Chapter 471: I Feel Disgusted When I see Her

  • Next Chapter

"What happened?" Once Han Yong was pushed into the operating room and Han Cheng went to pay the bill, Old Madam Han turned to look at Han Jianyou and Han Beijiang. She knew that Han Beijiang was innocent in the case, but she couldn’t point out Han Jianyou alone, lest the boy start screaming like a little banshee again.

Sure enough, just as she had expected, Han Beijiang turned to look at Han Jianyou. What else did she need to know? The culprit was ultimately Han Jianyou. This little brat, just what did he do to land his big brother in the hospital?

Han Jianyou’s face turned red when he heard his grandmother’s question. He stammered, "I...I made a mistake, Grandma."

Turned out that Han Yong took the children in the backyard to play with fireworks. However, most of the kids were too young, and Han Jianyou was too reckless. So Han Yong decided to start the firework show on his own. But who would have thought that just as he lit up the firework and turned around to run away, Han Jianyou popped out in front of him suddenly.

His sudden actions startled Han Yong, leading his feet to slip and his butt to land on the firework.

When Old Madam Han heard the ins and outs of the matter, she did not know whether to laugh or cry. She thought that something serious happened, but it turned out that these two brothers were actually messing around.

"Alright, don’t cry so much." Old Madam Han patted Han Jianyou on the head when she saw Han Jianyou cry like the sky was falling. "Your brother is not hurt that badly; it is just a small operation. He will be fine."

Han Jianyou pursed his lips and nodded. However, inwardly he was still worried.

After all, he was still a child at heart and was worried that his actions might cause Han Yong to be injured for life. What if his brother got paralysed because of him? His brother might hate him to death.

"Grandma Han? What are you doing?"

Old Madam Han turned to look at the person behind her. When she saw who it was, her face turned instantly cold.

It was actually Yang Jianming.

When Yang Jianming saw that the person was really Old Madam Han, he immediately walked forward and came to stand in front of Old Madam Han. He glanced at the operating room and exclaimed in a somewhat embarrassed manner, "Could it be that uncle’s condition has become even worse than before? Is everything alright?" It would be good if Han Yichen died; that way he could always corner Han Ruochen into marrying him.

Hearing his words, Old Madam Han’s face turned dark. "Who are you trying to jinx? My children are just fine."

Yang Jianming’s face turned red when he heard Old Madam Han’s response. He pursed his lips and then explained himself, "I am not trying to jinx anyone; I was just worried. Grandma Han, if it’s not Uncle Han, then is it Ruochen?" He heard from his mother that Han Ruochen went to sea almost a month ago, and there had been no news about her return. His mother had been cursing Han Ruochen to death ever since then and hoped for her sorry demise.

Yang Jianming naturally did not want Han Ruochen to die, as he hoped to marry her. Ever since the two of them separated, Han Ruochen had been getting better and better. She was still the same cold-faced beauty, but another sort of charm had been added to her face. It was the kind of charm that Yang Jianming could not ignore even if he wanted to.

In the past, he used to think that Han Ziyan was much prettier and bubblier than Han Ruochen, which was why he fell for Han Ziyan’s seduction, but once he and Han Ruochen broke their engagement, he realised that Han Ziyan was nothing more than a temporary attraction. The one who he liked more was Han Ruochen. However, by the time he came to this realisation, Han Ruochen was already quite cold toward him. But if Han Ruochen turned into a cripple, then would she have the might to act arrogant in front of him? She would be glad to get married to an able man like him.

As soon as he thought of this possibility, Yang Jianming was filled with a new kind of hope in his heart.

If Han Ruochen married him, then he would have many ways to control Han Ruochen.

Yang Jianming’s heart thumped. Could it be that his chance had finally come?

However, just as he was dreaming, Han Jianyou rushed forward and kicked the man in the shin. "You—stop talking nonsense. My sister is fine. If you dare to curse her, then I will beat you to death." Han Jianyou grew just as protective of Han Ruochen as he had hated her in the past. When he heard Yang Jianming say that Han Ruochen was the one in the operating room, he was so angry that he wished he could skin the man in front of him alive. What did he mean by saying that his sister got into an accident?

How dare he jinx his sister’s voyage? Did Yang Jianming not know that such words were a taboo for all fishermen’s families? He was asking for a beating.

Old Madam Han pulled Han Jianyou back when she saw that the boy was too emotional. She immediately said, "Yang Jianming. My Ruochen is fine, and there is no need for you to worry about her. And even if she were injured, then what kind of relationship do we have? There is no relationship between the two families."

It was good enough that she had not rushed forward to confront the old man of the Yang family and left a shred of dignity for him. What was Yang Jianming even thinking, coming to bother their family?

Yang Jianming felt a little comfortable when he heard the distant tone of Old Madam Han.
