Reborn as The Seventh Prince of Eternal Winter
Chapter 115: THE END OF AN ANCIENT EVIL
Chapter 115: Chapter 115: THE END OF AN ANCIENT EVIL
The remnants of the elemental attack lingered in the air like a curse that refused to fade. Thick fog spread across the ruined battlefield, clinging to broken Stones and shattered ground with an almost sentient persistence. The magical energy that had been unleashed moments before still crackled through the atmosphere, making each breath feel like swallowing glass.
Visibility had become nearly impossible.
Lyra pressed her hand against her mouth, struggling to draw air into her lungs. The fog pressed against her skin, cold and suffocating, carrying the acrid scent of ozone and burning stone. She could barely see her own hand in front of her face, let alone the center of the destruction where Theon had stood.
"Can anyone see through this fog?" Silver’s voice cut through the haze, strained and desperate.
"No," Seraphina answered, her voice trembling. "The fog is too thick. I can’t sense anything through it."
Ifrith remained silent. His eyes were fixed on the spot where Theon had been, his ancient senses straining against the magical interference. He could feel something—a presence, vast and cold, building in the heart of the destruction. But he couldn’t confirm what it was.
Lazaria struggled to her feet, her body still weak from her injuries. "Theon," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Please be alive."
The fog continued to swirl around them, thick and unyielding, as if the battlefield itself was mourning what had just occurred.
Then—
A powerful gust of wind tore through the battlefield.
The fog scattered violently, torn apart by forces that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at once. The ruined surroundings slowly became visible—the cracked ground, the shattered rocks, the remnants of the barrier that had trapped them all inside.
And in the center of the destruction, standing completely upright, Theon was visible.
Lyra felt her heart stop.
Theon stood at the heart of the devastation, his body untouched by the cataclysm that had descended upon them. His clothes were torn in places, his skin marked with cuts and bruises, but he was standing and breathing.
His presence alone dominated the battlefield.
Theon’s appearance had changed.
His eyes were now pure icy blue—no longer the warm brown that Lyra remembered, but something ancient and cold. They glowed faintly in the dim light, radiating a power that made the air around him feel heavy.
His expression was completely calm.
There was no fear in his face. No hesitation. No indication that he had just survived an attack that should have annihilated him. His entire presence felt colder than before, as if the warmth of humanity had been replaced by something far more ancient.
In his hands, he held NIVARETH.
The Eternal Frostblade had awakened.
Frost radiated constantly from the blade, streams of frozen mist curling upward into the air. The temperature around it dropped noticeably, thin layers of ice forming across nearby surfaces. The sword emitted an ancient, oppressive presence that made even Ifrith take a step back.
The combination of Theon and NIVARETH transformed the battlefield. The air itself seemed to crystallize around them, the ground beneath Theon’s feet coated in a thin layer of frost that spread outward like veins of silver.
The characters watching them immediately understood that something had fundamentally changed.
This was no longer the same Theon who had entered the battle.
Asmodeus stared at Theon.
Genuine shock crossed his features—an expression that had not graced his face in centuries. His attack was supposed to be overwhelming. It was powerful enough that surviving it should have been nearly impossible. He had poured elemental destruction into a single point, had compressed the fury of the world into a single devastating strike.
Yet Theon hadn’t merely survived.
He had erased it.
Asmodeus’s mind raced, trying to comprehend what he was seeing. Theon stood before him, NIVARETH in hand, surrounded by an aura of absolute power. The attack that should have erased him had done nothing.
"This is impossible."
Asmodeus’s confidence began to collapse.
As he looked at Theon, at the icy blue eyes that held no emotion, Asmodeus understood something he had never understood before.
That he may actually lose this battle
The realization was like ice spreading through his veins.
Behind Theon, Lyra finally saw him clearly through the clearing fog.
Her breath caught in her throat.
"You’re okay, big brother."
The words left her mouth before she could stop them, her voice breaking through the heavy silence that had settled over the battlefield. There was relief in her voice, pure and unfiltered, the kind of relief that only came from seeing someone you loved survive against impossible odds.
Theon’s expression softened slightly when he heard her.
He turned his head toward Lyra and the others, his icy blue eyes meeting hers for just a moment. The coldness in his gaze flickered, replaced briefly by something warmer—something that reminded her of the brother she had grown up with, the brother who had always protected her.
Then the coldness returned.
Theon looked toward Lyra, toward Ifrith, toward Lazaria, Silver, and Seraphina. He could see the fear on their faces, the uncertainty, the desperate hope that clung to them like a lifeline.
He immediately recognized that the battle had reached its final stage.
"This is no longer your battle," Theon said, his voice calm and absolute. "Stay back."
There was no anger in his command. No frustration. Just cold certainty—the kind of certainty that came from knowing exactly how this would end.
The meaning behind the command was clear: this was no longer their fight.
Theon turned his attention away from them.
His eyes settled on Asmodeus.
The atmosphere changed.
Theon looked directly at Asmodeus.
No anger. No shouting. No dramatic emotional outburst. Just cold stare—the absolute conviction of someone who had already decided how this would end.
Asmodeus felt his blood run cold.
He understood what Theon’s expression meant. There was no negotiation in those icy blue eyes, no possibility of mercy or retreat. Theon had already decided his fate.
Asmodeus’s mind raced, searching for options, for escape routes, for anything that might preserve his existence. He had survived for millennia by being smarter than his enemies, by having contingencies for every possibility. But as he looked at Theon, at the aura of absolute power that surrounded him, Asmodeus realized that his contingencies meant nothing.
Continuing the fight was pointless.
Asmodeus attempted to retreat, using whatever remaining power he possessed. His form flickered as he tried to teleport to create distance, to find any path that might lead to survival.
