Chapter 289: It’s Good Enough That I Didn’t Kick Her Out

The bag Liu Fanglan had ripped open contained fabrics Shen Nian had bought specifically to decorate her house, much of it being lace.

And a fair amount of it was even pure white.

After Liu Fanglan crudely ripped the bag open, not only did the contents spill out, but she also started pawing through them immediately.

The piece she grabbed happened to be pure white lace. Shen Nian had fallen in love with its unique texture and pristine color the moment she’d seen it.

However, the most infuriating part was that, for whatever reason, Liu Fanglan hadn’t washed her hands before leaving her house; she had come over with them still covered in grime.

The moment she grabbed it, the pure white lace was covered in dirty smudges—and at a glance, it was clear they were the kind that would never wash out.

Liu Fanglan herself was a bit dumbfounded. She had only wanted to see what Shen Nian had bought and then figure out if there was anything she could get out of her.

After all, newcomers always had to get on their neighbors’ good side. That was the only way they could count on a little help from them in the future.

So if she came over to "help out," she refused to believe Shen Nian wouldn’t give her some sort of reward!

But now, it seemed that before she had done anything, she had gone and ruined something Shen Nian had just bought.

"Oh, uh, I forgot to wash my hands, so they’re a little dirty. Look, why didn’t you tell me you had white things in here? If you’d said something, I wouldn’t have touched it, right!"

Shen Nian stared at Liu Fanglan, utterly speechless. ’So, this is my fault now? I didn’t invite her in, and I didn’t ask her to do anything.’

Something she had spent her own money on, something she loved, was ruined. It was a miracle she hadn’t lost her temper, and now this woman had the nerve to turn it all around and blame her.

’Weren’t the families here supposed to be simple and kind? Why doesn’t my neighbor seem to be like that at all?’

Seeing the dark look on Shen Nian’s face, Liu Fanglan felt a little uncomfortable. After all, it was a fact that she had ruined the other woman’s property.
