Chapter 2669: Little Tabby Cat

The people present all looked at each other in disbelief; whether Miss Sun’s words were true was still a big question mark given Miss Qian’s current state!

Xuexue asked lightly, “Tell me the details of the matter.”

It turned out that Miss Sun and Miss Qian were good friends. Miss Qian had always wanted to approach the Prince but never had the chance, especially since Xuexue entered the War Prince’s Mansion. The Prince no longer gathered several sisters together for entertainment as he had before.

Because of this, Miss Qian became melancholic, couldn’t eat or sleep, and suffered from severe unrequited love, lying sick in bed for half a month, having lost a great deal of weight.

One day, when Miss Sun went to her courtyard, Miss Qian hesitantly shared her plan while taking out a cloth doll from under her pillow.

This cloth doll was covered with needles piercing its heart, with a piece of paper glued on its forehead, having inscribed on it Situtu Xueer and her birth date characters.

Miss Sun was startled; she couldn’t have dreamed that Miss Qian knew the Witch Gu Technique.

Later, Miss Qian explained she didn’t actually know Witch Gu Technique; she just wanted to scare the Princess Consort a bit, so she wouldn’t monopolize the Prince, then pleaded with Miss Sun to help by sending someone to deliver the doll to the Princess Consort without revealing who did it.

The two conspired for an entire night, finally deciding to involve Miss Zhao, who came from a poor family. A little Silver would persuade her to act, and even if something happened, no one would cause trouble.

The next day, when Miss Zhao came over, Miss Sun pretended to step out, feigning stomach pain halfway to go squat, telling Miss Zhao to sign out at the steward for leaving the mansion, so everyone would believe it was Miss Zhao who planted explosives to harm the Princess Consort, but the true mastermind was Miss Qian.

Miss Qian lay on the ground, seemingly agitated, stammering, but unable to speak due to her injured mouth, could do nothing but fret.

The situation was such that only Miss Sun could speak, without any rebuttal from Miss Qian.

For a moment, no one knew whether Miss Sun’s words were true.

After all the questioning, the case still returned to the starting point, without knowing who the mastermind was?

Miss Qian, being a young lady, wouldn’t seriously blow her up out of jealousy, would she? Xuexue expressed strong doubts about this.

Wasn’t Long Rui unattractive? Given his now publicly known hideous appearance, no lady would die for him, right?

Who indeed planted the explosives?

What was the intention? Really wanted to blow her up?

Xuexue stretched out her charred hand, her sleeves tattered, with several holes. She gathered her hair, turned into a bird’s nest by the blast, and said leisurely, “There’s no rush; the Princess Consort has plenty of time.”

Finally, she stood up and said, “Someone, lock them all in the dungeon, we’ll interrogate another day.”

Just as the steward was about to respond, suddenly, a flurry of footsteps came from outside the door…

Turns out, Long Rui had hurried back dusty and frantic…

“My dear, as soon as I entered the mansion, I heard you were blown up, are you alright?” Long Rui stormed in like a whirlwind, grabbing Xuexue, examining her up and down…

Xuexue: “I’m fine, really!”

Long Rui was deeply distressed: “Fine? Almost disfigured, look at this little face—like a little flower cat, so black and dirty. This hair, my goodness! Turned into a bird’s nest.”

Talking, Long Rui couldn’t help but roar: “Who? Who exactly did this? How did they turn my dear into such a state?”
