"Mom, please, stop taking matters into your own hands. They don’t need it. It’s just like me—I absolutely hate it when people are constantly trying to set me up with someone—"

"So don’t do things that people hate. That’s not repaying a favor, that’s taking revenge."

Qin Wenying certainly had a right to speak on this matter.

After all, if someone was constantly trying to set her up with dates the minute she walked in the door—she truly loathed it.

It didn’t matter if it was her closest family members.

’I mean, how is it anyone else’s business that she’s not getting married or dating?’

’Did they really need to keep setting her up, time and time again?’

’Are they just going to completely ignore how much she despises it?’

Mrs. Qin: ...?

’How is this taking revenge?’

’Besides, didn’t I just say I was only mentioning it?’

’Does this little brat really think that just because *she’s* not getting married, nobody else is?’

’How many women in the whole country are like her, anyway?’

’If everyone thought the way she does, wouldn’t society fall into chaos?’

She shot her a glare. "Hurry up and get yourself ready. We can leave the hospital soon."

Seeing that her mother was angry, Qin Wenying decided to poke the bear again. "You’ve never been this dense before. What’s with you this time?"

Mrs. Qin: ...?

’Can I just smack her?’

’A kind mother and a filial daughter—that description really didn’t fit the two of them.’

Qin Wenze returned after completing the discharge paperwork.

He noticed the atmosphere in the room seemed a little off.

He didn’t think much of it, though.

"Are you two all packed and ready?"

Mrs. Qin snapped impatiently, "We’re ready. Everything’s here, just take it."

Qin Wenze: ...?

’What’s with Mom? How did she get angry so quickly?’

He couldn’t help but look at his little sister, his gaze asking an unspoken question. ’Did you make her angry?’

Qin Wenying wasn’t on good terms with her older brother.

So, she simply ignored his questioning gaze.

Instead, she asked, "Can we go now?"

Qin Wenze quickly nodded. "Yep, let’s go ahead and leave now!"

Since Qin Wenying could walk on her own now, she led the way out.

She could finally leave the hospital, and her steps felt impossibly light.

"Mom, let’s get going!"

Qin Wenze picked up the luggage from the room.

Mrs. Qin didn’t answer him, simply walking out of the hospital room.

Qin Wenze: ...?

’Why are both of them giving me the cold shoulder?’

’I didn’t do anything to upset them, did I?’

After Qin Wenying and Mrs. Qin got in the car, Qin Wenze loaded their things inside as well.

"How about I drive?"

Qin Wenying felt she’d been stuck in a hospital bed for long enough. It would be nice just to get her hands on a steering wheel.

At least then she could get a little taste of speed and excitement.

The words had barely left her mouth when, before Qin Wenze could even respond, Mrs. Qin cut her off from the back seat. "Settle down!"

Then she shot her eldest son a glare. "What are you spacing out for? Well? Are you really going to let her drive?"

Qin Wenze: ...?

"—Right!"

He immediately started the car.

Once the car was a little ways down the road, Qin Wenying remembered something.

She turned her head. "Mom, can I go stay at the courtyard house?"

Hearing this, Mrs. Qin didn’t immediately register what she’d said. "Which courtyard house?"

"Mom, the way you say that, you make it sound like our family has a bunch of courtyard houses. I mean, can I go stay with my aunt? At Mingxue’s house?"

Qin Wenze was also quite surprised to hear his sister say that.

’Why would she want to go stay over there?’

This time, Mrs. Qin understood. She immediately shot a glare at her daughter.

"How dare you even suggest that? Your aunt is already busy enough taking care of two kids on her own, and you actually want to go stay there? Are you expecting her to take care of you, too?"
