Han Ziyan hated Han Ruochen from the day she found out that Han Ruochen and she were half sisters. She did not hate Han Xuehan as much as she hated Han Ruochen. It was all because Han Ruochen was better than her in everything. She was not only beautiful but also talented and skilled at learning various new skills. She even learnt English. Something she could never.

Han Ziyan knew that no matter how much her mother doted on her, she could never compete with Han Ruochen, and that was quite upsetting for her. At first it was just casual jealousy, and then it turned into hatred, and later she wanted nothing more than to snatch everything that belonged to Han Ruochen.

Even when Han Ruochen ruined all of her plans, she never thought that she could hate Han Ruochen this much. But here they were! At that very moment, Han Ziyan hated Han Ruochen to the point that if looks could kill, Han Ruochen would be six feet under the ground.

Seeing the hatred in her eyes, Han Ruochen’s heart was filled with glee. She simply told her dear sister, "You are angry already? Ziyan, oh my dear Ziyan. How am I supposed to tell you this is just the start?" Curling her lips in a cold smirk, she remarked, "Mrs Yang clearly doesn’t like you anymore. I believe that she won’t make things easier for you."

In her past life, the reason Mother Yang liked and cared for Han Ziyan was that she snatched Han Ruochen’s job as well as the sea scanning space. The same could be said for Han Ziyan’s daughter. The two of them had a good reputation and could earn a lot of money. Naturally, they were well liked by Madam Yang. But now there were no good cards in Han Ziyan’s hands. Without all those good things, Han Ruochen wanted to see what Han Ziyan could use to win over Madam Yang.

"Get out!" Han Ziyan’s temper surged, and she immediately let out a how, startling her mother, who had just returned after buying fresh apples. Since her daughter disliked the peaches that she brought, Meng Yunhan went to the market to bring some fresh apples for Han Ziyan. After all, she had gone through such a terrible thing! She instinctively ran into the ward.

"What are you doing here?" The moment Meng Yunhan saw Han Ruochen, she could not help but blurt out.

Han Ruochen calmly glanced at her agitated mother. If it were someone else, that daughter would have felt sorry for her mother, most probably guilty for making her mother worry in such a manner. But Han Ruochen didn’t. In fact, she felt quite happy. Her heart was filled with the kind of satisfaction that no one could explain.

"What do you think?" Han Ruochen arched a brow and shot back. "My sister met with such a tragic accident; of course, I came here because I was concerned about her."

Of course, Meng Yunhan did not believe a word. She stomped toward Han Ruochen and caught her by her wrist. Her grip was harsh as she dragged Han Ruochen out of the ward. "You better not come here again. Don’t think that I have no idea that you are absolutely loving this."

Meng Yunhan might be a bit slow, but she was not completely an idiot. She knew that Han Ruochen did not like Han Ziyan at all, and she would never come looking for her out of the goodwill of her heart.

Once she was finished speaking, she closed the door in Han Ruochen’s face.

Han Ruochen closed her eyes and opened them. She looked at the door that was closed in her face and smirked. She was not the slightest bit offended. If anything, she felt quite amused when she saw the agitated expression on her mother’s face.

She turned around on her feet and then headed toward her father’s ward. She was worried that these days, with so many things happening together, her grandmother did not have the time to take proper care of her father; as for Meng Yunhan, she knew that her good mother would never allow her father to take even a morsel of food from her. However, just as she was about to turn left, she paused and looked at her empty hands.

Han Ruochen: "..."

Umm... what was she going to feed her father? Looking at her empty hands, she could not help but throw her head back. damn it, it was not easy for her to raise the entire family.

"Dad." Han Ruochen entered the ward after making a small trip to the canteen. In her hands was a small lunch box that she had borrowed from the canteen.

"Ruochen, you are here!" Han Yichen immediately sat up straight, and his eyes crinkled when he saw Han Ruochen. Even though he did not want to show how aggrieved he felt, he could not help but say, "Where have you been? Was the journey so hard that it took you almost a month?" He was about to be discharged from the hospital.

Han Ruochen parted her lips. She wanted to tell her father all the dangers she had to take, but then she noticed how thin and worried he looked. "It was indeed a bit far, but it was quite safe. So, there was nothing to worry about." She heard all about the rumours that were circulating in the village; it was not a surprise that her father was worried. Meng Yunhan probably had no qualms in relaying the good news about her death to her father.

Han Yichen heaved a sigh of relief and put on a relieved smile. "If that’s the case, I am relieved."

Han Ruochen tried to tug her lips up in a smile but couldn’t because even if she managed to lie her way out of this mess this time around, once the newspaper released the information, she was sure that her father would find out all about the mission that she had taken. What would her father do after finding out the dangers that she had taken? She dared not think about it.
