Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband
Chapter 287: Sure Enough, It Was Her Misconception
"Is it because I look a lot like your sister?"
Shen Nian looked at the little boy and asked. ’If that’s the case, then it’s no wonder Little Fanfan wouldn’t let go of her. After all, seeing someone who looks like a family member probably makes you feel more secure!’
However, Little Fanfan looked at Shen Nian and shook his head.
"It’s not?"
"You’re like my sister."
"..."
Shen Nian scratched the back of her head. ’Am I getting old? Is there a generation gap between me and kids now? Why do I feel like I can’t quite understand what this little boy is saying?’
’He says I’m like his sister. Doesn’t that just mean I look like her?’
’Whatever.’ Shen Nian couldn’t figure it out right away, so she decided not to overthink it. Kids say the darndest things, after all. That was perfectly normal.
Shen Nian waited with Little Fanfan at the supermarket’s main service desk for a little while before she saw a middle-aged woman rushing toward them.
"Young Master, Young Master, where did you go? You scared me to death!"
The middle-aged woman ran up to Little Fanfan, squatted down, and checked him over. She only relaxed after confirming he wasn’t hurt.
"Miss, thank you so, so much! I never imagined... I just turned around for a second, and our Young Master was gone. I was about to die from anxiety! Thank goodness he ran into a kind person like you!"
The middle-aged woman had come over after hearing the announcement. When she learned that Shen Nian was the one who brought Little Fanfan to the service desk, she immediately expressed her gratitude.
After all, she was just a servant in the Young Master’s household. If anything had happened to him on her watch, her employers would certainly not have forgiven her easily.
’Thank goodness, thank goodness he met a good person.’
"You’re welcome. Your Young Master and I get along quite well. He’s very cute."
"Our Young Master doesn’t talk much. I hope he wasn’t a bother."
"Not at all."
Shen Nian smiled at the middle-aged woman, then squatted down in front of Fanfan.
"Fanfan, now that this lady has found you, you should go home with her. I have to go home too. Bye-bye!"
Shen Nian waved at Fanfan, then stood up to leave.
However, she had only taken a single step when she felt a tug on the corner of her shirt again.
Turning back, Shen Nian saw Fanfan looking at her with an expression of reluctance.
"Don’t go, Sister."
"Fanfan, I have to go home, and you should go home too. Otherwise, your family will be worried."
"Will your family be worried too?"
"That’s right! That’s why I have to go home too."
"Then... can I see you again someday?"
"Uh, if we’re fated to, we’ll definitely see each other again!"
’There are so many people in B City, how could she possibly know if they would ever meet again?’ Still, she couldn’t bear to say anything that would be too harsh for Little Fanfan.
"Okay. I’ll wait to see you again, Sister."
"Okay. You’re such a good boy, Fanfan! I’m going home now, so you should hurry home too!"
"Okay."
After saying goodbye to Fanfan, Shen Nian quickly called over to Wang Xi. They loaded the pile of things she had bought into the car, and then they prepared to head back.
But Shen Nian didn’t know that, not far away, the little boy named Fanfan was watching her the entire time.
"Young Master, let’s go home."
The maid standing beside Fanfan spoke as she watched him. ’Our Young Master is usually so quiet. I can’t believe he was suddenly so talkative in front of that girl today. Don’t tell me he’s had a change of personality?’
Only after the figure in the distance had vanished did Fanfan turn around. He glanced at the maid beside him and then started walking forward without saying a word to her.
’Uh...’
’So, the Young Master really is still the quiet type. What happened before must have just been my imagination!’
