Chapter 3096: Chapter 3032: Well Done
"Veterinarian, veterinarian, yes, I think we should go find a veterinarian."
Ding Haijing said, "I know who to look for."
"You know a veterinarian?"
"There’s someone, not really a veterinarian, but he has many cats and dogs. I think he might know how to save Snow Ball."
Ding Haijing drove the car quickly.
Jiang Xiao sat in the back seat, knowing that at this time he was too distracted to look at her; his attention would surely be on driving and watching the road.
So along the way, she kept stroking Snow Ball’s belly, hoping to see if she could feed it some more Spring Water.
The person Ding Haijing found, he didn’t know his name, only that people around called him Old Uncle.
Old Uncle was already quite old, had a hunched back, wrinkles on his face like a sharp sword, and hair that was graying. Ding Haijing brought Jiang Xiao and rushed into his courtyard.
His door wasn’t closed, and they didn’t even knock but barged right in. Old Uncle was taken aback, but before he could ask who they were, Jiang Xiao had already held up Snow Ball in front of him.
"Old Uncle, my cat drowned. Can you save it?"
She didn’t know if she could still save Snow Ball since so much time had already passed.
Once Old Uncle saw the cat, he didn’t bother to say anything to them but immediately took the cat.
"Let me see, let me see."
He took Snow Ball over, and only then did Jiang Xiao feel she could finally exhale the breath she had been holding.
She watched the old man perform the rescue on Snow Ball, then turned her gaze, noticing there were many iron cages in the courtyard containing cats and dogs.
They were all common breeds.
They seemed to be carefully attended to, as the cages were kept clean, and there was no bad odor.
"Rest assured, Old Uncle will definitely be able to save Snow Ball," Ding Haijing said to her in a low voice.
Jiang Xiao nodded, "You stay here. I’ll go outside for some air."
"Go ahead, but don’t go too far."
"I’ll be just outside the door."
Jiang Xiao said this and walked out.
Ding Haijing sighed; was she afraid of hearing Old Uncle say Snow Ball couldn’t be saved and had died?
Jiang Xiao stood at the entrance, gazing at the sky.
Snow Ball was the first pet of two lifetimes she raised, and likely the last. She was inherently a rather indifferent person; having one cat seemed enough, more than that she’d feel her heart couldn’t be divided among others.
After all this time, she had just developed a deeper bond with Snow Ball, and then such an incident occurred.
Does the hatred of killing a cat need to be repaid with life?
Can a cat’s life be compared to a human’s?
But in her eyes, Nian Mutong’s life wasn’t even worth as much as Snow Ball’s.
"Xiao Chiang, come in."
No one knows how long it was, perhaps until Jiang Xiao’s feet started to ache, when Ding Haijing’s voice came from inside.
Jiang Xiao immediately turned and walked back inside.
She wasn’t someone who couldn’t accept reality.
It was inevitable to feel sad, and inevitable to seek revenge on Nian Mutong.
But as she had just walked in, she saw Ding Haijing coming towards her holding Snow Ball, and Snow Ball was laying across his arms with its eyes open.
Upon seeing her, Snow Ball meowed twice.
"Meow, meow."
Jiang Xiao immediately rushed over, took Snow Ball from Ding Haijing, and rubbed its body, "Snow Ball, you’re amazing!"
Holding on and not dying, that’s amazing!
Seeing her smile blossom, Ding Haijing sighed in relief.
"This cat has a lot of life; take good care of it. Such a beautiful white cat is rare." Old Uncle also came over and stroked Snow Ball’s fur.
