Rebirth: Pampered by the Lord
Chapter 2641: The Author Cried
The City Gate Official was a burly man in his thirties, built like a bear with a height of eight feet. Under the scrutiny of the public, he was hit by the Weirdo, feeling utterly humiliated. He waved his hand fiercely at the other gatekeeping Government Soldiers and said viciously, "Brothers, this crippled old man dared to publicly disdain the Imperial court. Go up and chop up this traitor."
He held the highest position at the city gate, specializing in managing it, so the soldiers obeyed his orders.
Upon hearing this, the soldiers gripped their spears and rushed towards the Weirdo like a swarm of bees, their spears showing no mercy as they fiercely stabbed towards the Weirdo lying on the ground.
Dozens of people moved in unison, assuming the Weirdo would surely become a pin cushion.
"Swish...!"
Dozens of spears stabbed towards the ground where the Weirdo lay, their tips firmly embedded in the earth. Just when everyone thought the Weirdo was undoubtedly dead, they steadied themselves for a closer look—only to find the ground empty, and the Weirdo’s shadow nowhere in sight.
While the soldiers were puzzled, they suddenly heard a scream from the City Gate Official: "Ah...! My eyes, my eyes!"
Turning their heads, they saw the City Gate Official clutching his face with both hands, painfully squatting on the ground.
Meanwhile, the Weirdo lay leisurely to the side, laughing arrogantly, "This is what you get for looking down on people."
"Ah...! It hurts so much!" The City Gate Official, caught in this disaster, couldn’t hear what the Weirdo was saying, his mind entirely focused on his eyes.
The soldiers were frightened stiff, realizing they had encountered a tough opponent today. This crippled Weirdo dared to harm even an Imperial Appointed Official—was his background significant?
The soldiers’ hands trembled as they held their spears, stuttering, "Who... who exactly are you?"
The Weirdo’s tone was atypically bold and arrogant, "Didn’t I tell you? I am your Master."
The soldiers exchanged bewildered glances, losing their previous arrogance but not daring to let the Weirdo leave. After all, their superior’s eyes were injured, and if they allowed the Weirdo to escape, they’d surely be blamed once he recovered.
"Ah, the pain... it’s killing me! Why are you just standing there? Hurry up and chop him!" The City Gate Official’s eyes were wounded, and he was in agony.
Yet, his subordinates, the soldiers, remained leisurely standing by, simply watching the Weirdo, immediately provoking the City Gate Official’s anger.
The soldiers shuddered all over, grabbing their spears and surrounding the Weirdo firmly...
"What’s wrong? Your leader has been blinded by the Master, do you all want to end up a bunch of blind men?" The Weirdo completely disregarded the group of soldiers.
If he wished, he could knock them all down in an instant.
The line of citizens at the city gate grew longer, completely clogging the entrance.
The citizens were very frustrated; they were busy trying to enter the Capital for business! Now the blocked city gate was delaying their business.
"Government Official Master, what’s going on? Let us into the city to do business first." The citizens babbled to the soldiers.
"What business? Can’t you see there’s a Wei Country spy mixed into the city, endangering the Emperor’s safety—who among you can take responsibility for that?" The City Gate Official, eyes injured by the Weirdo, was seething with anger, covering one eye and furiously reprimanding the citizens.
The Weirdo sneered repeatedly; he merely wanted to enter the Capital and was accused of being a Wei Country spy?
This City Gate Official was clearly settling a personal vendetta too conspicuously.
