Chapter 255: Rage Bait Successfully Unsuccessful

The woman laughed. In the time that she had spent on this floor, she had seen Jacob as a worthy enough opponent and wanted to feel the true extent of his power. That is, if he was in fact powerful and capable of giving her a proper fight.

“I don’t challenge.” Leena’s eyes glowed in a light purple hue. She raised a single hand, causing a large dark cloud to spread out in the skies, as far as the eye could see. “I conquer.”

With a downward wave of her hands, thick streaks of lightning began to crash into the earth around Jacob, forming craters of rubble big enough to contain a dozen corpses at a single time.

Lightning flickered wildly in the air as Jacob simply jumped around agilely, his hair waving around as he moved through the thick atmosphere, evading every single bolt of lightning. It was as though he could predict where the next bolt was going to strike, and that was because he could.

Jacob side-stepped, dodging another flash that struck the ground just beside him. What was most fascinating about her lightning powers was that they were so fast, the earth only crumbled after the streaks had vanished into the atmosphere. Jacob leaped away just in time as another crater was formed.

“Squirmy little vermin, aren’t ya?” Leena smiled knowingly and raised the second hand. Another wave of lightning appeared. The rate at which they crashed onto the ground from the sky increased drastically. But Jacob still avoided them with insulting ease, ungrazed and unfazed by even a single one.

…

Just before Leena’s eyes, the handsome, white-haired man who stood before her multiplied. In place of what was once a single young man, now stood a thousand. All were the same person, a single attribute not left out of detail. Jacob had created a thousand clones of himself, enough to be an army.

“I see you have your own tricks.” Leena brought her second hand down with conviction, like a judge passing a verdict. Lightning tore rapidly across the expanse of the land as Jacob’s 1000 clones charged violently at her, mirroring only a fraction of his speed.

Elyssara’s face was bright red. Her wetness had already begun to drip on the floor, considering the seats were inclined forwards a little. But she couldn’t care less. ‘Oh my! He can clone himself!? Ugh. 1000 sausages would be the highlight of my life. I need nothing else~’ she mused. A plethora of impure thoughts ran rampant in her head.

Cloning was the only ability Jacob possessed that had a limit—until this exact moment. Usually, they could only possess a fraction of his power, as some of his cheats were not limitless at the time. He instantly buffed them up, and there was no longer any difference between the clones and the main body.

1000? How was Leena going to deal with 1000 Jacobs who possessed absolutely no limits whatsoever?

The young woman smiled, all while the lightning barrage still ruptured across the earth. She gripped both pigtails in her hands and spun them around, the light reflecting off the blades that were tied to the ends of them.

The blades hummed faintly as she stilled herself. She knew it was inevitable for at least 600 of the number to reach her at the same time. She needed a plan, at all costs.

They inched closer. Leena racked her brain thoroughly. She needed a way out of this situation. And then it hit her. She was a woman. Maybe if she could somehow bruise Jacob’s ego….

“So you have to use 1000 clones just to fight me. You must be scared.” She smiled as her voice echoed across the arena, traveling directly into Jacob’s ears.

The young man thought about it for a second and instantly knew what she was trying to do. “Regardless of what you think, I prefer having an overwhelming advantage. But if you want to face me one-on-one, then I will gladly give you that chance.” With a single thought, all the clones dissipated in a shadow-like manner.

Leena widened her eyes. Jacob knew she was only trying to bruise his ego and get in his mind, but there was no better way to flip this around than to beat her at her own game.

Leena hadn’t expected Jacob to take them away so quickly. In fact, she would have appreciated it if they had a little debate about it beforehand, but Jacob took the bait rather easily… or so she thought.

“Now it’s just me and you. You’ve already seen that your little fireworks are redundant. Come at me with all you’ve got.” Jacob got into a martial arts fighting stance.

“I love a man like you. Your confidence is through the roof. I can’t wait to humble you.” Leena licked her lips, admiring Jacob for a fraction of a second before grabbing her ponytails and spinning her bladed hair in the air one more time.

…

Elyssara sat in the crowd. A faint look of disappointment spread across her face. “Aw. The clones are gone.”

She looked across, over at Romstad, who was completely immersed in the battle, even though it was not displayed in his expression.

“No matter… the clones are meant for me and me alone. I can’t wait to milk all 1000 sausages.” She muttered to herself finally and re-affixed her gaze on the battle.

…

Jacob and Leena gazed at one another with faint gleams in their eyes. The only reason Leena was able to bypass the ‘No Weapons’ rule was because of the fact that these blades were only attached to her hair through magical means, meaning they were, and had been, part of her for as long as she could remember.

The gap between them was not too far. Leena had a wide smile on her face, showcasing each and every one of her 30 shark-like teeth. Jacob, however, stood with a calm expression, breathing in and out as he looked at the girl through unwavering eyes.

In less than a fraction of a second, they both dashed at one another….
