Chapter 1355: Chapter 1355: Only Admire My Own Boss

Charles Seymour gave Jim Perry a rather puzzled look and asked a question that almost made Jim choke: "If it’s not ruthless, why would I even bother making a move?"

Jim: "..."

The boss sounded so damn reasonable that Jim was actually left speechless.

"Boss, didn’t you say you were leaving everything to the missus to handle, that you wouldn’t interfere?" Jim remembered his boss’s stance crystal clear.

Especially that smug expression back then—no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t forget it.

"Did I interfere?" Charles looked at Jim with even more confusion. "Isn’t this just a normal company investment?" ℯℯ𝑙.

"Do you think the two companies I invested in are incompetent, or that medical consumables have no future?"

Listening to Charles’s words, Jim genuinely wanted to refute him but couldn’t find a single angle, and could only nod and admit, "Of course, this is a great investment."

It’s just... why did his chest feel so stuffy the moment he admitted it?

"But Boss, your investment terms are obviously targeting the Chapman Family." Jim still decided to be a loyal subordinate who dared to speak up. When the boss lies, someone has to have the guts to call him out, or else the boss will just sink deeper into his own delusions, keep going down the wrong path, and lose himself. That would be bad.

Jim was practically moved to tears by his own unwavering loyalty.

"What, you want me to keep clients in my portfolio that make me sick?" Charles snorted coldly and said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, "Of course we’re cutting ties with the Chapman Family."

Jim looked at his boss, who was talking with such righteous conviction, then silently turned his head away.

Damn!

Shameless to the core!

He was clearly investing out of pure personal spite, yet somehow managed to twist it into: because we’re investing, we’ll just conveniently terminate cooperation with the Chapman Family.

Turning black into white, lying with his eyes wide open... honestly, Jim only ever bowed down to his own boss.

The key thing was, after doing all this, the boss could still be this calm and composed—Jim couldn’t help but be impressed.

"I’ll go find some people to research these two companies and get in touch with them." Jim picked up the file and stood up, afraid that if he stayed here any longer his blood vessels might just pop.

Charles didn’t have much reaction to Jim’s emotional roller coaster; he was busy pondering whether these little moves behind the scenes would be enough to disgust the Chapman Family for a good while.

Yeah, ever since he got together with Sophie Wilson, life really had gotten more relaxed. He didn’t have to stay constantly tense, and he could even discover little bits of fun in everyday life from time to time.

Clearly, the Chapman Family, who had been turned into one of those "little bits of fun," were having a pretty rough time lately.

It wasn’t that the doctors at their hospital weren’t skilled; there just weren’t enough of them.

Everyone else was still duking it out on the debate floor, arguing point by point, but Sophie Wilson’s side just refused to play by the rules—she went straight down to do hands-on practice. And not just practice—she actually pulled out a scalpel.

In one move, she caught the Chapman Family completely off guard.

The whole reason they pushed for this symposium was to suppress Sophie Wilson, to make that woman understand that a hospital is a hospital; it’s not the business world, and you can’t just do whatever you want just because you have money.

"Dad, I’ve contacted everyone I needed to." Henry Chapman couldn’t help but show a trace of pride on his face. "We’ve invited the top of the top experts. This time, we can defeat them purely on academic grounds."

"Don’t get careless." Felix Chapman was still much steadier than his son. "I heard Sophie Wilson will be attending this time. That woman has a sharp tongue and a quick wit—you never know what tricks she’ll pull."
