Chapter 1427: Elizabeth’s perseverance

The guests watching this race were thrilled. Their attention was placed fully on the ongoing battle for first. Though, it was clear that the Vanderbilts would eventually win the race.

At least, that’s what they thought.

Suddenly, a newcomer began to emerge from the contestants.

A flat-looking car weaved through its competitors, expertly braking at the curves and losing minimal speed before immediately accelerating forwards at the moment the road turned straight.

Elizabeth was a pro when it came to shifting gears. Michael could even say that she could play against the pros of Earth in an F1 race and win against them with the kind of skills that she was exhibiting.

She was a natural when it came to the wheels.

In fact, she would have already reached first place if it weren’t for the game-breaking Aubility Powers that her competitors used.

She faced cars that could literally hover in the air. She had to tussle against cars that defied the laws of gravity, with their speed increasing in the curve rather than slowing down.

The battle of Nascent Influences made her feel like an ant in a battle against titans.

But she persevered. She stayed away from trouble. Steered away whenever someone was about to crash into her, even if she had to lose a few positions in order to do so.

She let her own driving skills do the talking.

Eventually, their Nascent Influences would run out. They would reach a point where their drivers would be exhausted from using up all of their powers. She just waited for that moment. So in the meanwhile, she bided her time and remained neutral.

At this moment, there were only four laps left till the conclusion of the race.

She was in 10th place. A stark contrast to the position she was in at the start of this competition.

But now, she was up against cars with dangerous Influences.

When she overtook a car, they retaliated with a powerful shockwave that had knocked away other cars and sent them flying into the stands.

Elizabeth’s car would have ended up the same.

But it was at this moment that a strange, golden glow emanated from the F1 car.

This glow created a protective shield that defended against the Nascent Influence shockwave, nullifying it completely and allowing Elizabeth to drive forwards unimpeded. Now, she was in 9th place.

"Woah! That car has good defense!"

"And the driver was fast too. I seem to remember it being in last place!"

"And they’re in 9th place right now? That’s impressive."

It was at this point that many others finally began to take notice of Elizabeth. That ’R’ symbol on her car marked her as the Reborn company’s very own automobile.

"I would have expected Reborn to perform well..."

"They’re fighting against Conglomerates. What did you think would happen? It’s already impressive they’re getting 9th place."

"Oh look. Now, their car is going to get mired down by the muddy waters."

On the front, the ship car unleashed another tsunami of muddy waters behind.

Most of the competitors immediately felt their cars slow down.

But not Elizabeth’s car.

The golden aura in its frame once again exploded out in a protective shield, defending it against the oppressive Nascent Influence of the Goldstone driver.

Elizabeth deftly took the inside line of the curve and overtook two cars to finally get 7th place!

"WHAT?!"

"How did they drive away unscathed?!"

"That’s a Nascent Influence from a Conglomerate!"

Now, even Erich, Euthenia, and the other Conglomerate heirs were forced to take notice of the Rebornian car.

They frowned and inspected Elizabeth’s car.

"That... that car has something weird in it," said Erich.

"It’s probably being protected by a very powerful Nascent Influence," said one of his engineers. "It could be from their leader.

"No," Erich replied. He looked up towards the VIP area where Michael sat.

"That kid’s Nascent Influence is powerful. But not this powerful. There’s something more that is imbued in that car. Something more defensive..."

Elizabeth fought more cars along the way as she jostled her way through track.

But even with stronger Aubility Powers trying to bully her way back, her car held steady. When a car tried to push her over the edge, the protective shield prevented her from being crushed.

When a car’s sharp, bladed rims tried to cut her wheels, the golden aura manifested and protected her car.

Nobody could understand how it was possible.

Elizabeth remained steadfast because of this protective shield. She was able to drive normally, allowing her to exhibit her driving skills to its limits.

Until finally, the F1 car reached 5th place.

In front of Elizabeth was Erich’s car. The monster truck had fallen behind compared to the rest.

But it wasn’t going to let her go ahead of him.

The monster truck tilted sideways, threatening to slam down its hard steel wheels directly onto Elizabeth’s head.

With the empowered Nascent Influence of the monster car, Elizabeth seemed to be in an extremely dangerous situation.

"Slow down or else you’re going to die!" Erich screamed from the garage.

But Elizabeth didn’t heed his warning. The monster truck slammed its wheels on top of the F1 car.

It was at this moment that golden nanoparticles appeared, creating a shield that fought against the monster truck’s Nascent Influence.

The two forces clashed. But in the end, the golden aura won out. It exploded outwards in retaliation, sending the monster truck tumbling sideways and crashing onto the walls.

"IMPOSSIBLE!" Erich screamed.

"No way!" Even the heirs from Sinclair’s Elixir were flabbergasted at this scene.

They were confident in their driver. With him consuming their pills, his Nascent Influence should have raised up by a single level, allowing it to defeat Michael’s Nascent Influence.

But it was at this moment that Erich finally noticed something.

That golden nanoparticles were tangible. They weren’t an aura. Meaning, it wasn’t fully made out of Nascent Influence.

Erich’s hairs stood on end as he realized something. "He’s... he used his Nascent Armor to enforce her car!"
