He scaled the fence rather easily, without breaking a sweat or missing a beat. The vast expanse of land spread out before him, bathed completely in the morning glow of the sun. He took in a deep breath and then...

ZOOM!

He darted almost immediately, and at full speed, propelling himself off the cliff, into the dark abyss that lay below. But it wasn’t an abyss; it was just that the ground was so far that it was difficult to see the terrain below. His body twisted in the air. It seemed as though the wind responded to every single one of his movements as he gradually fell into the dark.

In less than a few seconds, he landed with relative ease between two tall trees, covered in long, dark green leaves. His long white hair bounced on his shoulders as his eyes gleamed in bright bluish-yellow colors.

He did not even wait for a moment before taking off, deeper into the forest. The wind raced past him as he moved faster than the human eyes could even comprehend, jumping over wooden logs and dodging branches as easily as breathing.

The breeze permeated every single fiber of the clothing he had on and blew his hair backwards as he pushed forward. At this rate, he would complete the run in no time.

...

While he ran, even in the thick, clouded forest, he could feel the soft breeze on his skin as a result of the tremendous speed he moved with. He noticed something out of the corner of his eyes. The figure was in bright colors, moving at the same speed as he was.

This figure moved from right to left, and then to the right again, as though it were hunting him down. Jacob was not pleased as he saw this. In fact, all the adrenaline pumping through his blood seemed to reduce significantly as he noticed this figure.

He stopped in his tracks and sighed. Not a single bead of sweat crossed his forehead, and his breathing was as calm as it was before he started running, signifying how easily he was able to complete such a task. The figure seemed to stop along with him. At first glance, it would look like he was being hunted by some creature in the woods. Maybe a dire wolf, or a tiger, maybe even a Barbary lion.

But Jacob knew exactly what it was... or WHO it was. He sighed again and rolled his eyes while he picked up a tiny pebble from the ground.

"Are you going to keep following me in this manner?" He raised his voice loud enough for anyone in a 10–perhaps 20-meter radius—to hear.

The forest was so thick that even the slightest of sounds echoed alongside the slight rustling of leaves and wind, so there was no way in which the person, or creature following him would not hear the question he asked.

Yet there was no response. Jacob grew impatient. He was not one to enjoy unwanted company, and he certainly did not like being followed. If anyone wanted to confront him, he would prefer it be face-to-face. He did not show any mercy to ambushers. He tossed the pebble in his hand and closed his eyes. He tossed the pebble one more time and threw it westward, into the dark.

...

"Ow!" A voice shouted from beyond the trees, a very familiar one. Jacob had closed his eyes to be dramatic. The truth was that he had known from the beginning the exact direction where the stalker was and planned to use the stone to draw the party out.

"Gotcha, you can come out now." Jacob said, a faint smirk appearing on his face as he watched the once shadowy figure emerge from between two dark tree barks. Wearing the same white gown, with her white hair scattered atop her head, her dark crimson eyes and white fangs gazing upon him with what seemed like a teardrop running down her right cheek, was Allicent Nyvanz.

She looked as though she had just risen from a long slumber as she rubbed her eye, wiping the teardrop away and looking up at him with puppy eyes.

"Big brother Jacob, you keep hurting me!" She shouted aloud, her lips quivering as though she were about to burst into a long stream of tears.

"Well, maybe if you would walk up to me like a normal person and say good morning, then I would not have to throw stones at you." He gazed at her blankly as he dusted himself off.

Jacob was such that one may call an extremely hygienic person. He did not particularly like stains, or even specks of dust on his body or clothes. Due to his very high observation skills, he was very perceptive of such things and therefore would occasionally appear to dust himself off. Where a normal human eye would see an otherwise clean shirt, Jacob saw tiny specks of dust that had to be eliminated.

"Well... little sister was just protecting her big brother, that’s all." Allicent’s quivering lips immediately curved into a bright smile that showcased her snow-white fangs to Jacob, and she almost looked as though she were floating in the air.

"What are you doing here, Allicent? You should return to the dorms." Jacob pushed past her as he prepared to continue his run. He still had a few meters to run. He also needed to reach a clearing so he could complete the rest of his objectives.

He had decided that he would make a decision concerning the Tower of Sun today, after seeing Violet.

"I wondered..." Allicent followed directly behind, refusing to leave him alone. "What does Big Brother Jacob do every morning? But now I see that Big Brother is very dedicated and hardworking. Must be why he is so strong."

She snickered quietly as she followed closely behind him.

She was extremely fast, a trait that vampires possessed innately, but Jacob had only been moving at 20% of his actual speed, and if he in fact wanted to vanish from this little girl’s gaze, he could do so in an instant.

"Big brother, you know. It’s just me and you in this forest. So you can do with your little sister as you please...."