The attempt was desperate rather than strategic. For an ancient evil that once believed itself untouchable, it was humiliating.
As asmodeus tried to flee Theon watched him. Then he spoke.
"You’re not going anywhere."
The statement hung in the air like a death sentence. There was no threat in Theon’s voice—just an absolute statement of fact.
And Asmodeus knew, with absolute certainty, that it was true.
Theon rose into the sky.
His body slowly lifted above the battlefield, his movements unhurried and controlled. NIVARETH remained in his hand, its frost radiating outward in waves of cold that made the air itself crystallize.
His aura expanded.
The surrounding temperature plummeted. Clouds began forming above the battlefield, their undersides dark with the promise of snow. The atmosphere itself began freezing, the moisture in the air turning to ice crystals that glittered like diamonds in the dim light.
Asmodeus looked upward, his ancient eyes wide with terror.
He realized what was coming.
Theon raised NIVARETH toward the sky.
"Absolute Genesis — Frozen Empire."
The words were spoken calmly, almost softly, yet they carried the weight of absolute power.
A massive blizzard erupted from Theon’s power.
The battlefield became engulfed in an overwhelming frozen domain. Violent snowstorms tore through the air, visibility dropping to nothing as white walls of snow closed in from all sides. Freezing winds howled across the ground, their temperature so low that the very air began to crystallize.
Enormous ice formations erupted from the ground, jagged spires of frozen destruction that rose toward the sky like the teeth of some ancient beast. The ground froze rapidly, layers of ice spreading across its surface with frightening speed. Structures that had survived the previous destruction were now encased in thick layers of frost, their forms barely visible through the snow and ice.
The sky became covered in snow and frost, clouds so thick that they blocked out what little light remained. Asmodeus found himself trapped inside the frozen domain, his movements sluggish as the cold sapped his strength.
The attack did not feel like ordinary ice magic.
It felt like Theon imposing an entire frozen world onto reality—a realm where cold was not merely a condition but the fundamental law of existence.
Asmodeus attempted to resist and tried to escape.
He used whatever remaining power he possessed, summoning fire and lightning and shadow in desperate attempts to break through the frozen domain. But the Frozen Empire continued overwhelming him, its power too vast and too absolute.
His movements became slower and his body became covered in frost.
Eventually, Asmodeus crashed down.
The battlefield shook from the impact.
Theon descended after him.
He landed near Asmodeus, his feet touching the frozen ground with barely a sound. There was no celebration in his expression, no smile of victory, no hesitation. He simply walked toward the fallen Primordial Demon, NIVARETH raised and ready.
Asmodeus looked up.
In that moment Asmodeus understood that there was absolutely no path to victory. No contingency. No hidden escape. No backup plan.
He was going to die.
Theon prepared the finishing physical strike.
"Absolute Genesis — Divine Frost Strike."
Then he swung NIVARETH.
The attack was incredibly precise rather than wild—a single devastating slash that carried the weight of absolute purpose. The sword’s power tore through Asmodeus, its edge cutting through flesh and bone and soul with equal ease.
The impact froze his body.
Ice spread across him rapidly, starting from the wound and expanding outward in crystalline patterns. His form became encased in an enormous frozen shell, his expression frozen in the moment of understanding.
For a moment, everything became silent.
Then—
CRACK.
The frozen body began to fracture.
The ice shattered, fragments scattering across the battlefield. Pieces of frozen flesh and crystalized bone exploded outward, their remnants glittering like fallen stars in the dim light.
It appeared that Asmodeus had been destroyed.
But Theon noticed something.
Theon looked toward the remnants of Asmodeus.
His physical body was gone—scattered across the frozen battlefield in a thousand glittering fragments. But something was moving through the air, something that shimmered with an energy that Theon recognized.
Asmodeus’s soul.
The Primordial Demon’s soul was attempting to escape, its form barely visible against the falling snow. It moved with desperate speed, trying to flee the battlefield, trying to preserve its existence.
This was why Asmodeus had survived the previous attack. His physical body had never been the true target—his soul was the true vessel of his existence, the thing that allowed him to reincarnate and return.
Asmodeus believed he could still survive.
He desperately attempted to escape, his soul streaking through the air like a comet of fading light.
But Theon noticed him and his expression did not change as he refused to allow it
Then he raised his hands.
Dark energy began forming around Asmodeus’s escaping soul—power that was not the cold of the Frozen Empire, but something far deeper. Black thorns emerged from the surrounding space, their surfaces gleaming with an obsidian sheen that seemed to drink the light.
The thorns twisted together, forming a massive cage of jagged darkness. Its bars pulsed with a terrible energy, each spike radiating an aura of absolute finality.
The cage closed around Asmodeus’s soul.
Asmodeus was trapped.
His soul slammed against the black bars, desperate and terrified. He tried to push through, to find any gap, any weakness, any escape. But the cage held firm, its structure unyielding.
Asmodeus’s desperation reached its peak.
He realized that Theon wasn’t simply destroying his body anymore.
He was targeting his very existence.
"Theon!" Asmodeus’s voice echoed from the cage, a thousand times smaller than it had been before. "Theon, please! I can give you anything! Power! Immortality! The world!"
Theon did not respond.
"Anything you want!" Asmodeus continued, his voice growing more desperate. "I can tell you secrets that have been buried for millennia! I can give you knowledge that would make you a god!"
Theon raised NIVARETH.
"I’ll serve you!" Asmodeus screamed. "I’ll be your servant! Your slave! Anything! Just—"
Theon’s expression remained emotionless.
He looked at Asmodeus’s trapped soul, at the ancient evil that had terrorized the world for millennia, at the being that had destroyed lives and manipulated entire kingdoms.
There was no hatred in his voice.
Only finality.
