Rebirth: Saving the Lovely Girl from the Start
Chapter 406 - 304: Stop Writing That Essay, He’s Our Boss
He sought out students who held positions in the student council. They could guarantee that the off-campus Xigua cart would be allowed in and that the stand wouldn’t be driven away by the school. It was essentially paying for social connections, and 300 a day was a great deal.
As for the stand at their own school?
Since he had handled that one himself, the pay was only 60 a day, plus Xigua benefits.
"Should we consider applying for the operations role? The benefits look pretty good. The main thing is there’s no fixed office, so I could work while going to class with my girlfriend."
Xue Rui, acting perfectly at ease, walked up to the Xigua stand, picked up a slice of Xigua, and started eating. "Why not just tutor? Tutors from Jiao University must make at least 100 an hour, right?"
"Dude, don’t kid me. Tutoring is unstable, and besides, they always want female tutors."
Another person chimed in with a laugh, "With our skill level, would the high schooler be teaching me, or would I be teaching them? I’ve forgotten everything from high school. The only reason I passed the CET-4 was thanks to what little foundation I had left from back then."
The male student shot Xue Rui a dissatisfied glance. With a sharp CLACK, he snapped shut the folding fan in his hand, which read "Don’t Get Angry," and poked at the QR code in front of the ice chest. "Did you even scan the code before you started eating?"
This Xigua-eater before him hadn’t called him ’Senior,’ nor did he look familiar. His relaxed and overly familiar air made the student very uncomfortable.
Xue Rui tossed the Xigua rind into the trash can and pointed at a girl who had just left. "She didn’t scan either. How come you didn’t say anything to her?"
A moment ago, a girl in a crop top had come over, and this kid had actually taken a container of pre-cut Xigua out of the cooler for her. ’When did I ever say we provide a Xigua-cutting service?’
Besides, there was no need to be so rigid about things. If he had to give out a Xigua to every single student who posted a selfie, how much would he end up losing?
It was mostly a spontaneous thing students did because a crowd had gathered. They were either looking to make friends or acting out of vanity, secretly competing to see whose photo got more "likes."
So there was no need to demand to see the results before giving out the Xigua. The amount of Xigua he provided each day was fixed; it wasn’t a case of more promotion equaling more Xigua. The main point was to leave the students with a good impression.
Now, here was someone throwing their minor authority around, probably used to lording it over other students.
The chubby kid in the military training uniform standing nearby spoke up. "That’s Senior Li Ruihao’s girlfriend. How can you compare?"
"Oh? What’s this got to do with you? Do you have any idea who I am?" Xue Rui shot him a cold glance.
The chubby kid pushed up his glasses. He noticed that Xue Rui wasn’t wearing a military training uniform either, which probably meant he was also a senior.
But he was planning to get into the student council, and the senior cutting the Xigua was in his department’s student council. ’Who even was this guy?’
’If the other seniors didn’t know him, it meant he wasn’t anyone important in the student council.’
He grinned and silently rolled his eyes.
"What department are you from?" Li Ruihao asked.
"We’ve talked before. Why don’t you take a guess?" Xue Rui said, his hands clasped behind his back.
"I’ll just take a picture and ask around, then I’ll know," Li Ruihao said as he raised his phone and snapped a photo of Xue Rui.
’What’s with the act? Standing there with his hands behind his back like he’s some school administrator. I have no memory of this guy at all.’
’Might as well post it and ask. It’ll be a good way to embarrass this kid who took free Xigua.’
However, Xue Rui also raised his phone and took a picture of him.
"Heh," Li Ruihao scoffed.
Because he was in charge of promotion, his account on All-Purpose Campus had a decent following. People were always commenting.
He had every advantage. ’Someone trying to compete with me in this circle? They were seriously overestimating themselves.’
Just as Li Ruihao was furiously typing up a long post on his phone, his friend started jabbing him frantically in the arm.
"Quick, look at the group chat."
"What group chat could be that important? Let me send this first."
Suddenly, his phone was snatched from his hand. Li Ruihao looked up to see his friend, brow deeply furrowed, holding the phone up to his face.
"Stop writing! He’s our boss!"
