Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1372: I’ll Take You to Him
Chapter 1372: Chapter 1372: I’ll Take You to Him
This is the floor of Peace Group, so naturally there aren’t people from other companies around.
Even so, quite a few people are poking their heads out to watch the drama.
Right now they’re not worried at all about the boss scolding them—this is the boss’s wife personally inviting them to watch the show. They’re technically following orders by rubbernecking.
The way Sophie Wilson summoned people over was straight out of a street shrew’s playbook, leaving Ethan Seymour and Old Mr. Chapman completely dumbfounded.
Old Mr. Seymour had come over intending to smooth things out after getting the news, but now he quietly pulled back the foot he was about to step out with, stayed behind the door, and watched in silence.
It wasn’t time for him to make an appearance yet.
Julian Campbell saw this scene and blinked twice. He had originally been with Great-grandpa at Seymour Corporation. Once Great-grandpa got word that Old Mr. Chapman had rushed over, they had hurriedly followed.
After all, Old Mr. Chapman’s age is what it is, and on top of that, he’s his little uncle’s elder’s elder. They were worried his little uncle would be at a disadvantage.
But looking at it now... it really doesn’t look like he’s the one at a disadvantage.
"Sophie Wilson, what are you making a scene for?" Because Ethan Seymour had had more contact with Sophie Wilson, he snapped out of it noticeably faster than Old Mr. Chapman.
"What kind of scene? I’m just letting everyone see how shameless you two are." Sophie Wilson said with a wide, sweet smile. "What’s wrong? You barge into my Mr. Seymour’s company to kick up a fuss, but back when my Mr. Seymour was a kid getting bullied with no one to look after him, what were you doing?"
"One of you was hot and heavy with his mistress, and the other pinned his own daughter’s death on a grandson who was still in elementary school."
As soon as Sophie Wilson finished, the employees of Peace Group all let out a very meaningful "ohhh."
That one sound turned Old Mr. Chapman’s face dark as iron, a surge of shame and anger bubbling up inside him.
"Sophie Wilson, that was all in the past, don’t you stand here..." Ethan Seymour tried to change the subject, but too bad for him—Sophie wasn’t about to let him.
"Past or not, it’s still fact. After treating my Mr. Seymour like that, you still have the nerve to come here looking for him? I really ought to make a suggestion to the research division at the training camp—have them study bulletproof vests with your help. I’m guessing the toughness of your skin would be a huge inspiration."
As soon as Sophie Wilson said this, the people around them burst out laughing.
The way their boss’s wife put it was just too satisfying.
They were enjoying themselves, but Old Mr. Chapman and Ethan Seymour felt like they’d swallowed a fly.
"Sharp tongue like that—no wonder you’re capable of doing such disgusting things!" Old Mr. Chapman snorted in displeasure. "I’m not wasting words on you. Tell Charles Seymour to come see me."
Sophie Wilson couldn’t help but laugh: "Old sir, do you still think you’re some ancient Emperor? Issue a decree, and whoever you want to ’present themselves at court’ has to show up?"
"Wake up. The feudal dynasties died out a long time ago." Sophie Wilson’s mocking tone had Old Mr. Chapman huffing and puffing in rage. "You, you..."
"Dad, don’t get worked up." Ethan Seymour hurried to soothe Old Mr. Chapman.
Sophie Wilson saw that and sneered: "No wonder you see yourself as an emperor, old sir. That magnanimity is truly impressive—you can even coexist peacefully with the man who killed your own daughter. I am deeply impressed. Utterly impressed!"
"Eh? If I remember right, James Reed’s health supplements were pushed by the Chapman Family, weren’t they? And now Ethan Seymour runs over, acting so chummy with you, old sir... Ohhh, I get it now!" Sophie Wilson clapped her hands, suddenly enlightened. "I’ll take you to see my Mr. Seymour!"
