Reborn as the Top Omega Hunter: My Alpha Hears My Inner Thoughts [BL]
Chapter 89: He Would Never Speak In That Tone
The person frowned a little, looking a bit annoyed. "What are you even saying? Are you still in your dreams? You don’t have a name right now... But maybe after you completed a few higher-level missions and officially joined the organization, then maybe you would be given one."
After saying so, he turned around and walked away, leaving Shen Qingyi standing in place, staring at his back. When his figure had completely disappeared in her sight, she closed the door with a soft click before laying down on the bed.
Everything is so strange over here...
How could I not have a name? I remember my name is...
Suddenly, Shen Qingyi froze for a second, as she found out that she was totally unable to remember what her name was...
She had a feeling that the name was super important to her. It was a gift given to her by someone very important, but she could barely remember who he was.
The harder she tried to recall it, the more blurred the memory became. The sensation had almost caused her to collapse.
"Qingyi...? Shen Qingyi!"
An anxious voice suddenly rose in her mind, bringing her out of her thoughts.
"Who... who is it?" she asked tentatively. She looked around cautiously, as if a cat was slowly sneaking its claws out.
There was no response at all. Just as she let out a soft laugh of self-mockery, the voice rose in her mind again, and it was even clearer than before.
That wasn’t my imagination!
Realizing this, she quickly sat up from the bed and looked around at every corner of the room, but there was no one around.
Shen Qingyi: "...?"
She climbed out of bed and asked again, "Is anyone there?" It was nearly a whisper as she did not dare to speak out loud, afraid that she might attract the attention of the others in this place.
Still, there was no response. She lowered her hand, and her eyes started to turn empty again. Suddenly, fragments of memories flashed through her mind. She saw a young man who reached out his hand toward her, but she could not remember who he was.
She bent down from the stabbing pain from her heart, sweat rolling down her forehead as she slowly dropped to the floor. Who is he? Why can’t I remember?
Just as her consciousness was about to drown into the darkness, she somehow recalled the scene of the person standing in front of him, asking if she wanted to leave with him.
She forced herself to lift her head and finally saw his face. It was her brother... Shen Qingci.
Her memories returned, which she immediately stood up to her feet. She ignored the pain coming from her body and stepped out of the room. She walked through the hallway, and there were some people who noticed her, asking where she’s going, though she ignored all those voices.
She walked toward the direction where the door is without hesitation. The people around her were trying to stop her, but she knew that these were all just her illusion. She’s no longer the young girl who had once struggled desperately just to survive in this word. Now, she had family and friends, so she would not hesitate anymore.
"I have already put in a request for you to advance to a higher position in the organization. You can start taking on high-level missions now. You should know that once you advance, you could get all you wanted before: money, equipment, power—anything that you desire."
"Are you actually gonna leave this place? Are you really willing to give up on all of these things?" a person suddenly demanded from behind.
Shen Qingyi turned around and realized that the person who spoke was her former instructor... the person who provided her a chance to survive by throwing her out in the snow during the winter days without directly killing her.
"I won’t be willing to stay in a place built from blood. There will be a day where I will erase this organization from this world!" she said as she turned back and continued walking. "Also, don’t speak in that tone, he would never talk like that."
After saying so, she directly jumped off the cliff and closed her eyes, letting the howling wind rush past her.
"Qingyi! Qingyi!!"
When she opened her eyes again, she felt warm tears falling onto her face. She lifted her head and let out a soft smile as she wiped off the tears that were slipping from the corners of her brother’s eyes.
"Brother..." she called out, her voice sounding weak.
Hearing her voice, Shen Qingci seemed to come back to his senses as he quickly pulled Shen Qingyi into her arms, his hands trembling.
"Qingyi, how are you feeling right now? Anywhere uncomfortable?" Shen Qingci quickly asked as he slowly let go of her.
Shen Qingyi was stunned for a moment before she replied gently, "I’m okay, brother. I just remembered some things from the past... sorry to make you worry."
Shen Qingci clenched his fist tightly when he heard her talking about the past. "There would definitely be a day when I find where they all are and erase them from this world," he promised.
Just at this time, Song Yuan had suddenly walked out from the darkness and clapped his hands.
The sound immediately caught their attention. Shen Qingci stood up and asked, "Vice principal, as for what happened before... Did you do it?"
His tone was somewhat hostile, but Song Yuan didn’t seem to mind. "I did not do anything. What happened just before was an obstacle that the building created for you," he explained slowly.
"The building...?"
"That’s right. If you don’t believe me, then just turn around and look right behind you," Song Yuan said. The group followed his instructions and were all surprised to realize that the originally emptied hallway was now filled with all kinds of equipment and materials.
