Rebirth: Pampered by the Lord
Chapter 2648: Stretching the Muscles
The Nine Gates Admiral, looking troubled, said, "Princess Consort, what...what...do you mean?"
Xuexue feigned ignorance: "Master, what are you talking about? What do you mean?"
Nine Gates Admiral: "Apologizing to the Weirdo!"
Xuexue: "You mistook him for a spy; he almost lost his head. Shouldn’t you apologize?"
"This...this isn’t good!" If he really did that, how could he maintain his position in the Imperial court afterward? With the Emperor, it would be hard to pass muster.
After all, if he really did that, it would be a disgrace to the Imperial court.
"Shoo!"
At that moment, a dark figure dropped to the ground in front of them like a bolt of lightning.
The Nine Gates Admiral looked down to see it was the Weirdo. Initially too far away to see clearly, now close up, it was even more shocking.
The old man had neither hands nor feet, just a torso and a head, with a beard covering his face so much so that his features were indistinguishable. At first glance, such a strange creature was indeed frightening, no wonder the Government Soldiers wouldn’t let him enter the city; not only did he mar the city’s appearance, but with so many high officials and nobles in the Capital, scaring them was quite a misdeed.
The Weirdo’s voice was filled with grievance: "Girl, you finally spoke up; the Master thought you had gone mute!"
He had been arguing with the Government Soldiers, nearly exhausted, while this girl was watching the show; he felt somewhat unbalanced.
Xuexue laughed: "I saw you having fun, why would you be tired?"
The Weirdo chuckled foolishly, realizing she saw through it: "Hahaha...! Just stretching the muscles a bit."
Finally, he added, "Too many flies can be annoying."
The Princess Consort of War Prince greeted the Weirdo familiarly, not as if they were acquaintances by chance.
The Nine Gates Admiral’s small eyes flickered back and forth, coughing desperately, hoping Xuexue would plead for him, perhaps forget the apology; he was an Imperial Appointed Official and needed to save face.
But Xuexue looked straight ahead, ignoring him.
His intentions were clear even to the City Gate Official beside him! But the Princess Consort showed no reaction; they were helpless against Xuexue.
The Weirdo, lying on the ground, glaring oddly at the City Gate Official, said, "Girl, weren’t you saying someone would apologize to the Master? How come I’ve been here for so long, and there’s no response?"
The Nine Gates Admiral forced a smile: "Hehe...this Master, it was just a misunderstanding. As the saying goes, ’no fight, no acquaintance,’ now we’re friends, let’s forget the apology."
The Weirdo glared, speaking viciously: "Who are you? Did the Master talk to you?"
Nine Gates Admiral: "This official is the Nine Gates Admiral."
The Nine Gates Admiral believed that revealing his title would either scare the Weirdo half to death or earn his respect, letting the matter rest.
Who knew, the Weirdo didn’t even glance at him, arrogantly addressing the City Gate Official: "Hey, you turtle son, weren’t you going to apologize to the Master? Why haven’t you started?"
At this, not only did the Nine Gates Admiral’s face feel slapped, the City Gate Official was shaking with rage—who on earth agreed to apologize? This crazy old man had hit him, he hadn’t even settled accounts, and now apologies? What a dream.
The two stood there unmoving.
"Hey, girl, what’s going on?" The Weirdo asked Xuexue.
Xuexue secretly found it amusing, kept a straight face, and said to the Nine Gates Admiral: "Master, you see...!"
The Nine Gates Admiral finally realized the Weirdo only wanted an apology from the City Gate Official, which was simple enough; just have him apologize.
