Jacob undoubtedly felt uneasy whenever he was around Allicent, but it was not because of her behavior or the way she talked. It was more about the energy she exuded. Maybe it was because of her status as a vampire. Maybe it was the curse. She just had an energy around her that did not sit right with him.

But he wasn’t thinking about that right now. He was more focused on the big decision he was about to make at the end of the day, a decision that would certainly take him a step further in his evolution.

He finished his sign-in rather easily while Allicent sat there on the grass picking her nose. She still carried that handkerchief, which was now partly covered in mucus, and kept it in her dress pocket.

Jacob looked at the rewards he had earned for today. It wasn’t the strongest, but it was something that would definitely be handy in every battle he participated in going forward.

The students of this academy were very obviously not up to the level Jacob had wished, and he felt a tad sad about it. If even Allicent felt bored because she saw no strong people at the academy, then how much more him? He was, at least, yet to see any worthy opponent in the first year.

Maybe the power level increased considerably in the second and third years, but it was still a maybe.

<Ding!>

<You have completed your sign-in quest>

<You have gained new passive skill: Fated Strike>

<Description:

Fate guides every physical attack you make, granting each strike a 100% chance of hitting its target. Your physical attacks cannot miss or fail due to accuracy or evasion, ensuring every blow connects successfully.>

Jacob’s lips curled secretly upwards as he stared at the reward. He was certainly happy as he looked at the translucent screen that hovered directly in his peripheral vision.

Fated Strike meant that every physical attack he launched had a 100% chance of hitting his enemy, meaning that he could never miss a hit, no matter what evasion technique his opponent employed.

Even if the hit was not directly aimed at the person, as long as he thought about hitting the person, even from a 100-mile distance, his blow would still connect. It was undoubtedly a very helpful skill.

"So, big brother is gonna go back to his girlfriend noww?" Allicent’s lips curved downward into a frown as she stood up from the ground, following behind Jacob, who had already begun exiting the forest.

"Most likely..."

Allicent appeared lost in thought for a moment, and then twisted her mouth into a wry smile as a thought seemed to drop into her head, as though a lightbulb had appeared directly over it.

"Big brother Jacob, fight me." Her eyes flashed sinisterly as she immediately activated her blood manipulation skill. A pool of blood formed in the air directly above her head.

That pool of blood immediately turned into a large, curved blade aimed directly at Jacob’s back. It swung downward through the air with deathly precision as the girl smiled with a hint of anticipation glinting in her eyes.

As she was small and often perceived as inconsequential, her greatest power was her ability to work in the shadows, ambush her enemies, and use the element of surprise to her advantage.

Jacob had known beforehand what her intentions were, but he said nothing. Just as the large, curved, crimson, blade-like pool of blood darted at tremendous speed towards his nape, the blood instantly liquefied and floated in the air.

Allicent’s eyes widened as she attempted to control the blood, but she had lost total control over it. Jacob had not even so much as turned around when the large pool of blood suddenly materialized into seven different spear-like structures with extremely sharp points, aimed directly at Allicent’s face.

She gasped in shock, but then her gasp turned into a broad smile, and a teardrop appeared to run down her left cheek. She clutched at her chest and began laughing frantically. It soon turned into maniacal laughter, bordering on insanity.

Her laughter echoed throughout the forest. Jacob turned back to look at her now, confused as to why the girl was laughing so much.

"B-Big brother Jacob! I can’t begin to explain how happy you make me." Her body shivered from the overwhelming joy she felt in that exact moment as she stared up into the sky as though she had had some kind of epiphany.

"I will not fight you, Allicent. I know that’s why you followed me here, but I have important things to do. Besides, you’re not strong enough yet." Jacob’s eyes had a faint glint in them as he looked down at the girl with nothing but a flat expression.

Allicent’s mouth opened instantly, but not from shock—from utter excitement. "Finally, I’ve found you, the one I will spend the rest of my pathetic existence with... Please tell me how I can serve you, big brother Jacob..."

Jacob’s face immediately twisted into disgust, and he now looked down upon the girl with nothing but disdain. He decided in that moment that he had had enough of the little girl.

With a single thought, a jet-black swirling portal materialized behind Allicent. Its edges were warped and had tiny flickers of black lightning around them. Allicent had seemingly not noticed it yet, as she had been too busy celebrating finding her dream man.

Jacob bent over to look at her face to face, and the girl suddenly blushed redder than her eyes and puckered her lips to kiss the young man, but Jacob placed a hand on her forehead and pushed her into the portal. The warped construct suddenly vanished in front of him, and the vampire girl was gone, at least for now.

He could now focus on other things.

At least, on getting back to the dorm and meeting up with Violet—whom he was already missing—in class.

He sighed as he teleported directly to his room. He did not want to alert the school guards to his presence.
