Mr. Qin said, "She’s awake. The doctor said she’s fine. She’ll just need to rest at home for a while."

Granny Qin breathed a sigh of relief when she heard this. "As long as she’s awake, that’s what matters. Wenying is a blessed child; she’s sure to get better."

’Thank heavens.’

"Oh, right. If you’ve all come back, doesn’t that leave your wife all alone at the hospital?"

Mr. Qin said, "It’s fine, I’ll have Wenhao go over in a bit—"

Granny Qin immediately cut him off. "Why send Wenhao? He rarely gets to come home. Just have Wenze go to the hospital. He can take a few days off work anyway."

Mr. Qin considered it. "Alright."

’The older son isn’t much use at home anyway. It’s not like the kids really need him.’

’It’s better to have him at the hospital—if they need anything, he can lend a hand.’

Just like that, the two of them had made the decision for Qin Wenze.

Granny Qin then turned to her granddaughter-in-law, Fu Mingxue. "Mingxue, you’ve had a long day and night. Go wash up and get some sleep, or at least have dinner and turn in early. Now that Wenying is okay, you don’t need to worry about her. Your work is important, so just focus on your own affairs. Don’t fall behind."

"Granny, I’m fine—"

Before she could finish, Qin Wenhao, who was standing by her side, said directly, "Honey, let’s go home."

Granny Qin immediately said, "You should eat before you go. Aunt Li is probably almost done with dinner. This will save your mother the trouble of cooking for you."

’Good thing I had Aunt Li make a couple of extra dishes.’

’I made some extra rice, too.’

"Alright then."

Fu Mingxue stayed for dinner.

After the couple finished dinner, they drove their three-wheeler back home.

When Mrs. Fu saw them return, she asked urgently, "How is Wenying?"

"She’s fine. She’s awake now," Qin Wenhao replied to his mother-in-law.

Mrs. Fu breathed a sigh of relief. "As long as she’s okay!"

"Oh, right, you two haven’t eaten, have you? I’ll go whip up a couple of dishes for you right now—"

Qin Wenhao quickly stopped her. "Mom, please don’t go to the trouble. We already had dinner at the Qins’ before we came back."

"That’s right, we already ate. Mom, I’m going to go take a shower, I’ll talk to you later."

Fu Mingxue hadn’t showered last night, and she was feeling quite uncomfortable.

She could tolerate it when she had no choice, but now that a shower was possible, she couldn’t stand it for another moment.

She went to her room to grab a change of clothes and then disappeared into the bathroom.

Mrs. Fu asked her son-in-law some more things about Qin Wenying.

When she learned that only his mother was at the hospital, she said worriedly, "How can your mother be there all by herself? Why don’t you and Mingxue go back over in a little while? Otherwise, she won’t have anyone to help her if she needs it."

Qin Wenhao said, "It’s fine. Qin Wenze will go over later."

Mrs. Fu was greatly relieved to hear that his older brother would be going.

’After all, it would be very inconvenient for his mother to be at the hospital all alone.’

The twins came out, saw their father, and both called out to him at once.

Qin Wenhao gave the brother-sister pair a hug.

"Dad, how’s Auntie?" Qin Hao’s question made Qin Wenhao see him in a new light. ’The boy has a good heart, after all.’

"Your aunt is fine."

"Dad, can we go see Auntie then?"

Qin Hao asked.

Qin Keke chimed in quickly, "Daddy, I can blow on Auntie’s boo-boos! Grandma said if you blow on them, the ouchies fly away."

The corner of Qin Wenhao’s mouth twitched slightly.

"—You can see your aunt when she comes home. But you don’t need to blow on her boo-boos. She’s a grown-up; she isn’t afraid of the pain."
