Sun Dexiang was mortified and just wanted to escape. "Mom, stop it. We didn’t..."

"Didn’t what? Weren’t taken advantage of by him? Ah Xiang, we’re not blind. Look at you! Your buttons are all mismatched." Sun’s mother cut Sun Dexiang off, then yelled into the house again. "Jie Jingchen, get your ass out here! You don’t even have the guts to own up to what you did, you spineless coward!"

Outside, hearing Sun’s mother’s outrageous cursing, Mr. Xie felt a massive headache coming on.

"Jing Si, you keep fixing that. I’m going in to see what’s happening," Mr. Xie said to Jie Jingchen, who was working on the car door.

Jie Jingchen ignored him and gave the car door a vicious kick. Seeing Jie Jingchen’s violent method of "repair," Mr. Xie winced, deciding it was better not to watch. He turned and walked away.

Sun’s mother dragged Sun Dexiang around, cursing outside the door. Her tirade grew more and more vulgar. At first, she yelled toward the house, then she started yelling toward the courtyard, as if afraid the neighbors wouldn’t hear.

"What seems to be the matter, my dear in-law?" Mr. Xie asked as he walked into the courtyard.

Sun’s mother froze for a second when she saw Mr. Xie. ’Weren’t my in-law and Sister Qiao supposed to be at work?’

"Oh, my dear in-law!" Sun’s mother let out an exaggerated wail, dragging Sun Dexiang in front of Mr. Xie. "My dear in-law, your fourth son took advantage of my Ah Xiang! My Ah Xiang is a virtuous, unmarried girl! How do you plan to resolve this?"

Mr. Xie’s face darkened, his voice stern. "My dear in-law, you can eat the wrong food, but you can’t speak so recklessly."

"I’m not speaking recklessly, my dear in-law! Everyone here is a witness. They all saw with their own two eyes my poor Ah Xiang running out of your fourth son’s room in tears!" Sun’s mother was instantly displeased.

"What was your daughter doing in Jing Si’s room?" Mr. Xie asked.

Sun’s mother faltered. ’Is he trying to take his son’s side?’ "I was on the toilet, and Ah Xiang couldn’t hold it, so she went to your fourth son’s room to use his bathroom. Your son saw how pretty she was and took advantage of my daughter!"

It was true that Sun’s mother was hogging the toilet; Jie Jinghun could attest to that, which was why he had run to his eldest sister’s room to use the bathroom there.

"Jing Qi’s room has a bathroom, and the room Jing Ling is staying in has one too. What were her intentions, running to Jing Si’s room to use the toilet?" Mr. Xie demanded.

"Jing Ling’s second brother was using the bathroom in her room, and Tongtong was on the toilet, too. Ah Xiang was desperate, so she had no choice but to go to your fourth son’s room! Who knew your son was a beast in human clothing, a vile predator!" Sun’s mother cursed.

Mr. Xie looked at Jie Jinghun, who tacitly confirmed it. He then glanced at Tongtong, who didn’t deny it either. ’Well then, that raises a question,’ he thought. ’If Jing Si wasn’t in his room, who was?’

Just then, Shen Qing walked out of Jing Si’s room, an indescribable expression on her ice-cold face.

"How could it be you?" Sun’s mother stared at her daughter, stunned and shocked.

Sun Dexiang was too ashamed to face anyone. She wrenched her hand free from her mother’s grip, covered her face, and ran toward the room she was staying in.

She didn’t dare run outside. In this unfamiliar place, if she got lost and ran into human traffickers, she’d be done for.

"You’re lucky it was me," Shen Qing said, her voice cold and laced with contempt.

Qin Mei was surprised as well. ’Shen Qing was in my room using the bathroom? Then where was Jie Jingchen? He must not have been inside.’

Shen Qing’s expression twisted. The memory of Sun Dexiang stripping naked and lunging at her had left a psychological scar.

"Dad, the car door is fixed." Jie Jingchen came in from outside, his face grim. He had been out there and heard every single word of Sun’s mother’s tirade.

"I’m going to work." Mr. Xie turned and left. He had wanted to say a few words of parting to his eldest daughter and granddaughter, but Sun’s mother had ruined his mood.

When Jie Jingchen said "fixed," he just meant that Xiao Wang could now get in and the door could close.

Jie Jingchen walked past Sun’s mother, radiating a terrifying, hostile aura. Knowing she was in the wrong, Sun’s mother lowered her head, not daring to look at him.

Jie Jingchen went back to his room, and Shen Qing went back to hers. A moment later, she came out, walked over to Sun Tong, and gave her a red envelope.

"Thank you, Second Aunt," Sun Tong said without hesitation. Her little aunt had taught her to happily accept any red envelope she was given.

"Such a good girl, Tongtong." Shen Qing ruffled Sun Tong’s hair, said nothing more, and left for work.

Shen Qing had a cold personality, but Jie Jingling didn’t mind.

"Take care on the road, Eldest Sister." Jie Jinghun gave Jie Jingling a hug and then left for work.

Jie Jingchen, Qin Mei, Jie Jingshan, Sun Tong, and Jie Jingling ate in the kitchen. Sun’s mother and Sun Dexiang were too embarrassed to join them.

"Sun Dexiang, what’s in that head of yours? Shit?" Sun’s mother sat on the edge of the bed, berating her daughter in frustration.

"Mom, you have to think of a way. I don’t want to go back," Sun Dexiang pleaded, looking pitifully at Sun’s mother.
