Vayburn did not panic. He merely stilled himself as his body began to glow in a radiant golden hue. He steadied his breathing, and his hair was instantly washed completely gold.

Jacob was simply moving at a speed that was imperceptible to him. This was Vayburn’s final form: Heavenly Swordmaster. In this form, Vayburn had complete mastery and divine knowledge of any blade that was held within his grasp. He would be able to manipulate any blade better than any master that existed in his world.

Jacob’s initial plan was to just overwhelm the man with a nonstop barrage of invisible attacks, but now that Vayburn had gone into his final form, he could see Jacob’s movements, albeit extremely swiftly, but he could follow them fairly well.

The man held his sword with both hands. Vayburn was not much of a hand-to-hand combat person, which was why he took the benefactor as quickly as possible to enable him to use his sword properly. With a sword, this man was probably unrivaled in any world.

Vayburn was also a reincarnator, just like Jacob. In his past life, he had been killed by the sword of a mafia boss. But what was interesting was that he was given a chance to reincarnate in the same world and take revenge on the person who brought about his demise.

The ability that followed was complete mastery of any sword art or technique that ever existed anywhere, and also the ability to see about 5 seconds into the future, so no one would be able to dodge his attacks.

Jacob’s future knowledge could see farther than Vayburn’s sight could, and hence, he was able to dodge the man’s attacks three steps before he even created them.

...

Vayburn gritted his teeth secretly behind his lips and began to follow the boy relentlessly, slashing very deep cuts in the air around Jacob as the boy managed to evade every single one.

Vayburn’s body twisted and turned in unnatural ways as he reenacted every single technique that resided within his mind. He was spinning in the air and flipping on the ground continuously as Jacob dodged and weaved through the air as though he were performing a majestic dance.

Jacob decided to counter. He threw a punch aimed at Vayburn’s jaw, but the man dodged low, quickly spun around the young man, and swung his sword down on Jacob’s bare back with all the force and energy he could muster.

...

The crowd gasped. This was the first hit that Jacob had taken throughout the tournament, but what was more surprising to both Vayburn and the rest of the people seated was that they had expected this sword to cut right through the young man. Instead, there was a loud metallic ring that felt as though Vayburn’s blade had struck another piece of metal.

The blade vibrated all the way to Vayburn’s fingers and caused him to wince, as he had never felt something like that before.

"Gotcha!" Jacob said as he turned his head. He looked at Vayburn through brightly gleaming bluish-gold eyes and smiled triumphantly.

Vayburn was still in shock, as it appeared that there was no obstacle blocking his blade from cutting Jacob’s skin. In fact, Jacob’s skin was the obstacle. The blade had refused to pierce him in any way, shape, or form.

In a flash, even faster than lightning, Jacob turned and, with a forbidden technique, placed the back of his palm on one side of Vayburn’s blade and the wrist of his other palm on the opposite side.

The blade instantly shattered like broken glass and scattered across the stony slab on which they stood. Vayburn’s utter stupefaction increased even further, along with the gasps from the crowd that was watching.

"Oh, Jacob!~" Elyssara gasped, and then covered her nose and mouth with a handkerchief, her face burning bright red in excitement. She was an eerie woman.

Jacob did not even wait for the pieces of the blade to fall completely before he threw a heavy punch that seemed to tear through Vayburn’s belly, causing the man to spit out a glob of blood onto the ground and be pushed back a few meters away from Jacob.

Jacob’s eyes were gleaming with battle lust. The boy seemed to go into a state of pure euphoria as he did not even let Vayburn rest. He immediately rushed the man again, not giving him a moment’s peace.

He leaned his body backwards and swung his foot upwards with tremendous swiftness, directly hitting Vayburn’s chin with the sole of his foot. The air around the man’s head expanded due to the impact, and he was sent flying straight up into the air.

Jacob was not done yet. A portal opened up above him, its edges distorted with flashes of dark lightning flickering around them.

Vayburn’s near-unconscious body flew into the portal, then another one materialized on the ground. Vayburn immediately exited it as though he were levitating, and Jacob threw another hard punch at the man’s abdomen, flinging him a few meters away.

Vayburn was completely bloodied by now, with a broken jaw and a crimson-stained torso. Jacob treated him like a ball, throwing him around until he could not move anymore.

His benefactor, the Blade God, sat in the crowd with an angry and confused expression on his face.

’Who is this kid?’ was the first thought that crossed his mind as he watched the total battering of the fighter that he had put all his resources into. ’I have to recruit him too.’

Elyssara, on the other hand, sat on her side of the auditorium and watched Jacob with a lustful glint in her eyes.

’Most men cannot resist me at all. I will have you tonight, Jacob,’ she mused inwardly, with a playful smile on her lips.

Many eyes were on Jacob now, and the boy knew about all of it, but he did not particularly care, as he only focused on his goal.

Beating Vayburn was fairly easy, but he was happy for his advancement. The easier the tower was, the quicker he could finish it.

He still had Drammond to worry about. He needed to see how powerful the young man truly was...
