Qian Huabiao just couldn't hold it in. He had met Gu Muxue only yesterday, and the girl had admitted to his face that Xue Rui was her boyfriend. And now today, Xue Rui brought another girlfriend?

He understood in an instant. Xue Rui was two-timing.

"Huh?" A roommate looked over, a strange expression on his face. 'Who is Qian Huabiao cursing out? Xue Rui is the only one who's been talking, so he must mean him, right?'

Xue Rui had just introduced Lin Ruoxi to his roommates. She was feeling quite happy and was about to say something to everyone when she heard Qian Huabiao yell "animal."

Now the two of them were playing off each other perfectly, and his roommates were starting to give him funny looks…

Zhao Chaojie threw an arm around Qian Huabiao's neck and hissed, "What the hell are you doing?"

Thinking fast, Qian Huabiao blurted out, "I wasn't cursing anyone! I was just saying that our classmate Lin Ruoxi is so fearless, coming into a men's dorm. It's just not safe!"

Lin Ruoxi had been watching Qian Huabiao's micro-expressions the whole time. Squeezing Xue Rui's hand, she mustered her courage and whispered, "You… you're lying."

Qian Huabiao was suffering in silence. He just couldn't stop himself from making one snarky comment—there was no real malice behind it—and now he'd been forced into this bizarre apology.

"You… you guys, please don't bully Xue Rui. And please don't smoke in the dorm room, okay?" Lin Ruoxi said to the group.

This was the kind of thing their parents would say. Hearing it from Lin Ruoxi, the guys didn't know how to react for a moment.

But who could refuse such a sweet and gentle request?

"No problem, absolutely no problem."

"Let's make Xue Rui our dorm leader. We can go fill out the form with the dorm supervisor right now," Zhao Chaojie said with a sly grin.

Xue Rui shot Zhao Chaojie a look. The guy was taking the opportunity to dump the title of dorm leader on him.

Being the dorm leader was no easy gig. There were no perks, you had to deal with the supervisors and staff during inspections, and if you were too soft-tempered, you'd likely get stuck with all the cleaning.

"Fine, I'll do it," Xue Rui agreed with a nod.

"I'm going to walk Lin Ruoxi to her dorm first. We can all grab a bite to eat together later." Xue Rui said to the guys before heading downstairs.

After Xue Rui and Lin Ruoxi left the dorm, Zhao Chaojie nonchalantly lit up a cigarette.

"Zhao Chaojie, we just agreed not to smoke in the dorm," Cai Huazhou reminded him.

"*I* never agreed to anything," Zhao Chaojie said with a scoff.

In his mind, he couldn't control the urge to smoke while gaming. If he couldn't smoke in the dorm, was he supposed to lug his computer out onto the balcony to play?

Just then, Lin Ruoxi walked back in. She had forgotten her phone in Xue Rui's room.

"Rui, can we please just move out?" Lin Ruoxi said to Xue Rui, who was waiting in the hallway.

She didn't want Xue Rui breathing secondhand smoke in the dorm. She was ready to march back in and pack up his things.

Flustered, Zhao Chaojie shoved the cigarette butt into a water bottle. "Lin Ruoxi, listen to me, I can explain! That's not what I meant!"
