Rebirth: Saving the Lovely Girl from the Start
Chapter 399 - 302: Lin Ruoxi’s "Forceful Attack
He opened the admin panel and did an intense search for the keywords "Lin Ruoxi" and "Xigua" in the university’s comment section, hoping to find some posts about her.
To his surprise, in the time it had taken to eat a meal, the top post at the University of Posts and Telecommunications had changed again—it was a photo of the girl and him!
In the photo, the cool and aloof girl was wearing large-framed sunglasses that covered half her face. She was resting in a chair with her head turned toward him, and her long, crossed legs made it impossible to look away. A happy smile played on her lips, while he was relegated to the inconspicuous edge of the frame...
This was from earlier that morning when he had nothing to do and was teasing the girl, telling her to copy him and cross her legs. Judging from the angle, it must have been secretly taken by a freshman.
He glanced at the caption: "Senior Sister Xigua’s Long Legs."
He clicked into the comments and was shocked to see hundreds of them...
"Legs for days!"
[OP]: What department is this senior in? Does anyone know? I’ll pay for the info!
[Reply]: The canopy over her head is for the School of Computer Science.
[Reply]: I’m in computer science too. How come I don’t recognize her?
...
[Reply #340]: Found it. She’s in Software Engineering, Class 141.
[Reply]: What? She’s a freshman this year!
[Reply]: Don’t get your hopes up. She has a boyfriend—the guy in the straw hat next to her.
The reply from this "insider" quickly caught Xue Rui’s attention. ’To know our relationship that well,’ he thought, ’it must be someone from our class.’
He clicked on the user’s registration info and saw that it was Qian Huabiao’s account. There was even a photo on his homepage.
[Reply]: Her boyfriend is *that* guy?
[Qian Huabiao]: My friend, you have a keen eye. I personally don’t think that bastard is worthy of her.
Xue Rui was so angry he had to laugh. ’This kid is so two-faced. Half an hour ago, he was giving me a sincere warning, and now he’s secretly cursing me out online.’
After packing her schoolbag, Lin Ruoxi stood right next to Xue Rui, peering at his computer screen. She saw that he was reading the post about them and that Qian Huabiao was secretly badmouthing him. This made her very unhappy.
Lin Ruoxi pouted, pulled the laptop in front of her, and let her slender fingers fly across the keyboard. A moment later, a satisfied smile appeared on her face.
Xue Rui asked curiously, "What did you do?"
The girl said with a serious expression, "I banned his account."
"For how long?"
"Twenty years," the girl said with a pout.
"Yeesh." Xue Rui sucked in a sharp breath.
"And... and this one, and this one, too... twenty years each..." The girl huffed, her cheeks puffed out as she furiously typed on the keyboard. She was going to ban everyone who had said anything bad about Xue Rui.
"Xixi, hey, that’s enough. Let’s not stoop to their level. Just banning Qian Huabiao is fine," Xue Rui said, trying to suppress his laughter. ’This girl is hilarious.’
In real life, the girl was timid and meek, but online, Lin Ruoxi packed a heavy punch.
At that moment, Qian Huabiao had just left the cafeteria. He was on "All-Purpose Campus," having a great time chatting with two girls. He’d even started a separate chat thread with them, thinking that he absolutely had to get their contact info from Xue Rui when he got back to the dorm that night.
He felt Xue Rui’s design was not user-friendly at all. It blocked all external forms of communication and didn’t even allow private messaging, all for some reason about "preventing online scams"...
’Is that even a real thing?’ he scoffed. ’He probably just made that term up!’
’And what about China Mobile and China Unicom? Don’t they scam people? They’re the ones who tricked him into getting a campus phone plan.’
In any case, even if he could message them directly for their info, he wouldn’t. He wanted to get their details secretly so he could tailor his conversations. For instance, he could find out where they were from or what they liked to eat, then steer the topic in that direction to create a sense of fated connection...
’Hmph. The girls should be the ones coming to me.’
However, just as Qian Huabiao was finalizing his grand plan, his next comment failed to send. The smile on his face instantly froze.
A conspicuous line of text appeared on the screen: [Due to insulting a high-level administrator, user has been muted for 7329 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes...]
"Fuck!" Qian Huabiao didn’t even have to think to know who was behind this. ’It has to be that bastard Xue Rui!’
Who bans someone so ruthlessly? A quick mental calculation told him... that was twenty goddamn years!
By the time the ban lifts, those two girls’ kids will practically be in high school!
Even cheating in CrossFire only gets you a ten-year ban!
"That bastard Old Xue has gone too far! Is there no justice in the world?" Qian Huabiao cursed.
Zhao Chaojie looked over, puzzled. He had seen Qian Huabiao having an animated conversation with two girls. He’d been trying to chat with girls on the app too, but almost no one was paying him any mind...
Qian Huabiao had even been bragging about it right in front of him, and for the life of him, he couldn’t figure out what made them so different...
He craned his neck to get a look and saw the ban message on Qian Huabiao’s screen. He couldn’t help but let out a hearty laugh. "Nice one, Old Xue!"
That made him feel much more balanced.
Fuming, Qian Huabiao found Xue Rui’s phone number. He was going to demand an explanation!
After the phone rang twice—BEEP... BEEP...—Xue Rui hung up on him.
He glanced in the direction of the cafeteria and dialed Xue Rui’s number again.
Not until the fourth try did Xue Rui finally pick up.
But by then, he’d lost the energy to pursue the matter; half of his anger had already vanished...
He knew Xue Rui was doing it on purpose, but man, was it effective!
’I could use this trick with girls in the future...’
Qian Huabiao gritted his teeth, took a deep breath, and said in a calm tone, "Old Xue, hurry up and let me out of the doghouse."
He was perfectly aware that on Xue Rui’s platform, Xue Rui *was* the law.
"What? The cafeteria’s too noisy, I can’t hear you," Xue Rui said faintly.
"Bro, where are you? I bought drinks for you and Sister Xi," Qian Huabiao said with a laugh. He could tell Xue Rui was doing this on purpose, waiting for him to make a peace offering.
