There was even more resentment towards Situtu Xueer, feeling she was too selfish, monopolizing the Prince entirely. In their hearts, there were those wicked thoughts of why the explosion hadn’t killed the Princess Consort. If she were dead, the Prince would surely treat them as he did before.

Despite this, the Princess Consort of the War Prince was sitting there in the hall, her beautiful eyes glaring at them like a fierce predator.

This made everyone feel uneasy inside. The Princess Consort had summoned them, but did not say a word, simply sizing them up continuously. What on earth did she want?

"Princess Consort, why have you called us sisters here? Just get to the point, everyone is busy!" said one of the women, dressed in a seductive manner, as she sashayed forward like a lotus, with a swaying, enchanting air.

While speaking, she extended her slender jade-like hand, casually inspecting her bright red nails, appearing distracted.

Xuexue sat in the center chair, looking disheveled, her previously exquisite dress now tattered and torn, her fair skin smudged with black.

The steward fared no better, his clothes torn and ragged, face smeared with dark and purple patches, his hair tie fallen away, leaving his graying long hair disheveled and messy. He stood dispiritedly beneath Xuexue.

"Bang...!"

Xuexue slammed the table hard with her hand. Her martial power now deep, one slap left five finger impressions on the tabletop.

Everyone present shivered in fear.

The martial skills of the Princess Consort are just as terrifying as the Prince’s.

"Miss Qian, are you very busy?" Xuexue asked through clenched teeth, her voice sinister.

Earlier, as she walked out of the hall, she happened to meet the steward who had come looking for her. He had a gift box in hand, saying someone had just sent it to her. Xuexue wasn’t interested in gifts and was about to tell him to dispose of it when she inadvertently caught sight of wisps of blue smoke rising from the box—something one wouldn’t notice without close scrutiny.

A shiver ran through her body, and she quickly snatched the box from the steward’s hand, throwing it forcefully into the distance...

However, she was a bit late, and as soon as the box was thrown, it exploded, resulting in their current unfortunate state.

A split-second later, and the consequences would have been unimaginable; their lives would have ended. Recalling this, both felt deeply afraid.

Especially the steward, who felt he had failed in his duty, putting the Princess Consort in harm’s way.

Xuexue climbed up from the ground, surviving by a narrow margin, her heart still palpitating with fear.

Who could have orchestrated this?

She thought about it over again; there were so many spies within the mansion. It could very well be one of them, so she had the steward call them all to the hall, planning to make an example.

Long Rui didn’t want to turn against The Emperor, nor confront his people.

As the saying goes, "The onlookers see more clearly." Xuexue, as a bystander, saw very clearly that Long Rui and The Emperor would eventually have a fallout; it was just a matter of time.

Since the fallout was inevitable, why play the coward? Today, she would strike amongst The Emperor’s spies and see who is unfortunate enough.

Yet, for now, it seemed that the woman who stepped forward had already emerged as the leader.

It turns out this supremely flamboyant woman was named Qian, daughter of Prefect Qian, skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. Who knows if she lost her mind, but it is said she secretly admired the War Prince, even insisting on entering the War Prince’s Mansion as some sort of maid concubine, yet unfortunately, to this day, she has not received the Prince’s favor and remains an unmarried maiden.

These past years, she had been a restless presence in the War Prince’s Mansion.

If it weren’t for the Prince’s order forbidding her from leaving the courtyard, she would have thrown the entire War Prince’s Mansion into chaos.
