Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space
Chapter 1529: Treating Guests
Shi Jing’s tone and attitude were quite ordinary, but Yang Run Tai laughed good-naturedly. "Just like you all, it’s Capital University."
"Well, congratulations to Brother Yang then, which department are you in?"
"Political Science."
Shi Jing laughed, "Then we are classmates."
Yang Run Tai also laughed, "That’s great. But Feifei, can’t you switch to Political Science?"
Feifei shook her head, "I don’t like those things."
Yang Run Tai actually had thought about following Jiang Feifei when he knew she applied to the Chinese Literature department. He agonized over it for days, but ultimately chose Political Science.
He was no longer at that impulsive age; such a choice wouldn’t benefit him in any way.
Now it was Shi Jing’s turn to play the piano. He raised his eyebrows, "Brother Yang, should we play a duet?"
Feifei couldn’t help but laugh at her brother’s words.
Yang Run Tai shook his head, "Shi Jing, you go ahead. I’ll just listen."
Jiang Shijing shrugged, but Teacher Zheng laughed, "Shi Jing, let’s play together."
The two of them sat by the piano, and it must be said, their duet was pretty decent. Teacher Zheng had experience and coordinated effortlessly with Shi Jing.
Yang Run Tai looked at the little girl sitting beside him, smiling as she listened intently to the music. She was already fifteen; time really flew.
The little girl had turned out beautifully; no words were adequate to describe her.
Luckily, she’s in the Chinese Literature department, otherwise, the relentless suitors would be a headache for the Wei Family.
But he knew that this girl was quite skilled. Generally, a group of three or five people wouldn’t stand a chance against her, which was a form of self-protection.
Jiang Feifei sensed Yang Run Tai looking at her, frowned slightly, and turned her face towards Yang Run Tai, "Brother Yang?"
Yang Run Tai’s smile grew even warmer, but he didn’t answer Feifei’s question.
After Shi Jing finished playing. The time for class arrived. The three of them said goodbye to Teacher Zheng with smiles.
Because it snowed today, the siblings didn’t ride bicycles. The three walked home, and at the intersection, "Brother Yang, your direction is over there."
Yang Run Tai still smiled good-naturedly, "I’m going to your place. I promised Shi Xian to treat you to hot pot lamb tonight."
Shi Xian said this weather is perfect for hot pot lamb.
That rascal. Shi Jing secretly complained in his heart about his brother.
Jiang Feifei shook her head, "I don’t want to eat out in this weather."
"It’s okay. We’ll have Shuanrou City deliver to our home. We can eat at home, so we won’t have to freeze on the way back.
Also, my handmade noodles are particularly delicious, cooking them in lamb broth will be definitely tasty."
Jiang Feifei still shook her head, "Let’s forget it, you guys go ahead. My parents, Master Shang, and I are having porridge tonight. You four go and eat.
Shi Xian probably wants to go to Shuanrou City to eat because he wants roasted lamb leg. Roasted meat doesn’t taste good once it’s cold if we bring it home."
Yang Run Tai nodded with a smile, "Alright, I’ll bring you sesame paste biscuits when I come back."
The three returned home, and Shi Xian’s group of four had already finished their classes. Master Shang had been teaching them about the Spring and Autumn period lately.
Ah Bao ran over laughing, "Sister, Brother Yang is treating us to hot pot lamb."
Jiang Feifei nodded, "Alright, Brother Yang will take you, we’ll eat at home. Ah Bao, eat more, order whatever you want.
You four should go change clothes, don’t keep Brother Yang waiting too long."
The family members hadn’t gone home yet and were held up by the younger ones.
"Sis, you’re really not going?"
"Yes, I’m not going. I’ll cook for Mom and Dad at home, you all go."
Yang Run Tai also heard from Yu Jie that this little girl could cook. He definitely had to try her cooking one of these days.
Shi Jing didn’t even take off his coat, just stood by waiting for the four younger ones.
On regular days, they weren’t lacking, so why were they so eager for someone to treat them? Shi Jing decided he needed to teach Shi Xian a lesson when they returned.
The six still walked there. When they left, the house suddenly became much quieter.
Shang Zhenkun entered the living room with a smile, "Feifei, I want to eat cornmeal porridge tonight."
"Alright, I’ll go simmer it now, big chunks or small?"
"Regular is good."
"Carrot stir-fried with meat, salted vegetables with eggs?"
"Sure. Roast a couple of buns for your dad." Their taste was similar but Wei Kaiyun still had the stamina, being busy outside all day, just having porridge at night wouldn’t do.
Feifei nodded with a smile, went back to change clothes, and headed to the kitchen.
Both mother and daughter were somewhat picky, so the kitchen was particularly clean and tidy.
When the couple returned, the porridge was still simmering on low heat on the stove.
The buns were also roasted golden brown, looking appetizing.
"Feifei, where are the others?" Jiang Xinyu was quite puzzled about why the house was so quiet today.
"Yang Run Tai returned. He’s treating them to hot pot lamb."
"Oh."
Wei Kaiyun entered the dining room after changing clothes and heard his daughter’s words. He frowned, these rascals, how could they go off eating with someone casually?
The four of them sat down to eat. Wei Kaiyun now wouldn’t go eat dinner with anyone, just waiting to come home and eat the meal cooked by his daughter.
At the restaurant, Yang Run Tai was good-naturedly keeping company with the five of them.
Feifei’s prediction came true, they indeed wanted roasted lamb leg.
"Bring two lamb legs, let the four of you indulge."
Er Bao grinned, "Brother Yang is really generous."
Shi Jing glared at them, "Tomorrow morning, horse stance for an extra twenty minutes."
"Brother, you’re too harsh." Shi Xian laughed.
Tingting had no complaints, just sat obediently next to Shi Jing.
"Brother, did Teacher Zheng say whether tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow morning is for class?"
"Morning, from now on, you four go in the morning to study."
Since they were still young, they were taught separately.
"Brother, sister told me she wants to learn guzheng too, I want to go, I love music."
Shi Jing nodded, "Sure, you can listen to your sister."
The dishes were served quite quickly. They ordered the specialty almond milk.
The brothers raised their glasses, "Congratulations to Brother Yang."
Yang Run Tai laughed, his eyes gleaming, "Thank you for your congratulations."
The three boys were definitely enjoying themselves today, Shi Jing let them; it was fine to indulge occasionally.
"Shi Jing, where’s Jianbin?"
"These days he’s with Uncle Yang."
Shi Jing didn’t mention that Uncle Yang proudly showed off his son everywhere, Jianbin disliked those occasions but couldn’t bear to refuse.
Yang Run Tai understood the situation. In a previous life, Han Jianbin didn’t get into college.
Han Xiangjun surely hoped the whole world would know his son got into Capital University. That was something really understandable.
Shi Jing had a rather light palate, so he didn’t eat much. Watching his younger siblings eat joyfully made him happy. He probably felt the same way back then, huh?
