schedule was because his longing for Shen Nian had fueled him. He couldn’t wait to finish and rush back to her side.

"I missed you too. So much."

Shen Nian looked at Lu Cheng, making no attempt to hide her feelings. She had simply missed him.

’Since I missed him, of course I have to tell him!’

Lu Cheng gazed intently at Shen Nian. He had desperately hoped that she was missing him just as much as he was missing her.

But to hear her say the words herself still shook him to the core.

’She said she missed me. And so much!’

’My heart is racing! I can’t control this feeling, this thrill.’

Lu Cheng closed his eyes for a moment. He decided, right then and there, to stop holding back and just follow his heart.

Shen Nian watched as the expression on Lu Cheng’s face grew more and more intense after she told him she missed him. Then, he suddenly closed his eyes.

Shen Nian was just wondering why he’d suddenly closed his eyes when they opened again. Then, Lu Cheng leaned down toward her and kissed her.

The hands that had been cupping her cheeks moved. One slid to the nape of her neck while the other wrapped around her waist, pulling her tightly against his body.

But none of that compared to his kiss.

It was demanding, yet filled with deep affection.

It was demanding, as if he wanted to devour the woman before him, yet so affectionate he wouldn’t harm her in the slightest.

Shen Nian lost herself in the moment, her body relaxing as she closed her eyes and surrendered herself completely to the man before her.

Shen Nian’s willing response was a source of immense encouragement and joy for Lu Cheng. Fueled by his excitement, his passion grew fiercer, yet his touch became ever more gentle.

He even noticed when she unconsciously held her breath, her breathing becoming ragged. Lu Cheng softly reminded her.

"Silly girl, breathe."

Even then, Lu Cheng didn’t let her go. He only pulled back slightly, but didn’t break the kiss.

Once he felt her heed his words and her breathing smoothed out, he deepened the kiss again.

It was as if he could go on forever, tireless.

Lu Cheng captivated Shen Nian’s entire being. In her heart, in her eyes, in her entire world, there was only Lu Cheng.
