The number of zombies increased, roaring furiously. Despite crashing into the black car with their flesh, they did so without hesitation.

The dull sound of flesh hitting the car was incessant.

One zombie after another rushed forward, sacrificing their rotting bodies. Their heads shattered, turning into a heap of black flesh lying on the ground.

This pile of black flesh barely caused the black car to make a thud as it passed, unable to make any ripples.

As the decayed bodies piled up, the car finally came to a stop.

The one-armed Base Commander cursed under his breath and got out of the car without hesitation.

The Base Commander exuded a cold aura. Though he was in his forties or fifties, he looked like he was only around thirty, with bulging muscles underneath his clothes, containing immense energy.

"Roar—"

As soon as the Base Commander appeared, the scent of flesh intensified, and the zombies’ roars grew even more fierce and impassioned.

They scrambled towards the Base Commander, their bodies twisted as if they could fall at any moment, yet each time they managed to stand up in an awkward pose, pouncing towards the scent of flesh.

The road was flanked by lush trees, blocking out the sky, but they couldn’t block out the furious roars of the zombies.

Within those sounds was an endless fury, its origin unknown, driven solely by the desire for flesh.

The Base Commander looked at the crowd of zombies in front of him, standing on the roof of the car. Though he only had one arm left, he didn’t find the zombies in front of him challenging.

Purple lightning radiated from him, spreading densely outwards.

The lightning did not just attack the zombies’ vulnerable brains; instead, it enveloped all the zombies in purple lightning, burning the black rotten flesh into a charred substance.

Zombies fell in droves, and for a moment there was silence, quickly broken again by the zombies surging forward.

The Base Commander scanned the surroundings sharply, and within less than a minute, he locked onto a lush tree directly ahead.

From his vantage point, he could see a black figure on that tree.

The figure was hidden among the lush leaves, the face obscured.

He could vaguely see the hands had human skin.

It was a Zombie King.

The Base Commander sneered, fearlessly raising his only arm. The purple lightning struck again, and this time, besides the nearby zombies suffering, a purple lightning snake swiftly flew towards the tree.

The smell of scorched wood permeated the air, forcing the black figure to jump down from the tree.

His face was revealed.

It was Captain Zhu.

The Base Commander squinted his eyes dangerously. He knew this character was in cahoots with Wang Ge, never mind whether they really had the power to bring people back to life.

Not to mention the time when Xiao Leng’s leg was scratched by a zombie, he could never let Captain Zhu and Wang Ge go.

If it weren’t for his son being lucky enough to resist the zombie virus, his adorable son would be howling by now.

"Long time no see, Base Commander. Lost an arm yet still so brave!"

Captain Zhu’s lips curled slightly. He nodded in the Base Commander’s direction, occasionally glancing behind him.

Behind the Base Commander, a blue and white bus had already stopped nearby.

After seeing Captain Zhu appear, the bus door opened, and the Bai Family members got off one after another.

The Base Commander didn’t waste any words; he just hurled more intense purple lightning at Captain Zhu.

No words, only action!

Seeing the purple lightning before him, Captain Zhu’s expression stiffened for a moment before quickly dodging the attack.

"Base Commander, I’m here to negotiate."

Captain Zhu said deeply.

"I don’t accept your negotiation!"

The Base Commander glanced at the ground covered in zombies, his attack becoming even more fierce.

This guy brought over so many zombies, yet didn’t show any sign of wanting to negotiate.

With so many zombies, ordinary folks wouldn’t even have a chance to howl.

Soon, the Bai Family members joined the fight, not saying a word, their multicolored lights directly hurled at Captain Zhu.

The Bai Family had a good impression of friendly Zombie Kings, but for those unfriendly Zombie Kings who commanded zombies to attack them without a word, they never showed mercy.

After all, it’s a Zombie King!

They’d never personally killed a Zombie King!

The crystal core inside this guy’s head must be valuable!

"It’s about Ancient Kunlun Mountain. I have leads on it, and we can work together for mutual benefit."

Captain Zhu only dodged attacks, not attacking anyone.

"Ancient Kunlun Mountain? What do you know?"

Upon hearing Captain Zhu mention Ancient Kunlun Mountain directly, both the Base Commander and the Bai Family were taken aback.

The lightning in the Base Commander’s hand did not attack Captain Zhu, but neither did he withdraw his superpower, instead wiping out all the howling little cuties nearby.

Zombies piled up like mountains, with a decaying odor rolling in overwhelming waves.

Captain Zhu did not answer the Base Commander’s question but looked directly at Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai.

"I know you have a good relationship with Zhang Yiming. I can reveal part of the Ancient Kunlun Mountain secret, but you have to help me with one thing."

Captain Zhu calmly stepped on the rotting zombie bodies, his clean casual wear stained black by decayed black blood.

There was also a technological device at his temple, directly piercing into his head.

It could prevent Zhang Yiming’s brainwaves from detecting him, avoiding becoming one of Zhang Yiming’s loyal subordinates.

"What thing?"

Bai Zhengxuan looked at the once most righteous person in front of him, sighing slightly.

He still remembered the scene of Captain Zhu leading everyone from S City to escape, followed by the story of how he raised the Mutated Ant Queen to obtain High Rank Crystal Cores, which luckily did not lead to disaster.

Originally thought that after being bitten by a zombie, he would become a howling zombie, and his merits and demerits would be offset.

Unexpectedly, he became a Zombie King and was still driven by his obsessions.

"Xiao Song, you have to return Xiao Song."

Captain Zhu paused, his voice slightly hoarse.

It had been a long time since he last saw Xiao Song Zombie, and he didn’t know how much he had evolved.

During his time at the underground research facility, Captain Zhu had learned some secrets about ordinary zombies’ evolution, eager to find Xiao Song Zombie and awaken his consciousness sooner.

As soon as Captain Zhu mentioned Xiao Song Zombie, the Bai Family looked at Bai Xiqin.

They had seen Xiao Song Zombie, just like Xiao Lan Zombie, often following Zhang Yiming as a subordinate.

"If I remember correctly, you’re with Wang Ge. We can’t trust you."

Bai Xiqin neither refused nor agreed.

Sometimes, the enemy isn’t always an enemy.

But Bai Xiqin trusted Captain Zhu even less now that he was a zombie.

The Captain Zhu who could selflessly save others was gone. After the mutant rat swarm ran rampant, Captain Zhu’s mindset had undergone drastic changes.

"Wang Ge?"

Captain Zhu suddenly let out a cold laugh, instinctively touching the device on his head.

Admittedly, the research facility from the Wang Ge family indeed defied the heavens. It allowed him to evade Zhang Yiming’s brainwaves and amplify his own brainwaves severalfold in a short time.

However, this world isn’t one where having heaven-defying technology can achieve all of one’s goals.
