Xue Rui was left speechless by what Lin Ruoxi said.

The truth was, he just couldn’t relate to the pop songs that followed. He’d much rather listen to some classic oldies.

As the car slowly pulled over to the side of the road, Xue Rui reached for the door handle, only to find that she had locked the doors.

Feeling her soft, tender lips on his, Xue Rui let out a silent sigh of relief. He had just been scaring himself for nothing. Lin Ruoxi was still the same girl as always.

He gently nibbled her lip, and the corners of her tightly shut eyes unconsciously curved into a beautiful arc.

’She really is easy to please,’ he mused. ’A single kiss is enough to make her this happy.’

Peeking through half-lidded eyes, Xue Rui noticed a passerby on the sidewalk staring into their car.

A burly man caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye and noticed a couple kissing inside.

’Well, I’ll be. In a car, in broad daylight?’

’Huh? The woman’s the one driving, and she’s crawled over to the passenger side to practically devour the guy?’

’Something’s not right here. Better take another look.’

Xue Rui watched with his own eyes as the man walked past, only to turn his head back for another glance...

’Ah, whatever. As long as she’s happy,’ he thought.

After a long moment, she cradled his face, gave him a light kiss on the forehead, and then reluctantly returned to the driver’s seat.

"What do you mean, *I* forgot? You’re the one who forgot to give it to me," Xue Rui quickly passed the buck.

’What kind of girl kisses a guy on the forehead every day?’

’It was an unconscious gesture, proof that she was still spoiling him just like she always had...’

"Mm, my mistake." Lin Ruoxi admitted she was wrong almost instantly. She gave Xue Rui a timid glance. "Rui... can we eat in the car? Please?"

"Why?" Xue Rui asked, confused.

Lin Ruoxi stammered, "Because... if we get out of the car to eat... we’ll have to... turn off the air conditioning."

"Turning the compressor off and then on again uses a lot of electricity..."

With that, she glanced in the rearview mirror and jogged into a nearby liangpi shop.

After Lin Ruoxi had gone, Xue Rui opened his phone for a look. Li Ruihao had added him as a friend on QQ and sent him a private message with a photo.

"My girlfriend took this."

In the photo, a young woman was eating and laughing with a group of students dressed in military training uniforms.
